The team playbook is useless IMO. Because running, penetrating and dunking has always been the best way to score when playing live on PC. . Its nice to run plays but its far from being the best way to score or to win games... I dont remember how was 06 though... But i think it was the same as 07/08 in that regard, wasnt it ??

It depends how you want to play, but it's more about trying to get the PC to play realistically.

Could you make the CPU play the way the team plays in real-life? I don't know if all those "team strategies" in NBA LIVE is just words or does the CPU really respond and play the way you program it to play...

I think that if you guys really want the cpu to play realistically and run plays then NBA LIVE 06 is the solution.There is also no pg domination or many other gameplay issues that are present in 07 and 08 and kris I remember I posted those a couple months back and I really appreciate you using them in your gamefix.can u please test the sliders I use. and maybe use them on your gamefix.

here's playmakers from nba live 06 but they work as well on nba live 07 and nba live 08

Level: Superstar/All-Star/Broadcast/Shot Control Optional

Assign High Pressure Defense to all PF's and C's for both CPU and Human players. You have to take control of the CPU at the start of games to set their Pressure defense then switch over to your team before the tip off.

Game Speed's
40=12 MINUTES
45=10 MINUTES
50=8 MINUTES

All Penalties sliders are setup based on NBA League average. So, if you don't agree with the league average lower them at your own personal options.

Game Speed: 40-45-50
Free Throw Difficulty: 100
Boundary Force Field: 75
Injury Frequency: 50
Fatigue Effect: 50
Charge/Block Foul Frequency: 75
Shooting Foul Frequency: 25
Reach-in Foul Frequency: 50...(Helps to spread out fouls amongst players)
In-air Collision Foul Frequency: 75.....(This is very realistic if U control 1 defender)

USER:

User Steal Ability: 25

Hi Altwarya9,

I've tried your suggestion of putting high pressure defence on all Cs, and the gameplay seems to be much better, coupled with Andrew's sliders....

Thanks!! (Y)

Sorry if I'm an idiot, but is there some quick way to copy someone else's sliders? Or do you guys print them and enter them in the game like I do?

Sometimes I wish people wouldn't assume that we've all been in these forums for years and all know how to do all this stuff.

TIA

EDITED: to remove the word edit.

Hi Stealth

I believe there is a tutorial whereby u can read on how to do editing. Or you can go to NBA Wiki to it check out.

As for the sliders, you have to adjust to the numbers in the game. However, I'm not sure if you can use DB Commander to change the settings... I think other members will be in a better position to advice on this.

Thx Bodz. After downloading all the patches and reading the Readme's, I learned that you can use someone else's settings.dat file.

The only disadvantage is that some of their other settings might not be suitable, though it's probably quicker to change them back than print out and modify the individual gameplay sliders.

hi, i'm just wondering what do i do with the playbook that Kris has written down, are we suppose to change team strategies (offensive/defensive) right after tip-off manually? or will there be a patch so that every team will have their own set of strategies without editing it once the game has started each time? Thanks

TC#10, for that to happen without having to do it manually, you may want to try doing it via DB Commander...

You may want to check out this link from Live 06 section. Somebody did try to attempt to edit the playbooks and released it as a patch.

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=29604

Personally, I prefer the element of surprise rather than dictate how the AI plays the opponents.
