He's quietly having a solid season with some impressive performances, such as this one. He won't be mistaken for one of the great centres of all time, but he's the kind of big man that fits well in an offense where a guard or forward handles most of the scoring load.

I remember the 1st game against the Lakers this season, he had like 10 boards and 10 points I think (double double) after the 1st quarter. Hes hitting the jumpers from just inside and makes nice hustle points (tip-ins, 2nd chance baskets etc..) and shooting with a nice FG%. Maybe no All-Star numbers, but like Andrew said, he fits perfectly with Golden State where they have Van Exel, Richardson and Robinson as their main scoring guys

Dampier also made some noise last season, but I think then he had some dry spells. I remember him comming out of the blocks like a mad man!

This season he's getting 10 points, 10 rebounds, 1.5 blocks and shooting 50% from the floor but just under 60% from the line.

I think people had big expectations for him when he was drafted by the Pacers (the impression that I got anyway) and he was considered a bust for some time. But I guess people forgot about him while in GS and that has allowed him to quietly grow. I like seeing a big guy succeed, and at 6'11 - 265 it's good to see that he actually (statistically atleast) plays like a big man (y)

Yea Dampier has been impressive, especially on the offensive glass. Last season he had Foyle in his shadows all the time and didn't get the minutes, but with Foyle injured he has gotten the time and is producing.

GS fans have been calling for this guy's head on a platter because he's been a bust so far up until this season and has a big contract. props to dampier.

i think the difference between him now and his other seasons in GS is that he's healthy and has remained so. in the past, he put up some monster games, but he couldn't put up consistent numbers- either due to him getting hurt or foyle being a putting in productive minutes.

Yea I read an article with him saying he didn't feel as free on the court, because he know if he made mistakes Foyle would probably be coming in for him. But know he has the chance to go out there and play his game, and if he makes a mistake won't necessarily be take out for it.

Well Foyle is back and played his second game with limited minutes today, the last game he did nothing in 3mins of play. Today he recorded 3 boards, 1 block and 1 t.o, and shot 0-2 from the field.

Im just hoping his return won't put pressure on Dampier and scre up his game, I don't know if he'll be in the rotation soon, but its very likely since he is also a leader on the team.
