Yea Kobe's playing, now I really want to see this game, and see if he's 100%, which I doubt.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 4:38 pm

Lakers win 118-112.. they are now 3-0.

odom had 28 points, luuuke had 20, kobe with 23 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists in his first game back. however he also had 6 TO's..pretty rusty..

but TURIAF again provided the heroics in the final few minutes, grabbing rebounds, making free throws, and in the same possesion blocked both wilcox and lewis!

ray allen had 15 points in the 1st half, 15 points in the 3RD QUARTER, but then SCORELESS in the 4th

Sat Nov 04, 2006 6:38 pm

ok well Kobe's playing semi-team ball for now... I give it a couple weeks before he goes back to his old self, and the Lakers start losing more as a result.
Lamar continues to impress me... especially with his clutch free throws at the end... he's definitely improved on that area.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 6:48 pm

Qballer, what if it doesn't happen? What if Kobe is how I've described him to be?

Good win by the Lakers, can't believe I missed the game cause I was out (N) Ah well, I'm betting on a 4-0 start with another win against the Sonics in 2 days. Kobe was a bit rusty but it takes time to get back into it!

First game it was Bynum, second game it was Ronny and this game it was Luke who stepped up to help lead the bunch :D Kudos to all of them! And Lamar is playing some of the best ball of his career and definitely his best ball as a Laker!

yeah he was so rusty, he forgot that he use to never pass the ball. like I said, this is only one game (against a lowly Sonics team they should've beaten easily) and give Kobe about 10 games before he's back to his regular form.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 6:57 pm

Hey man, who do you support? Just wanted to know...

and with the passing/non-passing thing, we will see who is right in 10 games time.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 7:46 pm

3-0 :D
Kobe returns :D
Luke with 20, Lamar continues to fill it up :D

Lakers are rolling along nicely now :D

Zoom wrote:Hey man, who do you support? Just wanted to know...

oh well, in case you couldn't tell... I'm a Kobe hater for life :P

but I'm a huge Lamar fan going back to his Clipper days...
honestly, I think Lamar is a better all-around player than Kobe.

Sat Nov 04, 2006 8:36 pm

They are both different types of players... I'm sure that Lamar is a better all-around player too. His height and length along with his rebounding skills, freaky court sense, sportsmanship makes him a better all-around player than Kobe. Not to take anything away from Kobe because he is good in his own right... but Kobe is a far superior attacker while Lamar is more of a walking triple double dude. That plus Lamar is evidently a lot more unselfish sort of closes the debate there.

Still, Kobe is the leader of this Lakers team and I don't see it changing at all. :P But I always liked the Lamar coming to LA and with Lamar and Kobe at the helm, I'm sure good things will come. Especially these two pushing Kwame to play well... :D

And you like Gary Payton? I think trading Payton away for Mihm was :D I like Mihm except for the fact that he's inconsistent on the road. Not many teams can boast of having three 7 footers on a roster... but how the Lakers got rid of him after he decided he wanted to stay was iffy...

And you haven't told me what team you liked :P You a Lakers dude cause of Lamar? And the Clippers with Lamar, Brand, Davis and D Miles :D <-- Those four were together at the same time right?

Sat Nov 04, 2006 9:16 pm

Oh yeah, My man's back!!

Love seeing the Lakers win, I'm so excited...

I agree Payton got shafted, but it all worked out for him in the long run :P
plus, Mihm is pretty much garbage. his best ability is picking up personal fouls.

no I'm not a Lakers dude because of Lamar. I grew up watching the Showtime Lakers... Magic is my favorite player of all time and I watched him and the likes of Worthy, Scott, Coop and Kareem win rings with the Lakers. Hell, I even stuck with them through the bad years... Vlade, Elden, Ceballos, Threat, Peeler, Eddie, Van Exel. hell, I even liked them when they had Kobe & the 4 all-star team (in his early career, until they traded Eddie Jones to make room for Kobe). somewhere around 2000 when Kobe & Shaq started getting all cocky & egotistical (both have been kind of that way already, but it grew worse). It pushed me into liking the talented Blazers in 2000, and later I became a [bigger] fan of the great Kings teams of 2000-2003. I was forced to like em in 2004, but it's a shame Malone had to get hurt and a shame Shaq couldn't figure out how to step out on a pick. I have never been a huge fan of Kobe, especially with him refusing to re-sign unless Shaq & Phil were gone... that's what made me become a bonafide Kobe hater. and then douchebags like Sasha (who can't play defense without reaching slapping and fouling), Cook, Kwame, and Mihm made me hate the Lakers even more.

oh and the CLips team that almost made the playoffs a while back had Brand, Odom, Miles, QRich, and Maggette. Damn I miss their Chicago head tap...

Yeah, did work out for GP... I still consider him the Kidd's equal in the 90s at the PG position and those two are second to Stockton. What do you think? I think GP was a superior defender to the two of them and a far better scorer than them too...

And about Mihm, I don't mind him. He's not garbage... he can at least hold his own on offence I guess, got some post moves... just doesn't do it on the road...

Good to hear you grew up a Lakers fan! The Blazers were pretty much a good team to like in 2000, they had it in them to win I guess until the Lakers and that fourth quarter got in the way... Sabonis was awesome :D And I wasn't following the NBA then but was Pippen leading the Blazers hyped up then? And you liked the Kings, pretty ironic cause you were pushed away from supporting LA cause of the egos of Shaq and Kobe... And I agree that those two have pretty big egos.

It's cool you're not a big fan of Kobe, he's not everyone's cup of tea. Just hope it doesn't get you to hate me too. Sasha is a bit of a douchebag for complaining to refs as if he is a star player  I don't mind Cook, Kwame or Mihm... so yeah, I must be the opposite to you

No he was playing team ball...if you expect more passing for him, you probably forgot he's a scorer and not a jason kidd type of player.
If healthy again, i expect him to play like he did yesterday with a little more shots. (20-22 fga)

The lakers look great so far!

Sun Nov 05, 2006 6:32 am

Ugh, Kobe is slooooow. Are we sure he didn't have a microfracture surgery?

Turiaf looks great, though. He's slowly becoming one of my favourite players. 6'9 of all heart and hustle.

Sun Nov 05, 2006 7:52 am

lol.... i kinda miss kobe averaging 30ppg.... :D but i kinda wanna see kobe morph into a mini jordan, an all around player who controls both ends of the floor....

Holy shit, that's the head tap??? Man... I payed out some NBL player doing it in a game... we were like 'wtf are you doing? go home!' and he kept doing it everytime he scored and i just kept yelling, 'you're team mates can't give you a high five even if you put ur hands above your head, you're too short!' and stuff like that... our team ended up losing though and the dude did that head tap to me at the end of the game then pointed at me then the scoreboard...

Sun Nov 05, 2006 12:34 pm

Well in that case, you got owned.

Sun Nov 05, 2006 1:39 pm

Yes, yes I did.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 2:48 pm

Sonics went crazy in middle two quarters, took care of it in the 3rd basically... ah well... Good that the bench got garbage time... Farmar went crazy in his 6 minutes... 14 points...

Ray Ray killed us with 32 and Rahard Lewis sank 6 three pointers...

Anyways, we had to lose sometime... I'm looking forward to a win against Minny. :D

NBA.com says Farmar played 18mins, but still, that doesnt take away from the fact that he played great. 2nd highest scorer on the team.

Hopefully the drop from Odom doesnt bear any resembalance(sp?) to the rest of the season.

Ok, must have looked at someone else by accident... still looked at the play by play I saw Farmar's name there a bit... so I think he must have gone crazy. The Lakers got more than 10 for a number of players

Resemblance

And as I said in the other thread, I hope Odom doesn't stop attacking anymore... he was doing an awesome job.

Mon Nov 06, 2006 3:18 pm

Damn, thought Lakers could make at least a 5-0 streak...
Oh well, at least we have 3 wins in a row, and we can see Kobe dishing out balls...

Mon Nov 06, 2006 3:20 pm

it's we had three wins in a row. I was thinknig we would have beaten the Sonics again and beat the Wolves but it's cool. But mark my words, I think we could be in a really good position in 20 games time but I'm a lil worried about after All-Star break. Lots of away games down the stretch... I have faith in us winning the Pac title... and a 3rd seed.
