City names and team nicknames can be found in teams.dbf. Please note that changing the name in the dbf will not alter the name in any team art; for those you'll need to edit the team's art files.

1. Using DB Commander (available in the Downloads section), open teams.dbf. When editing dbf files, it's best to save a roster and then edit the dbf files in the appropriate folder under My Documents\NBA Live 07\saves

2. The field you want to edit is TEAMNAME. This is a plain text field, so simply type in the new name you'd like to use.

3. Move to another cell in the database, close DB Commander. When you reload the rosters from within the game the team's name will have changed.

If you're adding a portrait for a created player, please note you'll also need to have a cyberface for him as well. Assuming you do...

1. Open players.dbf, locate the player.
2. Change his ISCREATED value to False
3. Assign him a PLAYERPKG value that matches the filename of the cyberface and portrait files. Traditionally, those files are named using the first two letters of his first name and first five letters of his surname (eg MIJORDA for Michael Jordan).
4. Open appearance.dbf, locate the player
5. Change FACEID to -1.

If you're installing a new portrait for an original player (ie one included in the default roster), all you need to do is place it in the sgsm folder and the game will load that one instead. Just make sure the filename matches his PLAYERPKG.
