played 12mins/qrt(48 mins whole game)

Pdub statements
1.the cpu isn't shooting layups when near the rim, but jumpshots
#I rarely encounter it, just once honestlyyyy

2.The cpu ran a few set plays, but no so many that they got repetitive or predictable
#yes few setup plays but "ball movements is very good" (Y)

3.I think there are too many passes on fast breaks which lead to players stopping near the rim and passing to a teammate who is just standing there.
#I never encounter it honestlyyyy.

things to look at:
- for 48 mins of game, cpu did not call a time out
- very low blocking ability for both(cpu/user) which result to
- easy dunk whe the ball is passed to the player inside the paint wether its a SG,SF,PF and C

The cpu only called one timeout in the game I played, about one minute into the second quarter after I went on a run.

Interesting about the blocking because I had the complete opposite experience. I got 3 blocks on one possession, and several more. That could be contributed to Marcus Camby, although Brian Skinner actually had 3 blocks in the game for me. Remember I am playing with default sliders, onluy fatigue and user subs were changed to 50, and game speed to 55.

Easy dunks in the paint? Welcome to NBA Live. I can't force collisions to stop a dunk, or atleast I don't know how to.

Overall I like how we have had somewhat opposite experiences, and that you are not experiencing the issues I did. Thanks for the feedback.

Opposite experience probably because of the gameplay settings

what do you think?

BTW my game settings are:
(12mins/qrt)
gamespeed - 36
user onball defense assist - 50
user/cpu physical defense - 99
user/cpu double team effectiveness - 99
cpu prohop effectiveness - 50
cpu drop step effectiveness - 50
everything besides these are default.......

another question man, why is it when I try to open 06 EBO on BOKAYO ebo editor version .2, the program stop responding?

Sat Sep 06, 2008 2:44 am

You can't edit 06 headshapes in Bokayo's ebo editor. I thought it was possible, but tested several different headshapes from 06 and none of them get opened.

I hate slow gamespeed. The reason I am going with the default sliders (but fatigue at 50, user subs at 50, and game speed at 55) is because I don't want the sliders to be a big factor that affects how I perceive the results of my AI changes. I'm not worried about stats, since most of them can be reproduced realistically using the sliders. I want to make the cpu appear as if it is playing smart, balanced, and isn't so predictable.

keep it up pdub u are doin great job (Y) will post comments lata.

Tue Sep 09, 2008 11:06 am

Nice gameplay, just need to work on the fastbreak (too many passes) and add more mid-range shots (too much layups and post-ups) Also could u make teams really utilize their best players? like every team has one or two guys taking the majority of the shots. Otherwise keep it uP!

Tue Sep 09, 2008 5:38 pm

played bunch of 48 mins games

never encounter major problem or bugs (Y)
for me, there is a good balance between close shot , mid range shot , and long shot (Y)
rarely encounter fastbreak problem/domination or to many passes (Y)
balance scoring is verygood (Y)
ball movements is very good (Y)
pic n roll plays is perfect (Y)

FROM PDUB
"The cpu ran a few set plays, but no so many that they got repetitive or predictable"
#this is something really that I notice though

also the timeouts, cpu is not using it wisely ;) weird

there is also room for improvement on defence

Tue Sep 09, 2008 6:42 pm

everything is perfect pdub juz the defense u need to work on (Y) (Y) (Y)

Thu Sep 11, 2008 12:11 am

everything is already good pdub i can see some midrange shots and some long shots and some other good plays now what you need is to edit the team plays their main offensive teamplays and their main defensive team plays

Thu Sep 11, 2008 2:43 am

I don't care about that. That is up to the roster maker. I am not trying to make an all-in-one gameplay fix. Just editing the aiact. :D

Thu Sep 11, 2008 3:03 pm

I have a question Pdub. Is it possible to put live 04 and 05 dunks/moves (or replace some awkward/unrealistic dunks/moves) on that aiact you're working on? Just like that one Seushiro got on 05? (his Integra AIACTs, in my book, is the greatest patch that Live 05 ever had)

Thu Sep 11, 2008 5:43 pm

Hello PDUB , have you ever try your assignment aiact on live 08?

I did try it my self and you know what, its freaking awesome

no pg domination, cpu subbed guards  , players dont sprint through their bench when you call a timeout, 10 times better ball movement

what the hell is going on  is this an accident?? coincident?? miracle?

btw I dont have any other installed patch to live 08 besides from your 06 assignment imported on JAOSMING Street08 AIACT. I used the default roster of EA. the only thing I changed is gameplay setting and played 48 min of game..

Thu Sep 11, 2008 5:49 pm

are u foreal? wait til kris and nigu hears about this i will do it too xD

Thu Sep 11, 2008 8:55 pm

yeah man  its for realll

but i just played 1game(48 min) though

update>>>>>

playing right now, it seems that I just got lucky on that 1game

I just tried it. It's ok. It cuts down on the constant backing down among other things.

I think that the more AI situations EA adds to the game, they end up just conflicting with each other and cause problems. I found it amazing that the fastbreaks were run pretty well, similar to 06, even though EA/HB added "new" fastbreak situations and forced the cpu AI to run a fastbreak offense after any missed shot. They also overwrote some of EA's situations with their own, and replacing them with their originals seemed to work alot better(using the 07 or 06 assignment file) /rant

Advice for Kris or Nigu: start with the original 06 assignment file. Replace these situations with the ones from the 07 assignment file - dunk_layup:open at basket, dunk_layup:open at basket(guard). The reason is because players will stop short of the basket and shoot close range jumpshots instead of taking those layups. They will still perform layups if you don't do this, but they will wait till they are very close to the basket.

PhatGeezer, we have tried using 05, 04, and March Madness animations and 06 doesn't seem to like them. I believe it can be done. Hopefully someone else will try it.

Fri Sep 12, 2008 8:33 am

Ic...but isn't it Jaosming got his Street MOD back then with that (sort of) AIACT (Did he ever release the mod on 06?)? Anyway, it seems that everything is going great, the last AIACT you posted is awesome (except that I notice the CPU use seldom or sometimes doesn't use timeouts)

Fri Sep 12, 2008 10:42 am

my aiacts for 06 didnt use new animations

Fri Sep 12, 2008 4:20 pm

Ic, gutted....

Tue Sep 16, 2008 1:32 am

just a dumb question...is it ok to combine act files from different aiacts?

and is it possible to import act files from other versions of live to 06 aiact?

Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:57 am

its possible to convert their values, like having the assignment.act of 06 and 08 open at the same time and convert over values from one to the other but a straight replacement isnt smart. Also, doing that with the dunk/block/shot/panim basically anything that has to do with animations that is a bad idea.

how about the loco aiact and ranalog aiact, is this possible bec I want to transfer live 04 dribbling animation to live 06

Tue Sep 23, 2008 8:13 pm

06 is a pain and doesnt like getting animations from different lives, so even editing the loco aiact (or in case of your dribbling moves, the ranalog.act) that wouldnt work. Mainly for 06 we have to work with the animations EA gave us.

Sat Oct 04, 2008 5:25 am

Will this be the final version of the AIACT?

Sat Oct 04, 2008 5:59 am

...

Probably not. I should tidy it up a little bit.

Sat Oct 04, 2008 8:46 am

aii Cool Pdub, hopefully all the patches are done by the start of the season so ppl can start a season in their Live 06 without having to add new patches (rosters, jerseys, AIACT, stadiums, faces...)
