If you're playing the PS2 version, make sure you have enough free space on your memory card for NBA Live 06's save files.

It means your memory card is full (or very close to it). You need to either clear some data from your memory card or if you don't want to lose anything, buy another one.

It has nothing to do with the number of players you have on your roster (which must be eight at the very least). The problem is you do not have sufficient space on your memory card to save any new data; you need to clear some data off your memory card (ie delete anything you don't want/need anymore) or buy a second memory card so that you can keep saving game data.

It's not a game issue, it's an issue with your memory card.

You already mentioned that you saved rosters for NBA Live 06 but once again, the issue is that your memory card is full, or almost full. This means you've got a lot of data saved on it already, not necessarily from NBA Live 06 but from other games in your collection.

You will need to either get rid of some of the saved data from other games if you no longer want to keep it or get a second memory card that is empty so that you can continue to save game data.
