Draft Class Mod *Now With Logo

Postby Arcane on Tue May 26, 2009 3:15 pm

Hey Guys I had this idea today which I talked to Andrew about a few moments ago and well I thought i'd share with you all incase you were inerested in helping out making or playing.

Image
The Mod is a Draft Class Mod which the title of this thread states. It involves the top 15 draftees from the East and top 15 from the West from the 1980's to 2009. This Mod would include Jerseys, Logos, Courts, Players, Rosters, Accessories and so forth.

I am ready to jerseys as I already have a few done for something like this with a few logos too. Another beauty of this is alot of draft players have been done through historial teams and Live 05-09/PC so we do have some things done to help kick it off.

Let me know if you are interested in helpig or are interested in playing this Mod.

So how does this draft class mod works? When we play the game, we can install these top 15 draftees to their respective year they were drafted by the respective teams? Or do we play with these top 15 draftees as a team sort of thing?

There will be approx 58-60 teams with 29-30 east teams 29-30 west teams of the top 15 draft picks for each conference on each team.

My understanding is that we were going to do teams comprised of the best players of each class, one class per team.

Sounds like fun... I'm not a patcher but I'll love to test the beta versions and give my 2 cents worth...

Or we could do top 15 from each year if there are set limitations and what people want to do/play

The draftees will still be playing for their drafted teams? What about those who were drafted but traded to other teams like Kobe was drafted by Charlotte but traded to LA? Which team will he be playing for ?

no it will be like a All-Star team theme so no like Chicago Bulls or Phoenix Suns team. I'll have all the uniforms done and logos and help out with courts/stadiums.

We might have to pick and choose, we should be able to field 12 man teams at least but 15 from each class could be difficult (or we'd be pushing it with a few of the classes).

let me see if I can't come up with a good base stadium for us to recolor for each year

or maybe even a stadium for the 80s teams, 90s teams, 00 teams....if I catch the bug again.
Opinions are my own.

I guess we should also map out the teams so the appropriate players can be created. The obvious ones will already be in the rosters since we can use the NBA Live PC Project rosters as a base, it's just a matter of rounding out all the teams.

When you say "Top 15" from each class, you do mean the 15 best right? Love the idea..

Certainly. Simply doing the actual top fifteen in most draft classes would eliminate at least a few players people would want to play with and include at least a few they wouldn't want. There's no way we'd include Mel Turpin over John Stockton in the 1984 class, for example. ;)

I also wanted to mention there could also be a shoe patch using shoe patches from 04 to 09 there have been a lot of retro shoe patches done and can give them a second life with what players wore during draft seasons. I can help put this together with the shoes but would need help with database stuff.
