Jefferson wasn't a good fit with the Bucks, and he will be a sensational fit with the Spurs who have been rather weak at the 3 ever since Elliot left.

I applaud both teams for this one. (Y)

i dont see how this is a balanced trade

No shit, I'm sick of these teams trading good players for "expiring contracts," which they don't do shit with!!! Just look at Memphis, they're serious contenders after getting screwed in the Gasol trade right?? Seriously who the fuck wants to play for the Bucks?? Good job douchebag Bucks GM, I'm sure all the season ticket holders are flocking to see Francisco Oberto!!! Bucks can have tons of cap room, doesn't change the fact that they will suck ass for the forseeable future.

Sorry about nitpicking but they gave away Oberto to Detroit and his name is Fabricio.

hmmmm and I thought the Spurs healthy would have posed a risk to the Lakers last season... and now they have Jefferson. Looking forward to seeing if he fits into the team. (Y) Great trade.

Yeah, great trade. I expect to see that the All-Star voting in the West will get a lot tougher.

The Spurs got pretty good value on that trade and from the Bucks' perspective it's a standard move for a rebuilding team, taking on a couple of expiring contracts and freeing up playing time for others in the rotation. Still, having Jefferson seems like overkill and while it looks alright on paper, I'm still skeptical than acquiring Jefferson equals a championship (or at least a Finals appearance).

Maybe not Jefferson alone is the answer for a championship. Pop will change him into a role player like he did with Michael Finley. If he does his role, that is a big plus to the ring quest. And believing that Bowen will be released and signed again

$14 mil is an awful lot to pay for a role player.

At least Jefferson is able to play, unlike these guys:

Allen Iverson
Stephon Marbury
Tracy McGrady
Steve Francis
Jermaine O'Neal
Michael Redd
Amare Stoudemire
GILBERT ARENAS
Ben Wallace
Raef LaFrentz

Why is it that Agent Zero's name is in caps?

Spurs get a good yet overrated player while the Bucks get the cap relief they desperately need. As simple as that.

cap relief is only worth a damn if you can sign worth while players, so i guess we will have to wait and see what happens. as for the bucks, they were going no where with jefferson so its no risk really

bucks now have the cap to resign the almighty Charlie V & Ramon Sessions! you guys forget who coaches the bucks: Scott Skiles. Alexander isn't the one getting extra pt. it's probably going to be Luc Richard mbah a moute

I'm skeptical that Jefferson is a good fit with the current spurs.. at least on offense. he should see a lot of open jumpers from all the attention that Duncan & TP get but that's not his game. Finley at least could hit the open 3 and had a great midrange game. i wonder how he's going to handle being a 3rd/maybe even 4th option after being a ballhog the last few seasons

Well said :applaud:. Incedently wasn't Popovich the one who complained the loudest when Gasol was traded to the Lakers for virtually nothing, oh wait Kwame Brown was included in that trade so that makes it less than nothing. He said we should have a committee that should block these types of trades, guess he changed his mind on this one, guess getting rolled in the first round will do that to you.

I respect Popovich and he's entitled to his opinion, but he missed the mark with his comments on the Gasol trade. I think everyone could see how lopsided that one was but you can't criminalise (or in this case, simply prohibit) sheer stupidity. If a team agrees to a trade that's terrible for them, they've only themselves to blame and there's plenty of people they have to answer to in that situation without having to be punished by the league or have the trade blocked in the first place. At some point, it's simply a case of "buyer beware".

Just when I thought the Spurs are falling out in the West, they pulled out a trade that keeps them in the race again. Hopefully Jefferson will be able to make the Spurs more entertaining to watch and not so boring like they used to be.

I know, the Spurs have always been one of the best teams in the West yet they're not making a lot of noise. However, to me, they really were boring to watch. Eventhough they get the job done, their playing style and everything lacks excitement. Maybe changing their colour themes from Black/Grey/White to something else might help, I dont know.

Will adding fuschia, orange, and teal to the silver and black add more excitement? Fiesta!
