Codebase Error

Postby tj1182 on Tue Dec 19, 2006 1:16 pm

I think I put this in the wrong section. I'm in the middle of my dynasty and all of a sudden I get a codebase error saying that file players.dbf in the working db folder caused it to crash. I tried replacing it with the original but no luck, any ideas?

I've had this a couple of times myself. What I did was I opened the players.dbf with MS Office Excel and saw that there are green triangles (or something) in the lower right corner of some cells (indicating the error). Rewrite the information in the cells and the triangle-thing should disappear. Save the .dbf and try to play your dynasty.

I don't see anything indicated they are errors. Could you take a look at it?

If you've edited the file with MS Excel or MS Access, you may have corrupted the database by saving it incorrectly. If that's the case, there's not much you can do except start again.

Actually I edited it with DB commander. Is there a way that when I start over I can simulate until where I was, and then add my stats?

Season stats are stored in players.dbf, specifically the SSTATS columns.

I started a new dynasty and replacing the players.dbf and the stats are there, is there any way I could replace the season standings?

I'm not sure if it's possible since we haven't had much luck with it in the past but if it is, it would probably be achieved by editing the SHWINS (Season Home Wins), SAWINS (Season Away Wins), SHLOSSES (Season Home Losses) and SALOSSES (Season Away Losses) fields in teams.dbf and tmcareer.dbf.

Actually I took the teams.dbf and replaced into my new dynasty and so far it's working, I simulated the whole season and had no problems so far.
