Tony D's LIVE 97 MOD: Young Toine,Kobe, older Drexler prv. p5

Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

Postby UltraNIX on Wed Jan 03, 2007 7:19 am

and i'm sure notorious b....... also done many other players cyberfaces for his retro teams (or at least the cyberfaces were in the mod) for 06, so i guess those could be used as well..and the further investigation there is needed, because, even if the cyberface for the player is already created, maybe notorious b......'s faces were better (because some of the faces in this mod are way too crappy)..

i also edited some other lefties and changed some names of the players (like Kiki instead of Ernie Vandeweghe) and i'm gonna send updated players.dbf to you tony d.

and regarding stupid ea's bug - pg issue. i tried to double up and defend only kenny smith (houston's PG) in on-ball and off-ball situations, and he still came up with 40 pts, 14 ast. with that being said, maybe the adjusted ratings could help solving this issue. for example. in the way i defend/play - the pg mainly drives into the lane or shoots 3. so, if we decrease pg's primacy rating and 3pt attempt ratings, maybe this could help at least a little. if a decent pg could end up with 15 pts and 7 ast - that would make sense.

i know that bayag has done many of them for 06 but it takes way too much time to convert them to 07 compatible so that's the problem..i'm just going to wait bayag to release new classic teams and add the player faces to the game later..

for the starting lineups, they are based on how many games a player has started in 91/92 season and not statistics..

i think that the primacy and 3pt attempt ratings are for only simulation not for the actual gameplay, someone correct me if i'm wrong

what to expect on next version:

- corrected player handedness
- added correct nicknames to players
- draft & school info updated
- corrected some ratings
- fixed some speechid's and cyperfaces
- added about 20 free agents including some legendary players
- corrected some player appearances
- fixed some player positions
- updated teamgear.dbf with 91-92 jerseys as default by UltraNIX

also lefties are fixed by UltraNIX ;) though i'm not a credit-prone...

 dave debusschere and george mikan are already created by EA SPORTS, so you could use their default textures, which are way better than create-a-player. (i already edited players.dbf, fixing that)

EDIT:
 Sarunas Marciulionis (GSW) is rather a shooter than a passer, and he is quicker than the rating you gave him. he should run the floor and play like manu ginobili (use his physical ratings for reference)
 glen rice a dunker (having a superstar dunk icon)????  with all respect i have to glen, he was my favourite player back then, but he has never been a dunker and his moves were hardly called flashy. he was a true shooter, but he dunked only on a very rare occasions.

95/96 Rosters released as a part of a Megapack, because i've found it much simpler to keep these files as one package..tell me what you think and if there is some problems hit me with a message here!

Your roster patch is great, the best i think. I think it would be a good idea to do with roster 95/96 and 97/98 exactly like in 91/91 with the jerseys on startup. What do you think? Is this posible to make? Or please write me instruction how to do it by myself.

Tony,
Thanks for making these rosters. I still see some missing cyberfaces from 95/96. Is there something that I can do to fix this or will there be another update?

Holy moly.

Y'know, after FileFront gave me grief downloading the rosters at first, I was mad as heck to find that none of the cyberfaces worked. I was going to come here and rant and rave. Then, in a moment of introspection, I remembered that I didn't get any 'overwrite this file?' confirmations, which I should have gotten seeing as how I had other retro patches. I checked one more time and... yeah. I'd stupidly put the files in a folder named sgsm inside of the sgsm folder. I copied them over, and problem solved. I'm glad I kept my fat mouth shut!

As for the rosters, now that I've stopped screwing them up, I love them. I want more! lol This is one of the best things going for Live 07. I used to love the historical rosters for the old Lives, the ones that would go back year-by-year for about 15 years. I'm glad to see something like that again, especially something as high quality as this. Keep up the good work. I would like to see updates someday, patching in the missing jerseys (Cavs mid/late 90s, Sonics late 90s) and tightening up of the project as a whole. I'm like to see a log-in logo for this, personally. I've been toying with a few ratings to my liking, but mostly they are right on target, and need no further work. I did notice that some players have very shiny heads when combined with the Xbox lighting found elsewhere on this forum. This may be just the lighting, and doesn't distract from play.

Most of all though, I'd love to see more of them. Maybe something early 2000s? I'd really like to see the 92/93 season, for reasons I can't explain. It just sounds right. Good job overall!

Tony,
Thanks again for these rosters. Have you thought of doing any from the 80's or 70's? Has anyone considered adding retro courts for the 95/96 season?

80's or 70's rosters would be very hard to do because of the resources (portraits, every cyberfaces to make, ...).
At least, when we do a 90's roster we already have 90% of the cyberfaces and portraits in the game...

Very good idea about the courts i already think about that. Maybe looser o lagoa can make some retro courts ? :o
