Sorry, man. that blows. OZ is the shizz-nit.

At least it was just an external for you. A couple months ago my house was struck by lighting and fried pretty much everything. the surge protector went too. lost a wii (luckily on warranty), a dreamcast, PSU & mobo. I was borderline sean kingston for a month.

Yuk, no need to get snippy at me. I just expressed minor sympathy and support for your loss.

Never again, you big meanie.

I'm guessing I should bow before I leave? Dont want to screw up that ever important illusion of power and all.

Shit, I don't even know if I should post this.

I almost got stabbed with a knife today :? .

I'm not even sure if I'm pissed or scared at this time.

Can't even believe it could actually happen on a basketball court 5 minutes from home and all for lousy 50 euros. People are crazy damn it . One second I'm playing basketball and the next I see a knife and a guy saying he will stab me if I don't give him the money I dropped. Naturally I refused to give it to him , then he started to swing the knife around at me and was coming towards me. I jumped back and the next thing I knew is that one of my friends brother rushed me to the ground or more like tackled me. The guy did run afterwards, but for some reason the guy that rushed me to the ground started chasing him and did catch him, afterwards he kicked him a few times and released him . I hope the guy wont come back and I am lucky that my friend's 22 year brother was there to protect me.

I still don't know if I should let my parents know about this.

Edit : Damn I'm in such a big shock now , so can't even tell the things I wrote even make sense.

Yeah, thats a tough situation. It was something that happened alot where i was in school, but i was fortunate to never experience it personally. But then again, being a 6'6" black kid never hurts.

Glad to hear you're alright.

The worst thing you can do is to refuse to give a person money when they're threatening you with an armed weapon, especially if you have no clue how to defend yourself. There's no sense in trying to be a hero like Chuck Norris, just give him the money and he most likely would've ran off.

You don't want to worry them, don't tell them. That's what I would do.

It's good that you didn't give it to him. Fear is one of the most primitive tools of having control, in this case "Do what I say, or else..." Most people won't do it, and if they would, they would probably do it anyways even if you did give them the money.

Also, how did the money get on the ground?

Thank god I'm finally feeling better and I am out of the shock faze.

And I do appreciate your support guys.

I can't believe I was in shock when I saw the knife though. The friend who tackled me showed me a lot of ways how to get a weapon from a person or how to defend myself. I suppose I didn't really think about kicking the weapon away. I guess even though I could I was in to much of a shock to kick the knife away.

And Pdub, the money fell out of my pocket while playing and I picked it up and put it back into it. Then he started getting all crazy on me.

Also I am happy I didn't tell the folks, mum would probably get a heart attack.

Glad you're okay, Pera. And yeah, don't tell your parents, as you said your mom would probably get a heart attack and your father (if he's like my father) would probably ask you who was the guy that did it, and then get his rifle and probably kill the guy. Okay, maybe not kill him. But he'd do some serious damage to that kid.

Good thing you're not injured or murdered. Next time, don't bring 50 Euros to a basketball scrimmage.

My father is definetly like your father , Joe . Hehe, thank god we don't have a rifle, but yeah I'll keep quiet about this.

I didn't intend to even play basketball that day, I just stopped for five minutes and my mate got me into the game .

At least everything is alright

If his parents were like my parents, theyd have assumed it was his fault and made him stay in the house for his "protection".

Tis tru though, its hard to keep a level head through crap like that. Youre no less of a person for freaking, you arent a frikkin navy seal or anything. 85 percent of us here, me included, would have done the exact same thing.

Reading some posts from the previous pages of this thread, some steams are caused by girls, so I'm going to join the wagon.

I've accompanied a girl (she's a pal that became an interest as the years gone by) for like 4 years, and ended up with nothing since she's not talking to me about her relationships. I have no clue whether she's "vacant" or not. After more than 4 years, I've got nothing, I just realized that she'' soon marry her douchebag fiance(a rich guy, that looks twice older than I am).

So I just left off, like nothing happened. Since I became sick of the same old stuff for a quarter of my life.

I met some other girl back last summer (March here in the Philippines), she's quite cute. She's also a do-it-all, and also a good singer. I just got hooked in looking at her eyes just lately, when I decided to leave the girl I mentioned in the paragraph above.

And minutes ago, I learned that this girl has a boyfriend. Sheesh.

Alright, I think it should not be called steam, maybe fart would be better.

meh I share your pain.

I've been kinda going after this one cute asian chick in my class. she's been cool but she admitted to me she's into white guys. she never said anything about asian guys, but i guess i was kinda in denial and hoping that i would be able to break down stereotypes and change her mind. but i guess in the end, it wasn't enough because she stopped responding to my text messages, that bitch.

Cool, now this page has girl steams.

Q, some chicks are like that. They don't give you a formal hint.

Believe me, there are worse things, man. I've managed to experience a few.

I once went on a date with a chick I was really into only to hear her say the classic "I just got out of a really serious relationship, blah, blah, blah", which is pure crap. I mean, do you even think about getting into a serious relationship when you're fifteen? But, as I said, I was really into this girl and I didn't really pay attention.

After we got out of the theater (I even had to suffer a two-hour chick flick and pay for her ticket), she says she's not in the mood to continue our date and that she will call me, so I took her home and took the tram back downtown to watch a decent movie.
I didn't even have time to get out of the car that she's there making out with this 4'10" kindergarden kid with the Moscow Circus on his face (pimples, scars and all).
And it's not over yet.

Depressed as I never had experienced, I headed to McDonald's to choke myself with a Big Tasty and extra size french fries.

As I finished my Sprite, I saw an old girlfriend get in, so we started to talk, I told her what just happened and she got all "Oh, you poor thing", and proposed to go to the theater, so we went to the theater (again had to pay for her ticket but at least I got to watch a decent movie) and made out, then went to the bathroom, made out some more. I later took her home and went home to sleep.

The morning after, I called her and it turns out "What happened yesterday was a mistake, it was only a 'one-time thing' ".
I was all "WTF! I'm the one supposed to say that!".
You can imagine how shitty I felt. I don't go out with a girl since then (It's been almost six months.)

So don't complain, man, there's always worse. Especially when it comes to women.

damn joe thats pretty bad. first sign of a girl that you dont want to date is one that just left a relationship. they almost always get lured, or want to go, back. for awhile i was in a serious relationship that had no real future. after the break off i kinda hopped from girl to girl before thinking it was time to find another relationship. when i did i tried with 3 different girls. the first 2 i went on one date with. during both of those 2 dates the girl i was with ran into someone she used to really like but nothing happened(so they both said). both of them slept with this guy on the same night we went on the date. then i got the "friends" thing but being the asshole that i am i just told them to go fuck themselves. the 3rd girl was in a relationship and said she wanted better. however in the 2 months i knew and talked to her she went back with her x 3 different times. she then gave me the "friends" talk to which i replied "if i am sleeping with you we can be whatever you want". thats when that ended.

in the end i consider it a great thing as if i was stuck with any of those 3 i never would have met my wife and i would not be a father of 2 right now so sometimes the bad situations end up for the best

You should hear what I went through.

I was in a relationship with a girl for 2 and a half years, only to be dumped because she realized that she was a lesbian. And no, it's not an excuse, she is a lesbian. Yeah, that was a very difficult moment, but it was a blessing in disguise.

Fortunately, I'm in a great relationship right now, going a year strong with a gorgeous girl that I'm probably going to end up marrying.

We have a winner! Man, you're the Ross Geller of the NLSC.

Seriously, that must've been an awful time for you to go through. I'm glad you're okay now, I mean, most men (I - if I qualify as 'man' - am the perfect example) would still be emotionally dead after going through that.

Man, I wish I could do that. I just can't talk like that to a girl that just dumped me, I'm too weak.

I'm glad things ended for the best for you two. I hope I can manage to find a girl that's really interested in me like you did.
