Rondo will destroy the 1 guards in LA, Farmar's out and they haven't got Lue or anyone else yet. I doubt Fisher can do it all alone, and Kobe (or anyone else guarding the 2) can't come off for a moment, 'cause Boston's got some excellent shooters that will drop it when left wide open.
C's for the win !

half way through 2nd, Kobe's on fire with 16 early points
LA Leads by 8
Fri Dec 26, 2008 9:26 am
half time...Lakers lead by 6, Walton, Vujacic had a nice first half with 8 each, Gasol added in 6, Odom had 2 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists
Kobe still has 16 points
GO LAKERS!!!

Boston's didn't get much out of their bench in the first half, making Vujacic's eight points thus far a huge boost for the Lakers.

end of 3rd, Odom's Back to Back 3s gave Lakers a 4 point lead!!

LAKERS WIN 92-83!!!!!!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!

Tight game! Really a X'mas treat for the BOS-LAL fans!

Very nice win for the Lakers, easily their most significant victory of the regular season thus far. Their bench ended up outscoring the Celtics 22-13, the same difference as the overall final score.

Ariza's jam was SICK

as for the bench production, i totally agree, Ariza, Odom, Vujacic had a great game, especially Vujacic early and how about Lamar's back to back 3s in the second half? great play from the Lakers

I read that over a 13 game stretch Odom only scored in double figures twice... I don't wanna sound like a stooge but I expect him to dominate against other NBA reserves.
As for today's game, I didn't see any of it yet but happy to see we won.

The fact that LA won means that people can't overlook them... the Lakers had mroe at stake than Boston in this one. If LA had lost, I think a lot of people would have made a big deal about it.

Bill Walton blew it way out of proportion during the Bulls/Heat game today, suggesting it was a sign the Celtics were in trouble and that they were only "one loss in front of the Cavs" and other such things. Not to take anything away from the Lakers because it was a big win but I bet a lot of teams wish they just had their nineteen game winning streak broken.

anyone see vujacic cross over eddie house? can someone post a vid, or a link?

Not to mention that it was a very close game up until Pau stepped up and was the difference.

Hornets snapped our winning streak but the worse news is that Odom is injured.

Oh man... hyperextended knee...
And not to mention that Farmar is out atm with Fisher playing big minutes. Lakers are reportedly looking for a replacement PG right now though.

They just won against the GSW today.

Better be injured now than post-season. That's always a concern with LA, you know Kobe will be Kobe, but it's guys like Gasol, Bynum and perhaps even Fisher you worry about injury-wise. Specially with Fish playing big minutes.
All you can do is wait & watch and hope for the best I guess. Best of luck to Odom recovering properly and in a timely fashion.

Is it just me or is Kobe missing quite some shots at the end of games that he would've made a couple years ago?

Big time because Farmar is injured, you don't want Fish to wear himself down.

Perhaps as explained by Jax: 'Kobe is a streak shooter who needs to get into his groove and now that he is not getting the shots he usually takes early in games, he takes longer to get going.' That's what he said a month or two ago so maybe can gain some insight into that...
