Bump! We need Clutch to return! This was my favorite dynasty by far.... He only came back for a short while after a 2 month hiatus so maybe now he'll come back...

Mon May 05, 2008 2:03 pm

Meh; this dynasty was pretty good. We do need some activity here though; and closure on this dynasty. What ever happened to him?

Wed May 07, 2008 7:42 am

Chaser - been crazy busy but just for you and my gal JMS (who's been harping on me too) this dynasty will resume shortly ;)

Wed May 07, 2008 8:14 am

YES! CLUTCH IS BACK! :D
Where have you been bro? It's been a while..

Thu May 08, 2008 5:18 am

HARPING!?! Noooo.
Merely suggesting :P

Nice to see Clutch is back. This is one of my favorite dynasties out here because the Rockets are my favorite team and the presentation is top notch.

Yao Terrific, Rockets Stop Skid

HOUSTON March 24, 2008 (AP) -- The Rockets relied on an all around team effort to defeat the visiting Denver Nuggets 101-91 at the Toyota Center on Monday night. Marvin Williams and Tracy McGrady scored 18 a piece to lead the Rockets while Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson led Denver with 27 and 16 respectively. Williams also led Houston with 12 rebounds, 8 of which came off the offensive glass.

Yao Ming
, who received an unintentional broken nose from a stray elbow by Elton Brand in last night's game vs the Clippers, did in fact start at Center for the Rockets after it had been announced earlier in the day that he would come off the bench. "Yao insisted he give it a go and we'd see how he felt once the game began," explained head coach, Phil Jackson. "Then when Tracy got in foul trouble early, we knew we'd have to play Yao more minutes than we would've liked."

Yao wore a clear, protective face mask and although he was played relatively sparingly, he still managed a terrific line finishing with 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks on the night.

Denver led Houston 40-37 at halftime but the Rockets came out in a fury stunning the Nuggets with a 32-17 third quarter. "Comin' out of the break we knew we had to jump on 'em quick and turn it around," said McGrady. "Everyone was on the same page and did a great job locking them up. Offensively we moved the ball well and found the open man."

Yao Ming and the Rockets next head to Milwaukee to take on the Bucks' 7-footer frontcourt triumvirate of Tyson Chandler, Andrew Bogut and Charlie Villanueva.

SIIICKK

I'm s glad this dynasty is back man, and nice win! damn Carmelo scores 27, but no one else really goes off for one of the highest scoring teams.. Can't wait until the playoffs!

Thu May 15, 2008 6:32 am

JTF - you bet ;) nice to see some familiar faces too
Chase - thx man and i guess 'Melo was the hot hand so they kept going to him; was definitely expecting more from them but they got out played by the Rockets bench suprisingly; i'm tempted to sim the last month to get to the playoffs too...

Thu May 15, 2008 11:26 am

Bucks' Triple Threat Holds On

MILWAUKEE March 25, 2008 (AP) -- Milwaukee's trio of 7-foot starters - Chandler, Bogut and Villanueva - wore down the visiting Rockets with a decisive 3rd quarter push and held off Houston's late game rally for an 82-80 home win.

Led in scoring by 2nd-year pro, Julius Hodge, who tallied 16 points and 2 assists on the night, the Bucks moved the ball well and controlled the glass down the stretch when it mattered. With 12.5 seconds left in the game and the score tied 80-80, Charlie Villanueva managed to corral an offensive rebound, was quickly fouled then sent to the free throw line, where he calmly buried both free throws.

Trailing by two, the Rockets elected not to call time out and instead moved the ball quickly up court and into the hands of Center, Yao Ming. Ming was quickly doubled by Andrew Bogut and Tyson Chandler but somehow found Marvin Williams who got off a last second jumper from 18-feet which was contested by Villanueva; the shot hit the back of the iron and rattled out as the final horn sounded.

Villaneuva snatched up the ball and hugged it as if they had won the NBA Finals.

"I was excited man," said Villaneuva after the game. "we're a lottery bound team this year so for us to go up against competition like Houston and win... that's big." Villanueva finished with 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists while Bogut, captured "Player of the Game" honors with 11 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks. Tracy McGrady led Houston with 25 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in the losing effort.

With four days of rest the Rockets will try to regroup at home as they take on Tim Duncan and the league's 2nd-best, San Antonio Spurs.

Ouch! Tough loss.. The Bucks have a really tall frontline but they really dont have a go-to-guy, whatever happened to Michael Redd?

Mon May 19, 2008 5:50 am

JMS - well Yao does have a broken nose afterall! hey... check my new signature - are you ready? ;)

Dragon - thx man! btw i only found '02 and '94 jerseys for HOU in that link you sent me; do you have current ones? they're tight otherwise (Y)

Homi - yeah, that's a good assessment of the Bucks. As for Redd? That goes back to the 1st pg about mid way down, "8/27/07 The Bucks trade M. Redd to the Hornets for T. Chandler." So Redd is playing opposite of… you guessed it, Chris Paul. Maybe why the Hornets are leading the league at 45-19!

Mon May 19, 2008 6:42 am

What were the Bucks thinking trading away Redd?!

Anyways tough loss, hope you ge back on track with a win next game (Y)

You wouldn't trade an aging, injury-prone one-time all-star that has yielded no success for one of the best young big men in the league?

Mon May 19, 2008 7:13 am

Dragon- he used to take more in game pics, but to save time he has cut down, he said he might be able to do more in the playoffs...

Speaking of which, Clutch, some of the pcitures from the first page are broken, if you could fix them that would be great!

Anyways tough loss, and you have the team you always lose to coming up next? Can you rebound for the win?

Ginobili Ignites Comeback

HOUSTON March 28, 2008 (AP) -- A spectacular all-around performance by Manu Ginobili and timely offensive rebound put-back by Bruce Bowen in the game's closing seconds gave the San Antonio Spurs a 97-95 road victory over the Houston Rockets.

The Spurs got off to a horrendous start, trailing Houston by as many as 19 in the third; but the versatile Ginobili continued to penetrate the Rockets' interior defense, repeatedly knifing his way past defender, Joey Graham, and to the basket "like a squirrel" according to announcer, Steve Kerr. By the start of the fourth, they had chipped the Rockets' lead to 12.

Unable to cease the Spurs' momentum, Houston watched its lead evaporate further to 92-93 with 40.6 seconds remaining. Ginobili then gave San Antonio its first lead of the game 95-93 off a gutsy trey from beyond the arc leaving 35 seconds to go.

After a timeout, Tracy McGrady would respond for the Rockets, delivering a clutch jumper of his own to knot the game at 95-95 a piece with 24.4 left in the match.

With the game clock winding down, the Spurs once again swung the ball to Ginobili who was quickly double-teamed by Graham and McGrady but somehow still managed to avoid both defenders, elevate and get a final shot off.

His shot veered right, however, and clanked off the rim; but an uncontested, Bruce Bowen, leapt into the air for the offensive rebound, snatched the ball mid-flight and jammed it home in one motion a split second before the final buzzer for the victory.

"A mental error on my part," said a vexed McGrady after the match. "I should've stayed home on Bowen but as hot as Manu was, I didn't want him taking that shot."

McGrady led the Rockets with 22 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists while Ginobili poured in 34 points, 5 boards and 5 assists for the Spurs.

The Rockets begin the final month of regulation on the road facing the league's best, New Orleans Hornets. However, the Hornets, who dominated the LA Clippers in a 121-92 blowout, will suddenly be without rising superstar, Chris Paul. During the final quarter, Paul landed awkwardly after a drive to the basket and suffered a broken bone in his foot; he is scheduled to miss the rest of the regular season and possibly the first round of the Playoffs.

Awww, tough loss to the Spurs.

Hopefully Yao recovers soon so he can start being more helpful to your team.
