The biggest gameplay problems for me are the blocks and offensive rebounds. I can rack these up with a +20 differential to the computer
I have tried many patches, and really...none have been to my satisfaction
Now there are fundamental flaws in the game that we can't do anything about...I can get the o-board off a missed freethrow 75% of the time. That's no good. And once you know the ai's tendencies (like jacking up 3's)...then it's easy to know when to go for the block
What I have done is turned both ratings for ALL players to 0 (50)
This way, blocking is only guided by the quickness of the player, how tall he is, his body type and how high he can jump.
Just like in real life.
Same with offensive boards, since it was too easy for me to get them, I figured I give everybody a minimum rating and if you get the board, you got it on your own merit
I have experienced extremely realistic results when I have simulated games. Especially with blocks.
When I have played against the cpu, I still have the advantage due to the aformentioned ai flaws...
no matter what anyone does, I will always get more blocks and more offensive boards than the computer and the cpu will always get more steals than me. Ok there have been times where I got more steals, but 90% of the time the cpu has a ridiculous steal advantage.
Back up you dbf file, and edit all blocking ratings to 0
let me know how it goes
