2008 Draftees Ratings

Postby Andrew on Tue Aug 05, 2008 11:17 pm

Just to update everyone, I am still working on the roster updates for NBA Live 08, 07 and 06. I still cannot set dates for their release but I am working hard to get them out as soon as possible. The post Draft update is one of the most tedious and time consuming but I'm certainly making progress and will do my best not to keep everyone waiting too much longer.

In the meantime, I've finished creating this year's sixty draftees and have completed a first pass through their ratings. I've decided to post a spreadsheet with their ratings so that I can get your feedback and any corrections for players who should be left handed (I've already noticed a couple) before the rosters actually come out. If any other roster patchers would like to use any of these ratings as a base, please feel free to do so.

Rookie Ratings

Please note that I'm looking for honest, constructive and intelligent feedback here on all ratings, not just the overalls. I can also do without the childish "lol omg these ratings suck" nonsense; if you see something that doesn't look right, by all means point it out and suggest new ratings but please do it without the attitude. Thanks.

Great news on the updates, Andrew!

Rookie ratings are looking pretty good, a couple of thoughts..

I'd check Donte Greene's FG & 3pt numbers, I think he's a better outside shooter then 56/58. I'd also increase his shooting range to 25 feet.

Chris Douglas-Rbts' name maybe better as Chris Doug-Roberts... just a thought. Maybe that should be a poll question. ;)

Cheers, Tibs (Y)

Thanks for the feedback. Chris Douglas-Roberts is definitely a tough one, there's no perfect solution there unfortunately.

Kevin Love's 3pt shooting should be more higher because as i've seen in his highlights, he can shoot from downtown. i think the rating is 60-70. but im not really sure if thats the real estimation. i hope you would consider.

* Derrick Rose's 3 point shooting isnt as good as Michael Beasley's so I think Rose's 3s will have to be lowered to 55ish.

* Kevin Love's passing needs a bit of a raise. He's the best passing bigman out of the whole draft. But not increased to the levels of the other PGs of course but a late 50 to earlier 60s should suffice

* Derrick Rose's dunking can increase a bit (youtube his back to back dunk in HS, very sick)

thats all for now, dont have time right now to look through it all

Thanks for the feedback. I set Rose's dunking rating a bit lower since smaller players who dunk more frequently in high school and college tend not to throw it down as often in the NBA but I'll certainly take another look at his rating (and the dunking rating for similar players in this year's class) and consider changing my approach.

Microsoft Excel, though I'm guessing any other spreadsheet software (such as the one that comes with OpenOffice) will do the trick.
