Yeah I live in NY so I gotta make this guy. I'm really having trouble getting the right headshape.

these are the only two good pictures I could find...there isn't one picture where you can see his face and he's not smiling. Not a big deal, though, I couldn't find a good reece gaines pick and it came out ok



I really don't know what headshape to use right now...MAYBE Shareef...

If anybody could recomend some, that would be cool...it would speed the process up a lot

Also, has anybody out there made a st. John's uni?? Cause that would go awesome with this...if nobody has, and by the time I'm done with this someone really likes it and can make a st. john's uniform with his number that would be AWESOME...if not then I'll guess I'll give jersey's a try. This would only be my 4th try at a cyberface...and if I were to add practice gear I would really like it to be top notch

I had actually looked at those players...ricky would be great but his mouth is too small in the game and that area seems to pop out on the model...

I also looked at darius, but his eyes really screw it up, ha

I thought lorenzen right would work but his nose is too small and too long, and his head with a headband looks straight up silly. It doesn't have the errors, the headband is just too big for his head, heh

thanks for the suggestions so far, I'll keep looking myself. So far I'm thinking derek anderson might work but I'm worried his head might be too wide

actually....now that I have looked at it a second time, it looks like using ricky's headshape is worth a try

I'm worried ea really messed up the mapping on his nose...but it's the closest one so far, so why not try it

ricky davis is totally the right call. just shred out that smile stuff and use rickys lower mouth.

sorry guys for taking so long, I worked on this sporadically...didn't really touch it for the last 2 days..maybe more...well I retouched it a bit...got rid of the cornrows because ricky davis' headshape has a little morphing thing up a the top of the head that makes the rows all crooked

since I don't have the polygon maps it's basically just trial and error till I get it right....and I will get it right, but I figured I'd post previews of the face so I can get some feedback on it

anyway here you go...again, negative and positive are welcome





I will also give the practice gear a shot...would be my first time. I'm gonna try to give him his old St. John's uniform...we'll see how that goes. But for now, how is the face?

Andreas Dahl: I might be using one or two of your shoe patches for this. I would give you credit in the readme with a link to your site as well as credit on the preview.

and I might use Major Pain's jersey textures just to speed up the process of the practice gear

anyway, I know the 'rows are gonna be the hardest part so i'll probably leave that for last. I'll have some fun and try something new with the practice gear for now

I know about the cornrows, like I said ricky davis' headshape has a little morph at the top that makes the crooked and not having polygon maps means I just have to go by trial and error until they look right

but for now I figured I'd post the face so i could get some feedback on it, cause the cornrows are gonna be a project in themselves

oh and about the skin color. I know he looks really dark in those pictures but in almost every action shot I've seen he's much lighter...plus I got some summer workout picks and they all have varying skin colors

so I figured I wouldn't make him too dark...but not too light since I know camera lighting works wonders on people's skin color...

I'll think about darkening it once I'm all done...but I would have to use a custom skin tone because I don't think the greenish #5 would fit. A custom acc file ain't that hard to make, though

I used the ricky davis headshape as recommended...I had considered it before but had discarded it. Good thing I posted here for suggestions because it ended up being the closest one available (to my knowledge)

I'm basically done with the st. john practice uniform...(including sju headband) I just gotta tweak it a little bit for sharpness and it should be fine. I want to thank Major Pain for saving me some time with his template

After that, I'll work on the 'rows and I'll post a pre-release preview for any final feedback before I release it.

is the problem u got with the rows that when u look at him in the game from different ankles some parts of the cornrows (on top of his head) seem 2 disappear? i had that when makin the cornrows version 4 neusorgers nikagbatse, it took me quite some time 2 get it right...have fun figurin it out...lol

dramacydal: nah, the mapping of ricky's headshape just isn't that great...right above the forehead, dead center on the top side of the head...there is streching. You can see it even in the default ricky...there's some morphing there

that's all due to not-so-top-notch mapping out of the 3d model...which I can deal with...but it's just trial and error until the lines go around the right spots...if you just make a normal line curving around the head perfectly it'll make the lines crooked once it maps out in 3d

anyway, I overwrote the last version of the uniform with and old one so i basically had to start over...but I'm done with the sju practice gear now...it's like 3:34 am so I might go to sleep...or I might take a break and bust out the 'rows

either way this will be done today....that being the 20th...
