Announcing is ridiculous

Postby m12 on Fri Nov 17, 2006 6:11 am

am I the only person who thinks the announcing has become ridiculous in NBA Life 2007? First off, some players they rip! This is the first sports game I've ever played where the announcers are negative about players, it's weird that the league would allow it.

But some of the comments are ridiculously long. Have you heard the one about Ben Wallace and free throw shooting and Rick Barry.... it goes on for like literally a minute. I was able to complete like 3 or 4 possessions before they got through it. It's just absurd!

then pause the game, and go back. that should stop the commentary.

and if you still dont like it, make a playlist in windows media player and play it while you play (and turn off the commentators)
Opinions are my own.

Aren't these both things that sports commentators do in real life?.

Exactly. If anything, it adds more realism to the commentary tracks.

I haven't yet seen examples where commentators are -negative- in insulting ways. They discuss different issues related to players, positive and negative aspects and such is always alright in my opinion. Unless there is 'This player sucks' type of commentary ingame, which I don't believe there is, it's alright.

Kerr and Albert were given the chance to improvise what they would say and what they'd discuss regarding different players, which is a really nice touch. I love the commentary (and am less interested in play by play, but I suppose in time you'll have heard all the side-commentaries and discussions and would just settle with play by play), and this year more than ever before I've learned of things I did not know about. Like the discussion about new freethrow technique options for big men of the league like Shaq and Ben :)

I Havn't seen it to, as a matter affact I like the announcing team in last few years.
And if you had an announcing team that talk negative all the time? dosen't make sence..

If you don't like it you can always turn them off

(sorry for my english  )

I actually qiute enjoy it, especially when the first time that happened I was the Bulls playing Miami so , of course, Shaq got a mention. I love the fact that there's some realism added, even the court announcer paging someone and then mentioning the 'sponsor' .
Randy - 'Did you know Earl that before we was humans we was monkeys?'
Earl - 'Hmmm, What were we before we were monkeys?'
Randy - 'I don't know...I don't even remember being a monkey'

I guess they don't watch basketball!! I think just having play by play is boring, it's good to have some extra commentary

Because these types of long commentaries can only be heard once. Do you want to listen to a long spiel more than once? Just think when you play dynasty mode and you have to listen to the same 30+ second commentaries every game. it's quite annoying. give me normal play-by-play is fine.

Then quit your whining and buy 2k7 if you want to hear normal play by play.
