I've never seen a popular program as sneaky and unflexible as this one. This piece of shit is forcing me to re-import yet again all the songs I had on my Nano. I have it on my laptop which is always connected online, and I figured I'd use one of these free softwares like Yamipod, Sharepod and others (which are MUCH easier to use) on my desktop, which has a much faster DVD drive when I want to add songs in it. Only the latest versions of iTunes seem to detect this right away and pretty much lock your device as a consequence. Even after backing up the entire "music" folder that's located in "iPod controls", restoring the iPod and putting all the songs and artwork back, it doesn't detect any of the tracks anymore. You can't even add manually the mp3s you have on your PC to the iTunes Library (the one in "my Documents"), because it knows that the songs have not been ripped through iTunes, and the program won't detect any of these mp3s.
I'm sure there's ways around this, but either way, considering that it also installs a bunch of useless side-programs that are most likely spywares, and it takes up a ridiculous amount of memory when running, it has to be the most impractical piece of crap I've ever used.
End rant
