question for court patchin' experts

Postby Clutch on Wed Sep 19, 2007 5:42 am

i'm tooling around with a custom court and figured out how to alter decals, court lines etc by .dbf editing the '(teamname).viv' file located in '/sgsm/stadia'

what i can't seem to figure out is, how do you change the border coloring outside the court? (the flooring underneath the bench and surrounding the court); for instance, the Rockets is 'red', the Spurs is 'black', Lakers is 'yellow' and Suns is 'wood-grain' - but what file or attribute controls this?

any help appreciate thx!

alright it is controlled by the xxxxcrt.ebo (this also controls lane color as well if it is colored)

to edit it I recommend you download the first ebo editor (search for it) and open the crt.ebo

on the left you will see a "parts list" try to find the "part" that surrounds the court.

Once you do press ctrl + a to select all verticies (the little blue things should turn red)

Then underneath the "parts list" there is a grey box, click on that.

A color palette should come up. Select the color you want to use and press ok. The grey color in the box should change to the color you selected. Then all you have to do is save it.

More on this:
If you want to change the pattern that displays in these colored parts, it is controlled by the texture named "pwdd" I believe, and it is located in the xxxxcrt_vram.fsh.

That should be about it, if you get an error with the ebo editor, search around, there are fixes for that on this forum.
Opinions are my own.

Jao and/or any other court patchers - i can almost do everything i want with the .ebo editor - colors, textures and what not but i'm hitting another snag - is there a way to delete/add parts from one .ebo to another?

For ex, some courts might have the area inside the 3-pt line a different shade (PHO, SEA) than the rest of the court but others do not; there's a piece of geometry that usually defines it - is it possible to 'copy' the flooring or parts and 'paste' it into a different court? or is there a more comprehensive editor/tool than can edit .ebo geometry?

arrrghhh... thx in advance

nope, unfortunately there isnt anyway to delete or add one. If you want to "delete" something just move it far away from the court.

Finally got around to finishing my court Jao; check it out revealed in my dynasty 'Wizard v Rockets' game http://www.nbaliveforums.com/sutra829592.php#829592

it's converted from the PHO Suns arena as a template; couldn't figure out how to stripe the free throw line red (ran outta geometry to substitute); but aside from the cropped stadium corners it's fairly accurate

anyway, fun side project and learning exp it was; thx again man (Y)
