Starting 07/08 dynasty season with Andrew's newest rosters..

Thu Jul 26, 2007 8:00 pm

Hello! I want to start 07/08 season with Andrew's newest rosters, but I don't know how to do that properly. Because I don't want to sim 06/07 season and make my rookies the sophmores in next season, so is there any way to replace files or something in the save forlder or something?

You can try simulating the 2006/2007 season with the 2006/2007 rosters (althought it really wouldn't matter which rosters you choose to sim the first season with) and then copy the DBF files from the roster update into the Dynasty save, leaving all .dat files intact.

did this work?

I can't think of anything else you'd need to do if you want to give it a shot. Just don't overwrite a Dynasty in progress unless you've made a backup first. You can't be too careful when messing around with the databases.

I would suggest only overwriting the players.dbf, faces.dbf, coaches.dbf and accessories.dbf files.

That actually would be a safer route, yes. (Y)

Does it work in any way?

Cause when I tried to copy the files mentioned before, the game crashed while loading the dynasty save or didn't have any data (like no players on the roster, no schedule etc.)

Did you copy all the files or just the ones Pdub listed?

I tried both, but I didn't work either...

I think it's because of duplicate dbf entries for player progression. After training camp, any of your players may have a duplicate entry in the players.dbf because their ratings changed during training. Maybe if you can add those duplicate entries into the new roster, then it might work.

yeah I thougt that to but my DB-Commander trial version has expired and so I can't try it out...

Download OpenOffice. It's free and it can open and save the dbf files correctly and modify them much easier, especially in cases like this.

For basic editing, DB Commander remains functional after the trial period. The advanaced import/trasnfer features are disabled though.
