I figured we'd make another thread since the Official thread is seldom updated
Anyways
East:
Miami vs Washington 4-1
I'd expect at least a win from Washington, but nothing more than that. The are thin up front and they live and die by their erratic big 3.
Detroit vs Indiana 4-2
If Detroit takes care of business i think they can wrap it up in 5, but they always manage to stuff something up. In the end they should win.
West:
SAS vs Seattle 4-2
SAS will be focused and know exactly what Sonics will bring to the table. The'll control the tempo and won;t allow Sonics to get too many offensive rebounds.
Phoenix vs Dallas 4-1
Phoenix should run through Dallas, they'll be fresh whereas Dallas just completed a 7 game series. Expect MVP Nash to show Dallas a thing or two.

East:
Miami vs Washington 4-0
As Wade said, Washignton has great gaurds, they got no bigs! Shaq will destroy them from the inside and theres not much the Wiz can do about it. I forsee a Miami sweep!
Detroit vs Indiana 3-4
This one will be close! I believe the hard grit the Pacers put in will get them over Detroit. Plus, the Pacers really want to get Reggie one final farewell trip to remember!
West:
SAS vs Seattle 4-3
The Spurs already took down the Nuggets' fast offence. The Sonics are exactly the same with mroe three point threats. This will be a tough series for the Spurs but watch Tim Duncan who will soon be at 100% to start dominating.
Phoenix vs Dallas 4-1
Dallas will have problems with the Suns. This is a no-brainer...
Sun May 08, 2005 2:00 pm
EAST:
MIAMI
VS
WASHINGTON
My prediction will be
Miami in 5. Areenas, Jamison and Hughes will get Wizards one win, but Flash and Superman will do their work!
DETROIT
VS
INDIANA
My prediction will be
Detroit in 6. Reggie and O'Neal will give Pistons a bit of work, but Detroit would easily go past them and Reggie will say "good bye" to NBA!
WEST:
PHOENIX
VS
DALLAS
Well this is simple. Suns will destroy Mavs( although I want them to win)
Suns in 5
SAN ANTONIO
VS
SEATTLE
This is going to be the longest series of the semi-finals! The teams will be fighting to the end. But Dunan will ead SAS to the Finals
San Antonio in 7

Eastern Conference
1.) Miami Heat
5.) Washington Wizards
I think the Wizards stand no chance whatsoever in this series. In fact, I think the Heat will have an easier time with the Wizards then they did the Nets. But, the Wiz may steal one, if their lucky. No way they win 2.
Heat win series 4-1
6.) Indiana Pacers
2.) Detroit Pistons
Prediction declined due to superstion of predictor.
Western Conference
1.) Phoenix Suns
4.) Dallas Mavericks
Dallas is going to expose the problems the Suns have in this series. They can run with the Suns, but they play better defense. Dirk will explode finally in this series. Everyone is predicting an easy win for Phoenix, but just watch guys. I think I'm correct here
Dallas wins series 4-3
2.) San Antonio Spurs
3.) Seattle Supersonics
Ill admit it, I thought Sacramento would beat Seattle in the first round. San Antonio will suceed where the Queens failed. Tim Duncan looks more healthy, Manu and Tony are playing great.
San Antonio wins series 4-2
Sun May 08, 2005 2:02 pm
Well.. the Sonics have a much better bench than Denver had....
Anyway, the Sonics have split the season series with the Spurs, and in the wins, Lewis and Allen had good games (scoring in high 20s). I think if Double Rs can have good games, and their bench steps it up a notch, then the Sonics have a really good chance in this. Also, JJ's performance in the playoffs has been quite surprising, lets hope he can carry this onto the Spurs series.

A second thread sounds like a good idea. I'll unsticky the first round one.
EAST
Miami Heat (1st) vs Washington Wizards (5th)
The Wizards had a little trouble with the shorthanded Chicago Bulls, dropping two games and coming within inches of losing the final two in the series. Miami is a much superior team and Shaq is on the mend. Washington's good enough to take a game at the MCI, but it's too early to start betting against Shaq and the Heat.
Miami wins 4-1
Detroit Pistons (2nd) vs Indiana Pacers (6th)
A series an interesting subplot, but the players surely understand the consequences of another incident so it seems unlikely we'll see another brawl. I don't think a lot of people are giving Detroit enough credit as the second seed and defending champions, though Indiana was a potential 60 win team before the brawl last November. Tough to predict, but I don't think it will go seven games.
Detroit wins 4-2
WEST
Phoenix Suns (1st) vs Dallas Mavericks (4th)
Should be a high scoring series, probably with a couple of games in the 120s. Dallas has rebounded well from the 0-2 opening to the series with Houston but the Suns are too good to fall this early. However, I think suggesting a sweep doesn't give the Mavericks enough credit.
Phoenix wins 4-2
San Antonio Spurs (2nd) vs Seattle Supersonics (3rd)
I don't anticipate any sweeps in the second round this year, this one should go to six. San Antonio is a great team and perhaps still the favourite to win it all, but Seattle has also had a fine year. That said, the Supersonics haven't been quite as strong in the second half of the year and as long as Tim Duncan's healthy, the Spurs are destined for the Western Finals.
San Antonio wins 4-2.

East:
Miami vs Washington 4-0
They did it against NJ, they'll do it again against Washington.
Detroit vs Indiana 4-2
Detroit's too strong for a hurting Indiana. I can't see Indiana winning more than two games.
West:
San Antonio vs Seattle 4-2
They'll know what to do against Seattle, nuff said.
Phoenix vs Dallas 4-2
Dallas will be tough as they can play the running game, but Phoenix will outscore them anyway.
Sun May 08, 2005 3:00 pm
MIAMI VS WASHINGTON
4-1
Even though Im rooting for the Wizards the Heat are prolly gonna win it easily.
DETROIT VS INDIANA
4-3
This will go down to the wire, but I expect the Pistons to win it as they do have the stronger roster. The Pacers did win twice in the regular season but the Pistons are way harder to beat in the playoffs, specially with Artest out for the Pacers.
SAN ANTONIO VS SEATTLE
4-2
If Bowen gets under Allen's skin it might be a good thing or a bad thing, depends on how Ray responds. The Sonics are capable of beating the Spurs but yet again like the Pistons the Spurs are way harder to beat in the playoffs.
PHOENIX VS DALLAS
4-2
The Suns should win this one but the Mavericks will fight hard, loosing KVH was bad for the Mavs who could have used his size and and scoring. If the Mavs can get good contributions from Howard and Daniels they might have a chance of beating the Suns.

sorry, shaq too much and too healthy now.
Detriot vs. Indiana Detriot 4-2
i dont see the pacers winning more than 2 games
WEST
Phoenix vs. Dallas Phoenix 4-2
going to be a shoot out all 6 games, phoneix will lose a couple due to their lack of depth in comparison to dallas.
But in the end, Amare will EAT the middle. Oh yeah, and posterize Bradley.
San Antonio vs. Seattle Spurs 4-1
Seattle struggled to close games out vs. the kings. Only reason I'm giving them 1 game is because they were able to beat the spurs in the season.

Eastern Conference

vs
The Wizards are going into this series without Jarvis Hayes and Kwame Brown, and against Shaq who has again been displaced from the MVP award. The Wizards big three can give Miami a fight, and the Wizards have a mismatch with whoever is guarding Jared Jefferies, but that will not be enough to give them the series. Wade and Arenas had some great battles earlier in the year, and either Arenas or Hughes will continue those battles. Miami is a more efficient offensive team, and a much better defensive team, and should take this one in 5 games.
#1 Miami vs #5 Washington - [Miami 4-1]

vs
This will be an interesting matchup as the Pacers and Pistons always are. The Pacers have been getting reinforcements lately, and look ready to battle. Jamaal Tinsley is back, and Jermaine O'neal is slowly getting back into playing form. If they can be relatively healthy, they can give Detroit a run for their money. Detroit didn't look their best against Philly, but they're always ready to fight. Their defensive prowess, great coaching, and overall talent will lead them to a close victory in 6 or 7 games.
#2 Detroit vs #7 Indiana - [Detroit 4-3]
Western Conference

vs
These 2 teams give us the anticipation of games with scores of
136-130. The high scoring Suns meet the high scoring Mavericks in a showdown, Nash battles against his former teammate Dirk, and Marion against his arch nemesis Josh Howard

. Both teams come prepared and ready to play with a lot of talent, athleticism and depth [that one is mostly just Dallas, the Suns is decent]. Dallas has shown to be a more capable defensive team, but the Suns for the most part can also play some very good defense when needed. Marion has been a good matchup against Dirk defensively, and his presence could be a series changer. This will definately be a close one, and look for Phoenix to take it in 7 games, but it could possibly go either way.
#1 Phoenix vs #4 Dallas - [Phoenix 4-3]

vs
The Spurs looked shaky early on when they lost to Denver in Game 1, but sine then they haven't shown any signs of turning back. Seattle played a good series against the Kings, and had a great performance from Jerome James who can be their series changer vs the Spurs. The Sonics have a mismatch against any Spurs defender with Rashard Lewis, and also have big men who are ready to get scrappy and dirty. The Spurs as we all know can play defense, and Ray Allen will meet Bruce Bowen. He better prepare his ankles for some pain. The Spurs are a superior team, and they should take this in 6 games. The Sonics will give a good fight, but just won't have what it takes.
#2 San Antonio vs #3 Seattle - [San Antonio 4-2]
Mon May 09, 2005 12:46 pm
Miami vs Washington
The Heat win 4 - 1
But after looking at today...it seems way too easy..maybe even 4- 0
Detroit vs Indiana
Pistons win 4 - 3
I think this should be fun. Indiana will play better than most people expect because THIS is a HUGE rivalry.
Phoenix vs Dallas
Suns win 4-2
Well hopefully Dirk isn't as invisible in the Houston series, but Suns clearly are the favorite.
Seattle vs San Antonio
San Antonio wins 4-1
Seattle is WAY too injured...Even "King" James can't save em...hahah.

Miami vs Washington 4-0
Detroit vs Indiana 4-3
SAS vs Seattle 4-1
Phoenix vs Dallas 4-1

an injured Ray Allen & Radman is bad news 4 sonics. Perhaps a sweep

San Antonio vs Seattle 4 - 1

i hope there is still room on that wagon indy cause i am definetly on it. i think dallas showed alot by coming back after losing the first 2 at home. takes alot to come back after something like that, infact i think i read they are only the 3rd team ever to do it. that kinda thing gives you a ton of confidence which is a major thing to have in the playoffs. so i am going with....
Dallas over Phoenix in 7
as for the rest of the games
Spurs over Sonics in 5
Heat over Wizards in 4
Detroit over Indiana in 6
i really wanted to say 7 for this one, and as i write this i am doubting my own prediction. i think detroit will definetly win but i also know that the pacers will not make it easy for them.

East:
Miami vs Washington 4-1
Somehow Washingtons backcourt is gonna steal a game. Maybe a 40 point game from Arenas in there. But thats basically it as a well rested Shaq will dominate and now EA SPORTS Live 06 coverboy Dwyane Wade feeds the ball to him as they move to the Conference Finals.
Detroit vs Indiana 3-4
Woah? You're thinking. You idiot! How can you not pick Detroit?!?!? I just dont think the Pistons will do that good guarding Jermaine O'Neal and Reggie Miller will play every game more intense then Detroit as the Pacers win it in 7. Also expect possibly a fight and a bunch of technical fouls and a few ejections.
West:
SAS vs Seattle 4-1
Now that Ray Allen is hurt, the series is basically over. He will come back and steal a game but that will be it against a great Spurs team.
Phoenix vs Dallas 4-1
A well-rested Phoenix team is coming in to face a tired out Dallas team. Dallas likes to run and Phoenix is the best at doing that. Expect and easy series for the Suns.
