BLOCKBUSTER TRADE
Only a day before the start of the New York Knicks season they have made a trade, following through with the new faces policy 2004/2005 that owner Pol06 had guaranteed. He wants the Knicks have strong dynasty in the short to mid term future. So bring in a 24 to 27 year star was expected, However this was not to be at all as now former Orlando and Detroit star
Grant Hill has been given the all clear to resurrect his career. But the price was not cheap as future star
Jamal Crawford, quality veteran
Tim Thomas and promising rookie
Trevor Arizor were shipped off to Orlando. The deal also involved forward
Pat Garrity and young gun
DeShawn Stevenson leaving Orlando. Owner Pol06 had a very positive reaction when he heard the trade had gone through and was delighted even though knowing of Hill’s recent injury troubles. “I think he’s past his injury’s and will be as rearing and good to go as any younger player in the league, He is still a super fit man and we look forward to teaming him up with Stephon (Marbury).” With no centre being dealt in the deal the Knicks still look a little short in that position and owner Pol06 realises that “ Other team do have some stronger centres and we may well go after one either by trade or free agents very soon. But for now I’m very happy with the deal and believe we can replace what we lost and benefit even more from what we have gained.”
Grant Hill on coming to New York
“I can’t wait to get there and start all over, I am back from injury and ready to play. I think that this year may well be my best yet with the experience I have got over the years I am ready to let loose in Madison Square Garden.”
Jamal Crawford on leaving New York
“ I am very disappointed as I thought I had final proven myself to the owners and the entire basketball world and I was ready to become a key player along side Stephon (Marbury), but unfortunately I’ve been sent from a playoff contender to last years worst team. Looks like ill be starting.”
