 ,Cavs think that LeBron can handle the scoring by himself?or Miles is gonna average 15-20ppg.?any of the guys who the Cavs got from Boston won't score much more than 12ppg for the Cavs...good trade for the Celts as they got a second option on offense.

Imo this trade was in favor for the Celts cause Battie won't get a lot of minutes behind Zydrunas and Mihm was playing greatest basketball of his career according to espn.com,so I don't see anything good for the Cavs. They get cap space after this season when Williams's contract expires.

I really dont know who got better out of this, with Davis out of Cleveland, Lebron doesnt need to worry about Davis getting enough ball touches anymore. So they can focus their offense on him. with Williams, Battie and Brown they hella upgraded their bench, no doubt. Boston on the other end, needed a go 2 guy instead of Paul Pierce, and Im pretty sure Ricky can be that guy, as long as he wont mess up their Team chemistry

WTF?!?!?!? that was the first thing i thought as a celtics fan..... RICKY? after watching him play like $hiET this year... then i was like.. okay Milm for Battie.. Pretty fair.. Battie is better but he is banged up.. They'll miss eric williams not for his scoring because now they have chemistry killa Ricky who can score.. but how bout the hustling and the loose balls.. ? Okay Eric was banged up like hell.. and he is getting old.. Good trade ONLY if ricky can draw the defence and play within the system...

Celtics are scoring ... very balanced... Pierce is playing his best ball starting this month.. they were winning.. I'm not sure the trade came at the right time.. but this makes Celtics potentially a high seed in the East.. or screw them over but they'll still don't lose much i guess. they gained talent..

Horrible, Horrible timing for this trade. The Celtics are streaking having won 5 straight games and tonight they will play the T-Wolves and will have a short roster due to the trade. Great trade for both teams, they both got what they wanted. Cleveland wanted to get rid of Ricky "Team Poison" Davis due to the fact that he was slowing the development of King James. For the Celtics, they needed some front court help and more offense, Mihm will be very solid but the impact that Davis will have will be hard to predict.

Battie is OK :? I mean come on...he is better than that dumbass Michael Stewart who is so slow even a turtle can pass him but if he was in his old days like he was on the Kings the Celts would get the WIN out of this trade

Boston gets more scoring out of the trade, but a weaker team overall.

Cleveland gets deeper out the trade, but not enough scoring.

I say Cleveland got the best deal because they got more players that can play and at least score 10 ppg so if u combine their averages with Ricky its not a big loss. The thing is Cleveland couldve got more for Ricky instead of doing that trade with Boston.

I agree about trading today and not tomorrow, because they will have like 8 or 9 players for Minnesota, missing two small forwards plus Tony Battie and Raef LaFrentz, maybe Pierce will score 70 and play 48 minutes, I doubt this very much, so the team will really have to pick it up, if all this is official and the players do not play.

Image
Kedirck Brown could really become a good player and they should have given him some time, but the Celtcis never do, look at Joe Johnson in Phoenix, and Chauncey Billups was drafted #3 overall by Boston and later dumped, now he might he's right up there with Jason Kidd and Baron Davis as point guards that lead their team.

Image
Eric Williams - really did hustle and I liked him as a person, I didn't know him, but I mean he seemed very much a Celtic guy and worked very hard for them. He also was a steady defender.

Image
Tony Battie - I wanted him out, but only because LaFrentz was added, now with Mihm, who might be as good as LaFrentz, it's fine with me, Mihm has a small contract option next year and that's cool, Battie was making some good money around 6 million for the next few years.

Image
Chris Mihm - I mentioned him already, he's replacing LaFrentz and Battie I guess.

Michael Stewart - Who the fuck is this? (I know of him, never seen him get any minutes though, doubtful he knows how to do much, must be a salary thinghy. He better rebound and give the ball to Pierce, that's it.

Image
Ricky Davis - I see another trade coming here, maybe not, but this clown doesn't fit in with the Celtics way of doing things, Dick Harter, the Celtics defensive coach will be in this guy's face for a month. He can score and makes horrible choices more than he does anything else, but if he can get some dribble-drives and kickouts and push the ball on the break and finish with some dunks, it'll be okay. I hope they have a plan to move him with a draft pick or two and get another small forward.

They must really love Jiri Welsch to trade two small forwards.

This leaves Welsch and Davis to play the small forward, it used to be E.Williams, Welsch and Brown.

I have learned Boston got in this deal the 2nd Round Pick they sent to Cleveland in the Jumaine Jones for J.R.Bremer/Bruno Sundov deal this summer.

Oh well fuck the winning streak I guess.

Pierce East player of the week.

Both teams were able to achieve something by making the trade, but I don't think either team really improved their roster. Boston added another capable scorer, but as Mike said, lost a guy who's been a key contributor the last few seasons (Williams) and gave up on a young player (Brown). Cleveland rid themselves of Davis who clashed with Silas, but they gave up one of their best scorers.

Boston probably got the best end of the deal talent-wise, though Cleveland has made a trade that should help team chemistry and allow them to build the team around James without any backlash from Davis. I don't think either team will get much worse having made the trade (though the Cavs don't have too far to fall anyway), but they probably won't be significantly better than they already were.

At least Davis has a better chance of being productive in Boston...cause unlike Bron- Pierce is a proven star so i hope Ricky won't be jealous of Paul and angry he's the second guy on O...

I really don't think this trade benifits either team greatly. Cleveland got rid of Ricky Davis and Michael Stewart, who were both having problems with Paul Silas, and Chris Mihm, who was finally starting to get better. They lost scoring in Davis and gained a rebounder in Tony Battie and an all-around contributer in Eric Williams. Boston gained more scoring but gave up Battie's and William's veteran experience. Chris Mihm could become a good starting center for Boston.

i would rather be on the cav side of the deal than the celt.

........... didnt ainge trade walker because he didnt like his attitude? fat chance getting a better one out of ricky who'll undoubtebly make twan look like santa (not bad santa mind you  the old jolly ho ho ho ho im on crack good one).

why else? think quick, what other team in the past two years has had a multitude of good young players who could score easily but just didnt have 'it'? thats right, the clippers! you win the grand prize of nothing! no one wants to be the clippers, everyone wants to be the spurs. what are the spurs? one superstar, some good players with team first attitudes (they're working on tony, dont worry), and a bunch of good role players.

its a lot easier to play bball when you're not confused, and its confusing when you have more than 2 players who demand or want or should be scoring at least 17-20. a lot simpler when you have a focus and lots of people who understand that (ricky never will), and i think thats what the cavs want.

this is basically the same situation that the sixers were in back in '97 when they traded jerry stackhouse: rookie point guard comes in, doesn't work well with the teams starting shooting guard, shooting guard gets traded.

I really do not think this was a bad trade for the Cavs b.c its not like they were winning anyways, now they can use the inside outside game of Z and Lebron and I think it'll work really well. They didn't lose any atheleticsm since the got Kedrick and maybe he can become a better player in cleveland. The also got 2 great role players in Battie and Williams, I think it was a great trade. The only problem is who will be taking all those end of quarter shots meh....

Ricky Davis needs one of those super discipline coaches but i don't know if Jim O Brien will be that for him. Chris Muhm is a great addition, the guy can score, has range to 17', good rebounder and is a shot blocking presence. If Lafrentz wasn't injured and out for the season the C's would have a pretty good inside rotation. Micheal Stewart is just a guy that goes out there and plays defense, he worked on his shot tho but is not a guy you look for offense from, great blocker tho and was getting more minutes in Cleveland this year than he has gotten in the past 3years.
