What didn't work? How did you test it, where you able to download the file? Little more description might help

Also after you download and install this patch have you tried installing the "main" patch...

actually this is the leaked beta which people have been playing before the bugged official patch came out.

All 3 gave me same error. I reinstalled the game fresh and tried each patch on a fresh install of the game they all give the oldfile error. How could this be so complicated for you people. The patch doesnt work for US downloaded version. None of the patches have worked.

FYI, since I didn't play the game before the patch's came out, I don't know what to expect, but i've thrown 2 alley-ops, the point guard passes and Vince Carter was subbed out for Wright on the computer team.

What can I do to verify if this is working properly or not?

ok i'm looking at stamina and the other team is tired, i haven't made any changes to the game in terms of sub freq or anything so I have no clue how its set

I really dont want to hear how your game works when i paid hard earned money for mine and cant complete a single season game without crashing to desktop!!! I was willing to deal with the bugs. If i cant save a season or Dynasty then this game is worthless!!!!!!

I'm on two computers, but I would like to know if this is the actual patch or just a working beta version??? I'm trying to help out others and learn myself

i'm sure you're trying to help everyone, but i don't see whats so hard about this. that patch was found from an old thread on the live forums, and is the same exact patch as the leaked beta down to every last byte. the only official patch released up to now still does not work. so, we all just have to wait on EA again.

Well let me try and explain again..... Didn't EA take down that patch from their website for awhile? even if they didn't when I downloaded it and tried to install it, IT DID NOT INSTALL, however i downloaded from the link I posted and it installed, that alone makes me think its a different patch but maybe I'm wrong, either way most people complain that the patch will not install, so i recomment they do the normal EA official patch, and if that doesn't work, then click the link i provided and see if that installs. Have you tried the patch I posted? if you have the DVD english version and the game doens't work right for you then maybe you should

It amazes me how much people complain when someone is trying to help them, i coudlnt' play/install the game before, now I can, so maybe its the patch they inteneded to upload via their website but linked the wrong file...

but hey, if you're happy with a working beta because the first time you tried it wouldn't install, then its all good for you. but why the SAME beta patch that worked for everyone else didn't work for you is beyond me.

Did you notice any changes after you installed it

If you did download and install it today and didn't notice anything, then your right its not the right one, if you did not download and install today, then do that 1st


also, over 900 people have read this post but not lots of replies, can people who have download this link TODAY

It worked for me when I first installed it a while back and it still works for me. It worked for many people who had the english DVD version, but no others.

Are you sure its the same file? I understand that it in the QA section, but when I first downloaded it, it didnt install but this one did, so maybe they tweaked it, thats why I ask people to tell me the difference they have seen. So my question is are you sure? meaning you installed the 1st patch and then installed this patch and had no difference?? or are you saying it is because its in the same dir?? also what did the beta patch change?

YES i downloaded the patch today, YES i installed it today, and YES its exactly the same as the beta patch i downloaded previously. like i said, down to the very last byte. the patch version is 7.00 if you want to compare it to yours, and like i said earlier, i have the DVD version of the game. anything else i need to make clear to you?

Yes its the exact same file, I compared it in a hex editor.

The beta patch is NOT the official released patch, they are different.
The patch version 7.00 is of the RTP patch version used to create the patch, not the actual file version.

I installed the beta patch when it was first discovered. It worked fine.
I downloaded the official patch, restored the original files from the CD since the beta patch had already changed them, adn I got the "Old File..." error.
I reinstalled the beta patch.

The Beta patch added sliders for CPU auto subs, a fatigue on/off option, a cyberface for Rolando or Ronaldo Balkman, ability to view AVG stats. ability to save stats during gameplay, and the CPU now subs players based on fatigue rather than just fouls.

It did not fix (for me) - the inverted text bug for direct pass, and the last man back functionality

Wow, that wasn't too hard now was it?? Since i never got the previous beta patch to work i don't know what differences to look for, if you read all my post also you would understand that but I don't expect you to read every post, just the one you're responding to...
also explain this to me, if when I downloaded it the 1st time and tried to install it didn't why would it install now? I mean as stupid as you think i am, clicking a file to install really isn't that hard, and it didn't install the 1st time. Also why have other people who couldn't install the beta patch the 1st time around able to install this (EXACT SAME) patch? unless its not the exact same, some changes must have happened.....

yes, i've read every word of your posts unlike yourself, and i know the first time you tried it didn't work. now if only YOU read my replies carefully, i already stated as to why it didn't work for you, i have no clue. but the patch you linked and the previous beta are exactly the same.
