A collection of memorable stories from NBA Live's franchise and career modes.

"We wish Jordan were 7-feet, but he isn't. There just wasn't a center available. What can you do? Jordan isn't going to turn this franchise around. I wouldn't ask him to. He's a very good offensive player, but not an overpowering offensive player."
-- Rod Thorn, then Bulls general manager, after selecting Jordan in the 1984 NBA Draft
Man was he dead wrong then.

if so then MUHHAHHHAHHAH
thats pretty funny.
Yes, he actually said that. I guess he underestimated his eye for talent.
Chicago 110, New York 87
The four game losing streak was matched by a four game winning streak, another impressive win and the first of the new year (though I actually played this game last year). The game was over by the end of the third.
Boston 100, Chicago 91
I couldn't extend the winning streak to five, as Paul Pierce once again proved difficult to contain. I made some costly mistakes down the stretch that led to the nine point loss.
Chicago 114, Phoenix 103
The final score doesn't really do justice to the game. It was a close contest throughout, but I managed to pull away in the fourth for a comfortable win. Since Curry hasn't been playing well lately, I moved him to the bench and started Chandler at centre (Chandler has been my sixth man since the KG trade). Both Chandler and Curry had impressive games.
Chicago 106, Miami 104
I moved Curry back into the starting lineup, and he had another good performance. If I can get him involved early, he tends to play well at both ends. Another close game all the way, I somehow managed to keep the lead late in the fourth. Eddie Jones was a thorn in my side, as he lit me up from downtown after I took away the lane. With the score 106-104 in my favour, EJ had a shot to tie, but fortunately it bounced off the back of the rim and Curry grabbed the rebound as time expired.
Current record: 20-15

Chicago 120, Portland 107
A very fast paced game, similar to the contests of the early 90s. I held the lead pretty much throughout the game, cruising to an easy blowout victory. Eddy Curry had a huge game, with 36 points and 13 rebounds. Kirk Hinrich dished out 12 assists, and Tyson Chandler and Donyell Marshall both scored in double figures. Decent performances from Crawford and KG (a fairly quiet 18 points and 8 rebounds in 29 minutes), all in all a good game.
Chicago 96, New Orleans 82
I've clinched the season series with New Orleans 3-0, which is encouraging given that they currently have the best record in the Central Division and are also at the top of the Eastern Conference standings. Curry only played 20 minutes, though he played well while he was on the floor. Chandler and Marshall were simply playing too well. I only played eight players against the Hornets, meaning Eddie Robinson picked up his first DNP-CD for the season. KG was Player of the Game with 19 points and 20 rebounds.
I'm now 22-15, fourth in the East (just half a game ahead of the fifth place Knicks).
Trade Rumours
I've been shopping Eddie Robinson and Jay Williams to the Cavaliers, Bucks, Wizards and Sonics. As you might have guessed, those are the four worst teams in the league (the Bucks are 9-28), and I'm very interested in having a shot at a top 10 pick. With KG a free agent and Pippen possibly due to retire, I'd like to have some insurance in the form of a lottery pick. Moving Jay Will and E-Rob for draft picks would also free up some cap space, which would give me even more money to spend should KG decide to leave (around 400000 points). Since Robinson is in and out of the rotation (playing sparsely when he does get into the game) and I'm set at point guard, giving up those two guys wouldn't hurt me in the short-term; and they'd be giving me something back down the road.

Try a trade for Michael Redd if you cant get a draft pick. He's got good range and can score.
Sat Jan 03, 2004 12:34 pm
There wouldn't be much playing time for him though. Crawford and Pippen are playing well at shooting guard and small forward respectively. Besides, dumping Jay Will and E-Rob for picks or players whose contracts will expire at the season's end will give me some cap space.

Do you have any other scrubs that you may trade? Guys on IR maybe?
Sat Jan 03, 2004 1:03 pm
The only player I have on the IR is Jay Williams (61 overall). The other expendable players are Corie Blount (49), Lonny Baxter (54 - good player, but stuck behind too much talent), Tim Hardaway (50) and Eddie Robinson (59). Robinson, Baxter and Williams are the only players with any trade value.

Great thread Andrew... I'm thinking instead of a trade, Michael Jordan should make a comeback
Sat Jan 03, 2004 5:38 pm
I was actually thinking about that, but I'm playing this Dynasty on the PS2, so it can't be done.

Hey Andrew,
In my bulls season (PC - superstar 10 mins, i play all games) ive managed to turn around my losing season! Im currently on a 14 game winning streak, so im a bit worried that I kind of have the game worked out if you get my drift. Ive had some close ones though.... including an OT game.
I get great production from e-rob off the bench, around 12 a game. When he started, while Jalen Rose was injurred in the midst of my losing streak, E-rob scored 47 points in one of his starts. I dont get much out of Jay though either. I score mostly with sf, sg, and pg.... i dont score inside with my centres of power forwards much, havent mastered that part of the game yet.....

Good update man, keep it up, enjoy reading it,

Thanks Tales.
I know what you mean Jase. I don't mind the occasional loss, though I never lose on purpose. I simply fail to play a good enough game. Losses do make things feel a little more realistic, and keep things interesting. Right now I'm building up a nice winning streak, but I'm sure as soon as I get too complacent, I'll drop an easy game.

My streaks at 15 now, just beat Detroit... but only in the last few minutes. I think im winning coz im playing alot better now and concentrating for the whole game.... especially on defense......
Im sure I will lose again soon..... ive got out of jail a few times

Any particulary tough games coming up for you?
Wed Jan 07, 2004 9:11 am
Gday Andrew
Last night we beat Memphis on their floor. It was our first game against them. They were winning at various stages but we managed to sneak away with the W. Streak @ 16.
We've got the Knicks next, I would expect to beat them though, but you never know. Havent got too many tough games in January schedule.
Thu Jan 08, 2004 10:54 am
The January schedule has been fairly kind to me so far. I've only lost to Boston (100-91).

There are a few interesting ones coming up. Next is the Wizards, which have actually been tough to shake off previously... they beat me early in the season.
Sat Jan 10, 2004 12:18 pm
I also lost the opener to the Wizards; it's always nice to gain revenge.
Sat Jan 10, 2004 12:42 pm
I got my revenge
Beat them by one point 112-111 in an incredible game. See my thread or my website for the recap!
Next I have atlanta. I actually got totally crushed by them early in the season... lost by something like 35 points.... and here i am now on an 18 game winning streak!! Hope I crush them back, more revenge

Got any more recaps or info about your dynasty andrew?
My streak ended at 19 wins, but bounced back with 2 wins over raptors and clippers. Started the huge road trip that starts end of Jan til early feb.... about 7 games..... and not long till the all star game!
Tue Jan 13, 2004 5:09 pm
I haven't played any games for a while; in fact, I've fallen behind the real season. As soon as I play some more games, I'll post some recaps.
