I go off the Shane thing towards Bragging Rights. I have a feeling that Ted DiBiase might interfere in the Iron Man match.

A face turn does appear to be imminent and a feud with Orton should help elevate him. Randy being the champion poses a bit of a problem though as I think Ted will need to beat him to truly take that next step and they can't really book it that way if Randy is the champion as it's a bit too soon to put a major title on DiBiase. The Iron Man match does present a good opportunity to do the switch and get the title off Orton at the same time - especially since it's anything goes - but then we have another title swap between Orton and Cena and the main event scene on RAW remains stale. It'd be an alright way of ending the Orton/Cena angle and starting something new with Orton/DiBiase though.

I knew that when you're turning somebody heel (Batista), it makes no sense at all to send a top face (Cena) to Smackdown to even it out, even when you had the perfect opportunity.

It's being reported that there was never any intention on WWE's part for John Cena to bleed during last night's Bragging Rights PPV. Cena was legitimately busted open the hard way, and when it happened, it's being said that Vince McMahon began to panic back stage, and he ordered that Cena be cleaned up immediately which is why the clock was stopped during the bout.

Because of WWE's strict "no-blood" policy due to their TV PG rating, Vince made the decision to have Cena treated during the bout as opposed to after so that WWE could avoid any issues with upset fans. Furthermore, it's being said Cena and Orton were supposed to work part of the match in the crowd, however that idea was nixed during the bout as Vince wanted to avoid a situation where Cena could have possibly bled on a fan. If that were to happen, WWE could have faced serious consequences

Nearly all of them. Had a jolly good time watching it. The bragging rights matches were probably the weakest ones. Just to see 'Tista grow a set and nearly kill Rey Rey is worth it alone, probably. Miz and Morrison showed they are the future and had a deserved this is awesome chant. Psycho Orton was great even though he had to fight Captain Superman.

I think they shouldn't have switched the WWE title in Hell in a Cell since they had another switch in Bragging Rights. But since Vince likes this trend... What the hell?

Great to see Taker retain and Batista's heel turn should freshen up his character, though it reminds me a little of the Rey/Eddie feud in the months leading up to the latter's untimely death. It'll admittedly be a little different this time since they can play up the David vs Goliath aspect a lot more, as well as a real bully aspect that will solidify the heel turn. Just leave the kids out of it this time.

just watched Raw, pretty good show story-wise, I like the shake ups and hopefully the start of a nice push for kofi, but...


there are 2 things I am really, really, starting to get sick of with the WWE, besides the PG thing

1, fucking commercial breaks between matches. In this RAW we miss out on I think 3 matches mid-match and the complete beginning of the big show HHH match..... totally breaks any momentum or interest for me for the match that I am watching.

2, self aware "jokes" just like family guy, i really dont like these. Cena talking about how "we" are sick of Cena Orton (which I am, just I dont want to be told that from one of the characters) and then Swagger coming out telling Miz that no one is watching, what I thought, was starting to be a decent match (Bourne is pretty cool)

Anyway, the shakeups are good, stories seem to be going into a good place, just too bad that they will probably scrape away all of this buildup in 3 weeks are Survivor Series and start completely new again.

I'd agree with that. I'm over the guest host gimmick as well, though admittedly it does depend heavily on the guest in question. If they could set something up with The Rock or Stone Cold hosting, then I'm all for it.

The good ones are the ones who get involved and actually have an impact/purpose on the show. Not the "oh by the way my script says to announce a title match tonight..." which seems to be the majority. DiBiase and Rhodes worked because they had ties to the current show, not just as former wrestlers but their sons are in Legacy and that was used to influence storylines. Shaq got heavily involved and was great throughout, Mayweather made sense because he's been involved with the WWE fairly recently, Seth Green got involved, Bob Barker was great because he had a gimmick. They NEED a reason to be there, not just "because I'm famous". I also think if they can't get a huge name every week they should just not have it that week. The Rock and Stone Cold would be perfect, if Mickey Rourke got in the ring he'd be good. Brock Lesnar would never in a billion years do it but he'd be interesting.

I'd agree with those ratings. On paper, I'd say Trish Stratus was a good idea but it was kind of a flop in execution.

i forgot my other annoyance with the recent WWE stuff

why does nearly every face wrestler need to have a People's Elbow type of move? the moves kill nearly all momentum and "realism" of the match, oh I just lay here staring at your cock while you go ballin', brush your shoulders off, or fucking dance on top of me.

The Rock's elbow worked because it followed up a chair shot, rock bottom, something big which gave a reason for why the opponent stayed down while he moved his arms and threw shit.

In these matches with the above offenders, they just kind of happen after the opponent falls down when they have no reason to just lay there other than playing opossum.

I don't know, you could really say the same of the People's Elbow (though it was more credible when it followed the Rock Bottom or another "high impact" move) and a lot of other moves throughout history. I think that's just professional wrestling: sometimes the suspension of disbelief is pushed to the limit. A good example of that would be when a wrestler lying on the mat gets his foot up to boot a wrestler who's jumping from the top turnbuckle in the face. It looks cool and all, but it doesn't really make sense for the person coming off the top rope, as you have to wonder what kind of move they're performing on a downed opponent where they're landing on their feet. One of those things we're not supposed to think about.

I'd agree that some of those moves are corny though. I guess some wrestlers are just talented and/or popular enough to pull them off and make them look credible. I'm sure the People's Elbow has had its fair share of detractors over the years as well.
