12 Minute quarter ROSTER PATCH in making.

Postby elwudl on Wed Aug 13, 2003 11:58 pm

Guys you all know the problem of 03, you can't play 12 min quarters because of getting to high scores.

By now I was trying and trying and trying around with the ratings of the players. I've been nearly becoming mad, until I found (perhaps) a solution.

For every single characteristic like FG, 3pt, speed... I made up a 5-step rating. That means there are only 5 possibilities how good a player can be at one thing.
Example: let's take the speed. I chose the following possibilities (raw rating/EA rating): very slow (10/55), slow (20/60), normal (30/65), fast (40/70), very fast (50/75). Of course that's not perfect, but in this way there aren't that much fast breaks and the speed of the game is ok, too. Perhaps some really for example fast players will get a +5/+2 bonus but not more (will do that with every rating).

I've done that with nearly every rating and get stats, that are quite realistic for 12 min quarters. When you wanna give the roster a try post and post your oppinion and stats here, plz write down your email-adress and I will send it to you!

Soon I will put some stats in here too.

I updated Denver, Seattle and San Antonio by now.

Here is the statistic of the first quarter of the match between San Antonio (me) vs. Denver (cpu). I played at Simulation (!!!) otherwise it will not work. Arcade doesn't fit in that good. Def. fouls full. Off. fouls about 3/4 of maximum. Cpu assistence and the rest of the crap of.

This 44% he shot don't make sure he hits every shot. Furthermore he does not take that much shots in real life.
I think it were Parker, Ginobili and Turkoglu that missed.

What I forgot:
The main part if you get realistic scores depends on yourself and your style of playing!

What will the player overall ratings be like? Kobe, T-mac like maybe a 85?

No no! I didn't want to make a roster u can use in franchise mode because then the overall ratings will be crap.

For example I gave Ray Allen a 89, Duncan a 96, Melo a 81. While players like Jeff Trepagnier got a 72.

Sorry, but 12 min quarters in franchise mode and getting realistic stats seems to be nearly impossible in live 03!

Of course I will releaz the roster. Didn't want to say that I won't release it. But it will be for season mode, not for franchise mode. For franchise mode I suggest Joemimics roster.

Oh that's what I said in the readme. I do not guarantee good stats, when yo do not all the things that I suggested (instructions):
you should play superstar.
