rewind/365 feature future implications possibility

Postby kingjames23 on Mon Sep 08, 2008 7:16 am

ok, imagine in future NBA LIVE games, that you play a dynasty and the rewind/365 feature is actually implemented DURING your dynasty. every game that your team doesn't participate in... the scores and stats are auto updated to reflect what happened in the actual NBA season, so that you may only influence your team and the team you are playing against at the time.

say you play with the pistons, and you beat the lakers twice... but in the real nba season the lakers won both games... that would be the only change to their overall record. the two games you won over them would be the only change to their record...

trades would happen automatically during your dynasty, on the day they happened. so long as when you are playing your dynasty you are one day behind the real NBA schedule, all the scores and stats would sim to replicate the real NBA. and if your team lost last night 120 to 85... you are going to be hard pressed to win that game... because the shooting percentages and soforth from last nights game will be used in your game when you play it.

i think this would be a sick feature. the only drawback would be possibly the seeding for the playoffs. but this would bring things as close to real life as possible, while still giving you control over your own team's destiny.

after your first season is completed... then a standard dynasty mode begins.. giving you freedom to make roster moves and play the rest of your franchise how you want.

of course this feature should be optional, from the main menu before you start your season.

if you try to play a game before it has happened, you could be prompted that this day hasnt happened yet... are you sure you want to continue?

how is that for a slice of fried gold?

It's an interesting idea but if you selected that option you'd need to bar the user from making any trades or the CPU teams making trades amongst themselves otherwise it's going to get awfully messy. It would also mean that you couldn't train your players since the DNA and roster updates would cancel it out. I think it might be a little too restricting for most people, perhaps it could be offered as a single season alternative.

or maybe it would just work for the first year of a dynasty? after that it could revert back to total user control of trades and training and such.

That still seems needlessly complicated. If they were going to do something like that, I think it would have to be a seperate option to the regular Dynasty Mode.

It does sound restricting that way.

What about rewind for games you play? Maybe you and a buddy have a terrific game, or maybe a simulated game is great and you'd love to replay it.

i actually get pissed when a huge trade happens in the real NBA and i cant do it in my dynasty.... like last year when i was playing my Lakers chise and i couldnt do the trade for Gasol... because, well... the CPU isnt that stupid. so i restarted my chise after the trade deadline roster update. this is a good reason to make this feature an option to use during dynasty mode.

we should at least have the option to override cpu trades and force trades. give us the choice?

In my opinion Shooting Streaks should be avalible in Dynasty. It would make Dynasty more realistic and It wouldn't affect rosters. Imagine that ,for example Marcin Gortat ( :D ), in real NBA plays great at the moment and he is much better in your dynasty too. I think that would be an awesome feature.

I think bringing that back would be a good idea. These days I tend to create my own reality when it comes to Dynasty games but it would be nice to have that option for those who desire it.
