Thank you for that responce Rob. There is a general feeling of neglect throughout all of the NBA Live Fan Communities and hopefully through contact with the Production Team there can be an understanding between the communities and this company.
I look forward to possibly having a dialog with the NBA Live Production team or hearing from them about this issue.
Thanks again

Hi,
Unfortunately, I cannot speak towards the level of production involved in the graphics or textures used in such for the game. Anything I would tell you would be a guess. That said, I will see if we can get something more official from the NBA Live production team or product management team that could give you more information on why the decisions were made with deferrence to the graphics and how they appear in game. As soon as I receive any information, I will be in touch and I will also make sure to forward your contact information should they choose to provide you with a direct response instead.
Thanks again for writing!

Hi, thank you for another response
I must apologize for not clearly stating my initial question. The graphics on the back of the PC-DVD show the graphics of the XBOX 1 (current generation) NBA Live 07. The graphics differ dramatically between the PC version of Live 07 from the Xbox 1 version of the game.
These are pictures showing the back of the box for the PC version of the game; (ISBN 0-7845-4110-8)
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/box1.JPG
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/box2.JPG
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/box3.JPG
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/box4.JPG
These two textures are textures from the 76ers Home Jerseys.
This texture was extracted from the 76ers Home Uniform file for the PC Version: http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/phillyhomePC.bmp
This texture was extracted from the 76ers Home Uniform file for the Original XBOX: http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/p ... meXBOX.bmp
As you can see the xbox file resembles the shadows shown on the back of the PC box while the PC texture is lower in quality.
Because of my miscommunication does this information change your response?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting EASPORTS Technical Support regarding the issue you've expressed with the differences in how the graphics are displayed for the PC and Xbox 360 versions of NBA Live 07. In reviewing this issue, the images as listed on the back of the NBA Live 07 box for the PC-DVD version of the game are much brighter (smaller resolution-sized mapping) than for the high-end console versions of the game. This is done, in part, to address the largest possible audience using the PC-DVD version of the game as opposed to console users who are all using the exact same equipment with no variation (or very little physical variation). After looking over the images taken in screen capture from your system, those images are closest to the images shown on the back of the PC-DVD packaging (ISBN 0-7845-4110-8). Unfortunately, the majority of movies or screens you will find regarding the game online will be taken from the next-gen version of the game (Xbox 360) and, in truth, it is not indicative of what either the Xbox, Playstation 2, or PC-DVD / EA Link downloader versions of the game may look like. In light of this, we have taken your concerns up to the EASPORTS marketing arm as it is their call as to what is published for the public in terms of upsaling the game. While I do not know the outcome of this inquiry we are making, should there be an official statement from them, I will contact you again and let you know.
Thanks again for your understanding,
Rob M.

Thank you for your help Jayson and James, but my issue has still not been resolved.
I have a very good knowledge of the NBA Live files, where textures are kept and how the game displays these textures while playing. My question still remains unanswered.
Why is it impossible for ANY user to achieve graphics like those advertised on the back of the box?
Please do not ask about my computer / monitor or anything to that nature, that is not the problem here. The problem is there is no way that $40 DVD can produce the graphics that were advertised as gameplay screenshots on the back of the box.

Hi,
What monitor are you using? Perhaps this would depend on the capabiities of your monitor as well. If you have a high definition monitor, this will greatly affect the sharpness and detail of the game.
I have looked over the system information included with your email and it appears that you have an old Driver for you video card. You may want to check for an updated driver. Go to the following website and follow the simple instructions to download the latest drivers. The following instructions are solely provided as a general guide as each manufacturer may utilize a different method for installation.
These drivers can be obtained by taking the following steps:
· Go to: http://mirror.ati.com/support/driver.html
· There you will see three boxes. In the first box, Choose your Operating System.
· In the second box, choose the type of Video card you have. Choose Radeon.
· In the third box, choose the video card you're using. You have a
· Click on "Go ".
· Click on the the "Display Driver" link on Option 2.
It should then prompt you to begin the download. Be mindful of any additional Install or download instructions that ATI recommends.

I have attached a screenshot of my settings I use when I play NBA Live 07 and my dxdiag information.
Response (EA Tech James K.) 12/04/2006 12:05 AM
Hi,
Well I agree. Are your game settings set to all high? In order to further troubleshoot your issue, I'm going to need additional system information. Please send me this information from a program called dxdiag.exe. To do this:
· Go to Start -> Run.
· In the box, type the following: dxdiag
· Click "OK"
· Click the "Save All Information" button on the first screen of the application.
· Then on top of the "Save As" box that pops up, select Desktop (if it's not set to save there already), then click Save.
· Finally, attach the dxdiag.txt to your email reply.
After we receive this file we can continue troubleshooting the issues at hand and hopefully come to a solution.

I have a 256mb ATI x800 which according to EAsyInfo (and personal expirience) is more than enough to run this game at full settings smoothly.
I guess I should re-word this; I've looked at the uniform textures that the game uses and nothing in the game files look like the uniform textures used on the box or in the tutorial videos.
I believe this would qualify as false advertising since no matter what I do out of the box the game's graphics could never look like the back of the box. I have linked to images from the videos from the game whose graphics look like those on the back of the box, and I've attached gameplay screenshots with no uniform or lighting patches installed.
From the Tutorial Videos
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/JKidd%20Video.jpg
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/R ... eo%202.jpg
From in game screenshots using the replay mode
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/JKiddIngame.jpg
http://www.nba-live.com/jaosming/Temp/R ... 20Game.jpg
As you can see the jerseys in the game look nothing like the jerseys used in the tutorial videos which also look like the back of the box screen captures.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting EA Technical Support and for your interest with the NBA Live 07! I’m sorry for the difficulty that you are having with the game.
The graphics on the game depends on the technical capabilities of your video card. You should want to contact your video card manufacturer regarding the features of your video card. Please also make sure that your video card is supported by the game. Here is the list of supported video cards for your reference.
Supported 64MB 3D Direct 3D chipsets:
• NVIDIA GeForce3 or greater.
• ATI Radeon 7500 or greater.
• The Intel 915, 945 and 950 .
Note: Laptop versions of these chipsets may work, but are not officially supported. The NVIDIA GeForce2/4 MX series are also not supported.
If you have any other questions feel free to reply to this e-mail, and I will be very glad to help you out to the best of my ability.

I was curious about the graphics in this game. I purchased it for the PC and the graphics in the game look nothing like the graphics in the intro/tutorial videos, or on the back of the box. Jerseys look crisp and realistic while in game they look plain and painted on.
Is there some patch I can use to make the game look like the back of the box? NBA Live 07 runs smoothly on my computer with all detail settings maxed and my computer has the ability to run higher detail in textures.
