This patch consists of a modified staff.dbf file that can be used to replace the generated staff names in any Dynasty Mode game with the names of real NBA team staff with their own ratings. Please note that it will overwrite all selections made by the user and CPU teams during the Staff Signing period in Dynasty Mode.
To install, simply copy to a Dynasty already in progress. Please note that any existing messages in the PDA will still use the original generated names. The changes will be reflected when you view the staff list or get any new messages.
The patch shouldn't cause any problems but as always I'd recommend making a backup of your Dynasty should something go wrong.
How you can help out with this patch
Version 1 adds real names for all staff members on each NBA team. However, there is still much work that can go into this patch.
First and foremost, I have not been able to properly assign ratings to all staff members because I'm not familiar with all the assistant coaches and trainers. At present all trainers have a B grade across the board while most other staff members have all C grades with a couple of B grades. Any input on staff members would be greatly appreciated as I'm keen to improve the ratings, including those who have already been given their own grades.
Second, the assignments are open to change. For the most part I've given more prominent assistant coaches such as Del Harris and PJ Carlesimo Assistant roles even though the title of Assistant Head Coach would seem more fitting for their place in the coaching hierachy on their respective teams, since the Assistant role allows them to affect player training. Likewise, I've given one of the assistants on each team the role of Scout in the game.
I've done this to ensure that all staff members have a real name, corrections are certainly welcome. I'm sure some staff members can be swapped around or replaced entirely. Speaking of which, I'm planning on adding other real people to the staff free agency pool as well as second Assistant coaches for as many teams as possible. Some teams already have a second Assistant.
The final elements that are likely to be revised in subsequent updates are salary and contract length. For the moment all staff members are signed to 3 year deals of $200,000. This has been done so that everything will work under budget, it's something I will be revising so staff with better grades will be more expensive, Assistant Head Coaches demand higher deals etc. Any input there is of course welcome.
And of course, anything else you can think of that could improve the update.
