How could you get blown out by the Hawks? And it looks like you need to start Timmy T. Dunleavy isn't working out.

damn... what ghappened to ur team ??
u went 2-5 in this update, that's an awful result for a NBA-Finals team

It's still way too early... Plus I got to the Finals last year as a 7th seed, so maybe we're a playoff team omly... now let's get to the playoffs again...

I think the difference is Tim Thomas who went from a 20ppg, 10rpg guy in last season's playoffs to a well....look at the stats and you will see....

Yes, that's true. One of the reasons I traded for Dubleavy is that in some dynastied I had simmed waaayyyy back , he was a scoring monster... Simmed games benefit his stats greatly, but maybe with Andrew's changes in the new rosters this has been toned down a bit... The only player that is a lock-on to improve your team's simmed results if you trade for him would be Peja Stojakovic... but I didn't want to pull off something unrealistic...

looks like you need to start Timmy T. Dunleavy isn't working out.

Yes, I'll probably use Mike as a 6th man. Timmy's stats are excellent for a 6th man in simmed games in Live... Let's see if he can be his old playoff self... :?:

December 17, 2005

Boston 87 – New York 108 (Record:13-12)
The trend continued, with the Knicks playing superbly on th eroad and utterly crap at home. This tiem around New York killed the Celtics, led by Jamal Crawford’s 28-5-5 game, and Odom’s 20. Paul Pierce had 22 for the home team, but could not prevent the blowout and his team’s 14th loss in 23 games so far.

December 20, 2005

Dallas 93 – New York 102 (Record:14-12)
The Knicks visited the Continental Airlines Center in Dallas for the first time since their heartbreaking loss in game 7 of the NBA Finals a few months ago, and made a statement by defeating thir opponents with a good, solid 4th quarter performance. JC had 20 points along with 7 assists, Odom added 18 pts – 11 rebs, but the difference maker was Mike Dunleavy, scoring 17 points off the bench, 10 of which consecutively in crucial moments during the 4th. Mike has embraced his 6th man role well so far. Finley led Dallas in scoring with 20, but shot only 8/23 from the field.

December 21, 2005

New York 100 – LA Lakers 94 (Record:15-12)
Finally a win at the Garden for the Knicks, against the Lakers too. Tim Thomas and Jamal Crawford led the charge with 23 points each, while JC added playing excruciating defense on Stephon Marbury who could not even reach double digits in points. Kobe and Caron Butler had 27 and 21 respectively, but the 4th quarter comeback they attempted to perform was not completed with a victory.

December 24, 2005

Cleveland 93 – New York 104 (Record:16-12)
Another road victory for the Knicks. Tim Thomas’28points, 9 rebounds resulted in his best game of the season ,and JC added 10 assists. It helped our cause when Ilgauskas fouled out early in the 4th and LeBron James had 5fouls during most of the second half. King James managed to score 34 points in the end, but it was New York’s team play that won the game.

December 26, 2005

New York 111 – San Antonio 113 (Record:16-13)
The Spurs barely edged out the Knicks in this one, breaking their winning streak at 4 and providing them with more questions about why they keep on playing in the Garden as if the were playing in an open court in the middle of the Sahara desert. JC had 28 points and Lamar Odom had 21pts –15rebs – 9ast, but not even the two of them combined were a match for Tim Duncan , who put up 28 points, grabbed 16 boards, threw 8 dimes and swatted 7 shots.

December 27, 2005

Milwaukee 104 – New York 97 (Record:16-14)
Even with Michael Redd out with injury, the Knicks still managed to throw this game away. The frontcourt trio of Thomas, Odom and Magloire had a blast with each of them scoring 20 points or more, but in the end they fell to Desmond Mason’s stellar play. Mason had 19points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in only 20 minutes off the bench. Keith Van Horn, who returned to the Bucks last summer after a short stint with the Mavs that gave him a title, led his team in scoring with 28 points.

December 29, 2005

LA Lakers 91 – New York 88 (Record:16-15)
The Knicks committed regular suicide in this game. After leading with 15 in the start of the 4th quarter, a Lakers’ charge led by the amazing Caron Butler who had 30 points and 14 rebounds resulted in a 33 – 15 quarter outscore that handed LA the win, even with Kobe Bryant having a season low with 9 pts. Odom had 18 for the Knicks.

December 31, 2005

LA Clippers 93 – New York 100 (Record:17-15)
Second consecutive game at Staples Center for the Knicks, this time facing the Clippers. Tim Thomas was once again the key to a New York victory on the road, finishing in 35 minutes of game action with 25 points and 14 rebounds, teaching Dunleavy a thing or two about SF duties… Houston added 18 points and JC 9 assists, and put Chris Kaman’s effort (17pts – 17rebs) to waste.

Image

The really bad news, and I mean REALLY BAD news, coming after this important road victory, is that Lamar Odom tore his Achilles tendon after awkwardly landing from a rebounding attempt. The team doctor took his tests on Lamar and has just called me to inform that he will be out for approximately 3 weeks. Ouch. With the team struggling to find any consistency so far and the bench thin on big men behind Brian Grant, things are not looking so bright for the team’s record in January. Let’s hope we go through this plight unscathed… Now we are going to move Tim Thomas at the 4 and Dunleavy will start at the 3.

You'd be #1 if you kept your roster as is after going to the Finals.

With Odom hurt, you shouldn't be in that much trouble. You are in good position in the standings because your not too far from first place in your division. Good luck without Odom.

January 1, 2006

Detroit 119 – New York 98 (Record:17-16)
The score in the second half alone was 76 – 38 for the Pistons… Need I say more? After a great first half, the Knicks led their opponents by 17 and were looking good for the win, even without Odom in the lineup. But then Detroit exploded and turned the rest of the game into a never-ending nightmare for us. Chauncey Billups scored 37 points with 6/6 three pointers, while Hamilton and Prince added 24 and 20 respectively. JC and Magloire had 21 points each for the Knicks, but most of them in the first half.

January 3, 2006

Portland 102 – New York 88 (Record:17-17)
Another collapse in the second half resulted in a loss for the Knicks, with their record at exactly .500. Zach Randolph and Derek Anderson did not meet much resistance offensively and scored 24 and 21 points respectively. Zach also added 14 rebounds. Tim Thomas was once more the main contributor to New York’s offense with 19, with his efforts proving to be in vain at the end.

January 5, 2006

New York 113 – Boston 95 (Record:18-17)

Don’t let the final score fool you, it was a very close game only to open up late in the 4th , with the Knicks mounting a winning offensive charge, spearheaded by Jamal Magloire who scored all of his 10 points in that period alone. Tim Thomas was once again the best player in a white and blue uniform, scoring 24 and grabbing 12 boards. JC added another 22 points, while Paul Pierce had 24 pts – 10 rebs for the Celtics.

Image

January 6, 2006

New York 119 – Phoenix 95 (Record:19-17)
Tim Thomas had another Odom like showing, finishing this game with 20 points, 10 assists and 6 rebounds. Mike Dunleavy handled the starter role perfectly and put up 22 point son the board. No less than 7 players on the Knicks’ roster scored double figures, making Amare Stoudemire’s 29 for the Suns seem like pittance.

January 10, 2006

New York 77 – Memphis 93 (Record:19-18)
With only the backcourt duo of Jamal Crawford and Allan Houston reaching double figures in points, the Knicks did not stand much chance of defeating the Grizzlies at Madison Square Garden. Mike Miller scored 22 for Mamphis, with Jason Williams and Bonzi Wells adding 17 and 16 respectively, to lead the visitors to an easy road win.

January 13, 2005

Golden State 95 – New York 115 (Record:20-18)
An easy win all-in-all for the Knicks, who got themselves a nice double-digit lead around the middle of the 3rd quarter and never looked back until the final buzzer. Tim Thomas was once again the cornerstone of the victory with 24 points and 13 rebounds, while Mike Dunleavy buried his former team with 17 points, all in the 4th period. Jason Richardson scored 23 for the Warriors.

Image

January 16, 2006

Sacramento 95 – New York 112 (Record:21-18)
Another fine and easy road victory for the Knicks who seem to have found a rhythm in their play, even with Lamar Odom being out with an Achilles tendon injury. Jamaal Magloire had his best game of the season so far with 23 points and 16 rebounds, Mike Dunleavy had 22pts – 9 rebs – 6ast for New York, while Peja Stojakovic and Kenny Thomas both put up 23 , but couldn’t help the Kings to victory.

January 18, 2006

Atlanta 107 – New York 119 (Record:22-18)
Another fine high scoring victory on the road, this time against the totally refurbished since last season Hawks. Mike Dunleavy had a season high of 27 points, and Magloire too with 16 rebounds. JC complimented them well with 19 points, 8assists and 6 rebounds. Troy Murphy, acquired in the summer via free agency, scored 32 for Atlanta.

Image

January 19, 2006

Boston 92 – New York 91 (Record:22-19)
A heart-breaker in Bean town, with the Celts barely edging out the Knicks to grab a win. Ricky Davis had 28 points, and Paul Pierce just missed out on a triple double figure, with 21pts – 11 rebs – 9ast. Allan Houston led the Knicks with 24, but missed the deciding last shot. Maybe Piatkowski should have been on the court instead…

January 22, 2006

New York 109 – Houston 81 (Record:23-19)
The Knicks completely destroyed Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady and their posse at the Garden, playing solid defense and hitting above .550 from the field. Dunleavy led in scoring with 24, JC had a fine game at the point with 16pts – 12 ast, and Brian Grant came off the bench to grab 10 rebounds. From Houston, Yao had 27 pts – 13 rebs, but McGrady was nowhere to be seen on the court.

January 23, 2006

Charlotte 88 – New York 90 (Record:24-19)
The Bobcats put a scare on us bringing this contest to the wire at the end, but Glenn Robinson missed the open game-winning three, and out hearts returned to their rightful places. Tim Thomas scored 22, leading 6 Knicks with double figures, while on the other hand Charlotte based themselves upon Gerald Wallace’s 27pts – 16 rebs performance.

January 26, 2006

New York 110 – Philadelphia 83 (Record:25-19)
Brian Grant had the best game of his NY career, scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds coming off the bench for an injured Dunleavy and staying on the court for 40 whopping minutes, as compared to his 17.9 average. JC had 27 pts – 9ast, and Houston added another 22 to make for an easy win against the Atlantic division rivals, who only had Webber and AI in double figures.

January 28, 2006

Toronto 96 – New York 106 (Record:26-19)
Relatively easy win for the Knicks going into Canada. Jamal Crawford passed away the ball for an assist a career-high 14 times, scoring 25 points to boot. Mike Dunleavy hit another 26, while all the Raps could muster was a 3rd quarter charge led by Rafer Alston, who finished the game with 21 pints and 5 three-pointers.

Note: Next NBA review will take place just prior to the All-Star Break…

January 31, 2006

Today Lamar Odom was finally cleared by the team’s medical staff to play. He had been involved in practices all last week, but I wouldn’t risk playing him. There was no need to, with the team playing so well lately, either. Now let us hope that his return will not disrupt the in-game momentum we have formed.
