Dribbling Player Animation

Postby neo_177 on Tue Nov 12, 2002 1:06 am

Hi everyone,

why does the dribbling animations in live 2003 look so unnatural ???? :( I mean, in Live 2000 the animations are ok, but in Live 2003 three years later ??? I just want players who behave and look like a real Basketball-player in Real Life.

I saw Jason Kidd dribbling in the Demo and thougt: WTF is this ??? It looked kind of weird !! Does no one at EA Sports recognized this or is it just in the Demo ???

I could be wrong but i believe they wanted to focus more on a blend of simulation and arcade fun.Probably to appeal to first time players of live as well as long time simulation wanting fans.

Um appeal to simulation fans??? this is a strictly arcade game. NBA Super Jamz should be the new name.

This game might be arcade but nevertheless i want dribbling animations which look like players dribbling in real life.
In arcade games players jump way too high beyond physical ability, they run faster than in real life and so on. That's ok, but the animations should be real-looking.

Yohance Bailey is right. NBA Live suffers from the same problem like FIFA Soccer now : they has to be arcade and attractive to appeal as many as newcomers as possible.

What you want may not be what sells.
