When I save an image as .bmp the colors get messed up

Postby mchakko on Fri Feb 21, 2003 7:32 am

When I click on a picture inside a fsh file and then save it, half the time the colors come out all weird, like red becomes green, brown becomes purple...anyone know what's up with this? I have to use fshtool to extract pictures now. It isn't a huge problem since I can get around it, but it's a pain.

Hmmm....I am not sure why this happens 1/2 the time.

Tell me what file you are opening and what subgraphic you are trying to export (save). Walk me through it step by step. I will open the same combination of files on my computer and see if I get the same results.

If I can reproduce the problem on my computer, I can fix the error.

Actually it happens all the time pretty much...I think this happens for me with everything except the numbers.

Ok, here's what I just did...

double clicked on \render\xteam.viv

clicked on hohom.fsh

clicked on buni, it opens up and looks normal

hit file...save as...xteam.bmp

hit ok, saved in /my documents.

I go to my documents...the picture is there but the uniform is now blue and green.

I've got also this problem... I use and make patchs for Live 2000 in 16 bits format... Once saved in bmp format I open the file with Irfan View and I got the same problem that mchakko has... Opening with PSP or Paint the program says the bitmap is corrupted...

To avoid that I save the file in png format without compression and it works good then

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one to have this problem :D

I have the problem but what I do?
Copy the picture in the Eagraph editor and paste the picture in your paint editor

Ok, it appears that a 8bit palette is included in the file!

The actual 24bit data in the file is correct, just 1024 bytes of palette.

Will fix it.

Thanks to all of you for the report.
