I'd still say it's the best bet on PC, at least NBA Live-wise.

I just got 06 in the mail and I love how it plays. I'm having a tough time getting patches for it though.

Yes, a lot of the old patches were hosted on rapidshare and unfortunately no longer accessible; we'll need to clean out the database in that regard. However, stay tuned to the NBA Live PC section as that project's intention is to renovate NBA Live 06. :)

No problem. If you do come across any dead links, feel free to shoot me an email and I'll get rid of the entry if I can't find an updated link (which is probably going to be the case after all this time).

More advanced moves are performed with more complex movements of the right analog stick (half-circles, etc).

These are the NBA Live Series I enjoyed most without patches installed:
1.NBA Live 2004
2.NBA Live 2003
3.NBA Live 2006
4.NBA Live 2002

And These are NBA Live Series I enjoyed most after installing some patches:
1.NBA Live 08
2.NBA Live 07
3.Nba Live 06

I think the funnier to play is NBA Live 2003 and the most realistic (after installing a gameplay patch, adusting some sliders and settings) is NBA Live 08
Generally NBA Live 08 is the one with the bettter potential and you can also get some very good graphics with some cyberfaces and a good lightning patch.

I enjoyed Nba live 03. Only basketball game I haven't gotten board of over the years.

Even making a Live 03 dynasty with the Suns.

I remember that in live 03 you could dunk from beyond the free throw line which was awesome, but my favorite remains the best Live ever. Live 2000, it is by far the most entraining I have ever played. That game had a heart, not like todays fucking lives. I do like Live 07 though, but not nearly as good as live 2000

I think NBA Live 2005 and NBA Live 06 surpassed NBA Live 2000 in some ways, though 2000 is certainly one of the best in the series and a landmark game of sorts with the first proper Franchise Mode being introduced.

I would say 2005 is the best.It has a tough defense, good soundtrack and a great graphic engine. Its the best live came out of the package.I had some good games with 06 and especially with 2003.09 is also good i think but non of these are as worth as 2005.

I don't think you can go wrong with 2005 or 06. 2000 was certainly another solid game but I think a lot of people would find it too outdated and there are fewer recent updates for it these days.

For me live 03 and 04 were the most enjoyable I thought to patch with customart the custom kicks and jerseys options (so good). Plus with the jerseys there was sleeve holes you could see through it wasn't like a thick wet suit. Only downside were player models with tanks arms really and the way the jerseys looked tucked in. The ability to add street modes and teams was great and the beach court I do miss too.

05 and 06 were good too jerseys were easy to modify 05 had wider shoulders for like Houston's jerseys the template was better compared to 03 & 04 but looked like that thick wet suit.

07 was a joke and never to be spoken of again.

08 was what 07 should of atleast been but not using their jersey template and numbering system change.

Live 09 is great on PS3 really been enjoying it but haven't really explored too much in it with game modes or started a dynasty yet I plan to over the next fortnight.

Live 10 is what i'm anxious about our 1st chance to see what Mike Wang has installed in the game play plus they seem to want to go back to a few culture things live used to have so i'm keen to see what they will do for that.

I don't know about that, in terms of the sim engine and some other bugs 08 is probably more of a mess than 07, at least after 07's been patched. But as most of us have agreed, neither is close to being the strongest PC release to date.

I'd certainly agree if it's 360/PS3 we're talking about when it comes to 08, certainly not a perfect game but nowhere near the disappointment the PC version was.
