few questions

Postby francesco32 on Wed Jun 01, 2011 8:20 am

hi everybody (sorry for my english)

1) i was wondering which is the best way to create a player as realistic as possible. If for example i want to create julius erving (that isn't in the game) where can i take his tendencies? Should I put values in my opinion or is there a more scientific way?

2) Is it possible to use nba live cyberfaces for 2k11? Cause i created a lot of CF for live 08 and i'd like to use it for 2k11.

Thanks in advance

1) for Julius Erving's face the png file is actually in the game files, just unused by the game. The 70s version with a fro is png0870.iff and the 80s version is png0766.iff. If you want to use those I would recommend installing this fix first. viewtopic.php?p=1273554#p1273554
For ratings, check out the G.R.E.A.T. or All Time Franchice Face Off mods in the Total Conversions forum and get the ratings from those rosters.

2) Yes it is possible to transfer over the Live Cfs if you wanted to work on converting them to the 2k template, if you look at the textures in the png files using the mod tool, you will understand what I mean.
Opinions are my own.

in fact i've seen 5 textures while in live 08 there was only one texture. Should i insert that texture and overwrite all 5 textures inside the tool?

Sorry One more question. In Live there were also files for haircuts. How 2k works in that?

* I've used jor1980 cyberface converter.

some of the textures are for low quality player models, so you dont need to edit those

and hair is included in the CF and headshape i believe

to be honest, i dont do a lot (ok, any) CF editing, so other than basic knowledge i can't help you too much

I can answer the hair question

It depends on the type of hair the player has, most players have a fade or a low length cut that can be found in the DDS texture file for the cyberface. For some other players such as Joakin Noah or Kyle Korver, there hair is included in the .iff file and can be modified via your 3D sculpting weapon of choice (Blender, 3DS Max, etc...) It is in the .n2km file of your exported Headshape and is usually labeled as 0-10 in the scene list in your 3D program.

thanks ipro

so if i want to make a brand new cyberface i should take an existing cf with similar hair to the one i'm going to create. Or i'm wrong?

and if you know...when i go creting new cf which textures are important to substitute. In the iff file there are 5 textures, 2 white, 1 green and 2 normal. do i have to create all 5 textures and replace the old?

last question, what about the headshape id? Which do i have to choose? same thing of textures (choosing the hs id of a similar player) or?

thanks
