Im planning to make a mod that will combine 3 major Basketball Leage in the Philippines in one tournament, namely the PBA, PBL, and the upcoming LP (Liga Pilipinas). I know there has been a release of PBALive, but i can't enjoy it very much because of the SEASON and Dynasty mode incompatibility. In order to make the season and dynasty work i would attempt to make/mod 10 teams from PBA + 8 teams from PBL + 12 teams from LP = 30 teams that would replace all NBA teams. This would also make the Dunking Competition and 3 Points Shootout playable.

PBA Teams - alaska aces, ginebra kings, coka cola tigers, stalucia realtors, welcoat dragons, magnolia beverage, redbull barako, purefoods giants, air21 express, and talkntext phonepals.
PBL Teams - hapee toothpaste, harbour centre, pharex medics, toyota otis, burger king, noosa shoes, san mig coffee, and bacchus energy.
LP (Liga Pilipinas) Teams - pampanga buddies, cebu ninos, ilocos sniper, baguio victory, taguig global city, laguna stallions, iloilo warriors, misamis oriental meteor, zamboanga amores, pagadian explorers, batangas barakos, and cavite heroes.

Even though I am a beginner in Photoshop, i really enjoy making CF's and Portraits. Quality may not be the priority (bec i can't photoshop properly), i just wan't to make a WORKING Philippine Basketball Teams that i can play in SEASON and DYNASTY mode and enjoy it.

I have modded before but im still new to NBALIVE patching so i need suggestions and advice from the community.

INSTALLATION GUIDE REVISED:
1) Ok, the files you have should be Hamzie UPB (145,417KB) and the sgsm (668kb). If you downloaded the UPB with Missing Files included, then the only file you have should be the Hamzie UPB BETA (146,042KB).
Hamzie_UPB+Missing Logo Files = Hamzie UPB BETA. You can choose to download the first two files OR the Last file.
Note: the BETA Release at pinoybasket.org have both BETA and Missing Files.
2)Make sure you have a fresh install NBALIVE08. Now this is very important. Run the game for the 1st time without the BETA installed, so you'll have a save NBALIVE 08 game directory at your documents folder. (Thanks to sEpuLtuRa for pointing this out).
3)Backup you NBALIVE files (copy it to another safe location, but dont remove or cut it).
4) Inside Hamzie UPB, there are 7 files (including Thumb.db). You only need the nba directory and roster files.
5)Open nba directory, and copy all 7 folders (ai, audio, anim, layouts, movies, sgsm, and tuning) and paste it to your nbalive default installation C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 08. (Listen, windows will ask you if you want to overwrite the nbalive files, click yes to all. This is good sign w/c means you are in the right directory.)
6) Now open the Roster file and copy New UPB to your save file default location is C:\Documents and Settings\Your Username\My Documents\NBA LIVE 08\saves. Then copy SETTINGS to C:\Documents and Settings\ALADIN\Your Username\NBA LIVE 08.
7)Open the Missing Logo File. The files is named sgsm with 38 fsh files inside. Now open it and copy those 38 files to your NBALIVE default installation/sgsm. The location is C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 08\sgsm.
NOTE: if you downloaded the Hamzie UPB BETA (missing files included), then skip step 7.

Thanks for the kind words Peter. BTW i just made my 1st CF for the mod but I'm having difficulty blending the new face with the background image. Due to the limited available pciture in the net, it was hard to make this CF, but im quite satisfied with the result.

Definitely, I would love to use that on my project. Your CF is far better than what i made. Just got some problem downloadin it on fileplanet(could you upload it on another site). Thanks for lettin me use your CF, ofcourse proper credits will be stated in the release.

I guess, the project is progressing well esp with the addition of Helterbrand CF (by hammertime23). I'll finish both reavis and salvacion today as well as finilizing the gins jersey.

Contribution is greatly appreciatred as to make the mod a reality. Honesty, if i alone would make this mod, it will probably take a year. Your CF is very good, probably a little toning on some CFs and it will be better. Kris could you upload your released CFs on Rapidshare or other site that can easily be downloaded. I wanna give it a run so my gins can have an opponent. I might start with the phonepal jerseys because u already have some of the CFs for them. If you would allow i would like to use them for the mod, ofcouse credits will be stated as your work for those CFs.

I can't commit but I can try. Give me a copy of your roster.

I believe LP will start sometime at end of May, so those info will only be available next month (i may be wrong though).

I can help you with PBA because there's an existing stats for 2007. But in PBL, I can't find any. No idea about LP.

I think the PBA Live 08 beta can give you an idea on how to work things. But be sure to get their approval first.

Yes I am using PBALive2008 BETA as a reference (how things work) as well as roster stats to test new CFs ingame. Right now im using the default roster for the NBALIVE and replaced the Lakers with the Ginebra Team. I would like to have a little higher stat for the mod so players will be competitive with the CPU created players in Dynasty mode. I also noticed that most players in Ginebra PBALIVE has high CLUTCH rating while FATIGUE is a bit low, so basically theres a need to make new STATS for the mod. I don't think that theres a need (yet) to get their approval because I am making my own materials or materials from others with approval, but if they allow that it would be great but thats a long shot. You (Maek) have more experience in DBF editing as well as balancing stats, so i think your help would make the mod more realistic, competitive, and more fun to play with.

The PBL site have some useful player stats ave so stats will be base on that. The LP (Liga Pilipinas), similar to MBL (Metropolitan Basketball League), have not started yet, so it will be done later.

The Divisions would be similar to NBA. PBA, PBL, and LP should be equally distribute into these 6 division (or watever its called). Example PBA, total of 10 teams, will be distributed 2-2-1 for the Northern Conference and 2-2-1 for the Southern Conference. I will formulate the team distribution once i have time...busy with CFs right now.

Heres an update. Just finished Sunday Salvacion and Rafi Reavis. I tried like 5 CFs for Salvacion but i just can't get it to look like him ingame.

You're good with CF's Sunday is so alike with the photo. Don't worry I'm just fixing my CPU right now to match my new internet. And after that I can focus with this patch. Just finish all the team info and give it to me when everythings in place for dbf editing.

FYI, I can't edit the PBA Live 08 beta because of the missing details/infos.
Hope the guys from panelo will release a newer beta.
Then I could simply based this patch and the PBA Live 08 with the same ratings/figures.

Thanks for visiting guys. I just finished 2 CFs today Ronald Tubid and Billy Mamaril. I'm not too happy with the result of Tubids CF but its ok ingame. The Mamaril CF is better and i have been experimenting with some Head EBO. This might be the last picture for Ginebra as the thread is already full of pics...not good for some slow internet. I'll just update the !st post in the future for the group pics of all Gins players and their uniforms.

The Ginebra Team is almost finished with CFS, Portraits, Away Uniforms (Home Uniform not yet done), and they are working pretty well ingame. That means 1 down 29 more teams to go. waaaaaa. I hope this won't take a year

I just updated my 1st post with the finished away and home jersey for the Ginebra as well the complete player images ingame. Forgot to put Rafi Reavis on my images.

Im having a hard time making vectors/logo (PBA logos) for the game. If you have some vectors you made (PBA logos), i would reallly appreciate it if i can use it for the mod. I have visited the PBA Live site and they have a lot of great vectors and i really like the works of jenner25. I think i should ask him or other vector maker from that site if i can use their work.

GOOD NEWS
With the addition of pro vectors (or logo) by Jenner as well as the TNT CFs of Kris, it will speedup the making of this mod.

BAD NEWS
My PC is old and 2 of the 128mb SDRAM (yes im still using SDRAMs) is now defective, so im just left with just 256mb memory. Now my pc is slower than ever. lol

Nice jersey Gen and thanks for visiting this thread. Try to make another version of the jersey by removing the front number as well as adjust the accel logo at the back and make it a bit higher. To Jenner - Yes i need help. Major concern now is completing the CFs as there are a lot of teams involve. Plan is to atleast complete the PBA and PBL teams for the BETA version, then LP materials will be in the full version. The project also needs vectors for the PBL so i you have free time for that also, it would be great.
