i like Lenny when his was in Toronto...i think he still deserves it..he lost his job in Toronto cuz of injures u can't rili blame that on the coach

poor don chaney. he was a good guy too bad he didn't win. but that could of been scott layden's fault since he is many people's favorite scapegoat.

It's also on ESPN.com

I kinda think it was a good move by the Knicks. All the chants of "Fire Chaney! Fire Chaney!" by the fans kind of sent a bad message to Chaney showing the fans weren't behind him and were against him, and with Thomas as GM, fans pretty much get what they want now.

Lenny Wilkins is too lax on...well, everything...the Raptors were horrible defensively with Lenny at the helm. Maybe he got better, but I doubt it.

It's not a terrible move, bringing in a guy who's won more games than any other coach in NBA history, including the 1979 NBA Championship. Still, as Shane pointed out, his methods weren't all that successful with the Raptors. Injuries certainly played a large role in Toronto's woes last season, but Lenny still had to shoulder some of the blame.

Nevertheless, he has been a pretty successful coach, even though he's only guided a team to the title once. Let's see what he can do with the new Knicks team.

Wilkens has also lost more games than any other coach in the history of the nba. He is way to laid back and doesn't show any emotion towards anything.

Actually one of the problems in Toronto last year was also that the players didn't respect Lenny anymore and wouldn't listen to him. So really it wasn't all his fault, but also when the players don't respect you how can you stay as coach.

well a new coach for the knicks is good
they needed 1..
a new start for Lenny will be nice too.. He got his mutombo back =)
Lenny is experienced.. he coached soo many years.. he will do fine

I think Lenny's too laissez-faire, but someone on WFAN brought up a good point. Lenny's probably the right coach for Marbury. He'll let Stephon do his thing, unlike a control freak like Fratello.

The raptors enjoyed their best run under Lenny's coaching (2001). Marbury will be given freedom, plus also Mutumbo respects lenny from atlanta plus kvh and h2o probably wont disrespect the coach.. and the rest of the team is role players. Great move by Thomas again :) (y)
