I use the Heat in my Dynasty, and I take less than a 100 shots per game. Would this patch fix the User shot selection too?

Well that depends on you. If the computer is taking alot of shots per game, you will probably get more chances to take shots, also.

You'd probably put in some recommended sliders too. Coz I believe the number of shots depends on the game speed.

From the User standpoint, it largely depends on how much of the shot clock you yourself choose to use...

During a recent test I watched a little bit of a game between San Antonio and Phoenix. I know that I am on the right track because almost every play the cpu just jogged towards the top of the three point line to set up a play rather than run down the sidelines hoping to penetrate to the basket. But, when I decided to jump in the game, the cpu pg decided on penetration instead of set plays. I'm on the right track.

Here is my latest acceptable results. I've been editing this shit forever and its starting to piss me off. A few times I thought I had it perfect, but the next game I played the cpu's PG would penetrate his way to 30 shots.

I am not considering this a release point yet, but if anybody wants to try it out and give me some feedback, send me a pm.

During this journey of learning about the assignment (Artificial Intelligence rules) file in the AIACT I have learned alot abou the game.

If I completely fix the PG trying to drive to the rack while bringing the ball up, I will disable the potential for PG's like Allen Iverson to have good scoring games.

I have learned how to defend the PG correctly during transition which causes them to decide to run a set play.

The more I edit, the more bugs show up.

With that said, here are the stats and shots of the two latest games I played.

I think I am pretty close to releasing.

Thanks for the encouragement.

Anyone notice that the Pf isn't getting shots? Hmm....wonder what I can try to do about it.

there's a problem. if you defend a point guard, it may decrease shot attempts made by PG. but, other players will have open shots and of course will hit them. and by guarding PG you will lose the ability to control the board and leave it to your luck.

You really only need to guard the PG during transition. If you bump him a few times between halfcourt and the free throw line, he will either pass or set up a play. I really can't stop the PG from trying to drive because it causes issues with other parts of the gameplay. I'm just trying to increase the probability of setting up a play or passing after getting bumped instead of the pg ignoring the other 4 players and just forcing its way in after consecutive bumps. Once the pg backs up to set up a play, then I switch to a big man or a stopper.

there's one more bug by EA that i use quite frequently. whenever the CPU players crosses the halfcourt line, you need to step up in a distance, that is very close to the end of center circle, hold "take a charge" button...and guess what happens? CPU player is messed up, tries to get away, but is not getting close to you, but eventually steps back and that results in backcourt violation call. you may not occur this too often, but if you get familiar with this, it may sometimes help.

i also noticed that steals are practically removed. i don't remember the last time i was manually trying to steal the ball from the CPU player and it resulted in a steal...

Artificial Intelligence Update Released

Download

There is no need to change any sliders that you are used to. I do recommend putting on-ball physical defense to something high like 80 or 90, along with on-ball defensive assist. It does not contain any new animations.

Please give me some feedback.

Amazing! I think best gameplay so far! (Y) I play Pistons&Clippers and Brand scores 25, but Livingston only 7! :D Maybe to easy, because I crashed down Clippers, result was 98:73! I played at Superstar! Only one gameplay problem - Livingston go to 3point line and dribled, dribled and dribled, but only some times. I think you fixed this in next version!
One question to you Pdub - how you edit act files, which program do you use? Please give me answer! :)

Awesome (Y)
The gameplay is great and realistic. Here's my result :

Everything works really fine just few things should be mentioned :
1. Star players ( Kobe for example) use Freestyle moves for ALL of his shots that's why his FG percentage is really high, so he's almost unstoppable.
2. Sometimes PG stands at a top of the arc and keeps bouncing the ball till the time runs out.
Anyway Great Job  (Y)

That FG % is quite high, you might want to turn down the cpu shooting sliders a bit. Here's what my cpu shooting sliders are at if you want to try something different.

Short / Medium and Long Range - 39
Poor Release - 40
Dunk - 65
Layup -35
Adjusted Shot - 30, Frequency - 25

I have been working on the issue where a player will just stand still and dribble.

I just tested it a little, and it looks excellent, even if I will have to adapt to the new gameplay (I was loosing by more than 10 points in the 1st quarter, but that's only because I was accustomed to the old gameplay).

Except the glitch of the CPU standing and dribbling, this aiact is perfect for me so far, the shot end pass distribution is very good, and I will try to give you more details when I will play a longest game.

thx a lot, great job on this patch! (Y)
