I think Shaq would still be intimidating to play against, he's not the same player he once was but he's only bad because of his own shortcomings, he's still unguardable, I wouldn't want to have to try to hold him off the block for 35 minutes. I think Kobe has a mystique about him, that might add to it, personally I'd be more intimidated by the guys who were more physically dominant at the position (LeBron, Carmelo etc).

Farmar did great on the Rookie-Sophomore game yesterday racking up 12 asts while making only 1 TO. He was actually better in the game than Conley or Rondo.

Lets see of the lakers can continue winning without kobe...if they can then is he really the mvp? We'll find out won't we...

Hmm, I wonder why nobody's replying on the Kobe vs LBJ thread anymore. Maybe because it is so childish and senseless to insist on comparing individual players incessantly.

Anyway, Kobe is such a crazy mofo that he is delaying surgery to continue playing. Yeah, If was a coach of a team, I'd want crazy mofo's who play through pain. Yeah, if Kobe has to chop his little pinky off to get back to playing sooner, he probably will. Kobe was simply born to play basketball. But, every LAKER FAN will agree that MVP award or not, the CHAMPIONSHIP is the goal here.

Speaking of awards, I strongly believe I should be nominating somebody for the academy award for "BEST KOBE HATER, DISGUISED AS AN LBJ FAN". I just can't make up my mind yet who to nominate.

What does any of that have to do with this topic? I feel sorry for you.

I feel sorry for Laker fanboys in general.

Because nobody wants to talk about Kobe vs LBJ anymore, yet you insist to talk about it. Yet all you have to say are attacks on Kobe. This is a "Lakers" thread. Talk about the Lakers... Go back to the Kobe vs LBj thread you createdm If that is all you have to say.

Because these two clowns are probably a couple of punk kids who thinks access to google has made them wise beyond their years. Only teenagers would the phrase "i feel sorry for ____" mean anything.

Never been called a "punk" before. I feel badass. :mrt:

Seriously guys. If you neither like ,respect nor care about the Lakers, then just don't post here, I don't know what's so hard about that.

P.S.
Lakers,

See you guys in the WCF!

I haven't dissed the Lakers in anyway.
Just because I pissed some fanboys doesn't mean I pissed the Lakers.
Lakerfanboys do not represent the team you know.

What kind of "fanboys" represent the team then, pare?

Nice drubbing of the Hawks today. The Lakers came out strong and pressured the ball early, the Hawks just wasn't able to cope. (Y)

Kobe Bryant: 0.500%fg 5reb 3ast 5st 23pt

not bad, right?

and before you put James' numbers here, the Lakers won and the Cavs didn't. So he could have scored 200 pt and it still would be worthless than KB24 numbers

Thu Feb 21, 2008 5:27 am

i'm pretty sure if LBJ scored 200 pnts the Cavs would win by a substantial amount....

anyways, Phx v LAL tomorrow....another great encounter just got better.....Kobe v Bell & Shaq!!!! :P

He was unable to make crucial shots in those games when lebron guarded gim in the 4th and his last shot was blocked by hughes and those were the times when he was shut down. LeBron doesn't guard kobe the whole game hence why his numbers were still decent.

Kobe was missing his normal shots. Simple as that. I only remember one play where Lebron completely locked down Kobe in the Laker white jerseys on the one play where Kobe wasn't able to penentrate and missed a fadeaway. If Kobe takes his normal shots but those shots just aren't falling, he's getting shut down? Did JR Smith and Linus Kleiza shut down Kobe when he shot 9-30?

Man I ahte people who say LBJ better than Kobe, he cant shoot outside man you'll never see LBJ making clutch shots OUTSIDE the paint. Even LBJ says hes not even close to Kobe. Why dod you think West lost All-Star game? Becasue Kobe only had 3 mins! Kobe is the all around package. No matter how much you argue you CANT deny that

yeah i agree, kobe is god. infact i think they should blind fold him during games just to attempt to bring him to human level

Thu Feb 21, 2008 1:04 pm

Lol...this thread turned into a pig pen. We all know pigs eat their own crap....i sure hopes no one opens the gate.

Thu Feb 21, 2008 1:29 pm

I think some trolling has contributed to the moronic Kobe explosion in the last page or so.

Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:12 pm

these last few nonsense-filled pages serve as a great example of why it can be embarrassing to be an la fan from time to time

None the less, great game today. I can't remember exactly but shit, there would of been a good 80 points between Lamar, Gasol & Kobe. Shaq had a rather nice second half.

Thu Feb 21, 2008 4:07 pm

Nice win for the Lakers, showing composure taking control of the game since the first quarter. Holding off a good team. Too bad the Lakers aren't going to match up with the top teams of the east with the games left. Yet, less than 10 games into the Gasol trade, it should now be evident for Lakers fans that good things are in store. The next games I am watching out for are these:
Mar 14 vs Hornets
Apr 11 vs Hornets
Apr 13 vs Spurs

Chris Paul is doing really well, And if the Hornets can finish strong, I do not see why he can't be voted MVP. Their team is young, and probably a player acquisition away from securing a perennial elite status. They are really a team to watch.

The Spurs on the other hand, has got to have the oldest 2nd unit after acquiring Stoudamire and Thomas, where everyone is in their 30's. And yet they are a team to still watch out for.

But at around that time, Ariza and Bynum should be back. And those games should be precursors to what the playoffs may hold for the Lakers.

that's a retarded argument.....at least try to pretend to be objective and at least provide reasonable arguments.

Great win by Lakers.....Pau Gasol has never seen so many easy shots in his life......anyways, bout 1:30 left in the game that breakaway dunk, Kobe got away with a blatant travel....caught the ball, took to strides then put it down. Can't believe refs didn't call that.
