Duplicates still makes me sad. I think it was Here Comes the Pain when they have the wrasslers' retro versions available as alternates. But I think ABA Undertaker is a separate wrestler from Deadman Undertaker.
The only difference between having them as alternate attires and as different characters is the ability to give them distinct movesets and entrances, and for the user to play them against each other. They still have to each have their own model, so it's not as though it takes up more space on the disc to do it this way rather than the other way.
Not that the disc has ever been anywhere near capacity in the history of wrestling games, either.
