Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

I remember a time were a guy called TIM at NLSC got invited to work at EA.
I was one of those who got excited and thinking what a hell of a basketball game EA would do with someone of us (fans / gamers / suporters) working directly with them.
That entusiasm was son colled down with the concletalion of Live 2002 for PC. But i belived it was for the best. Tim was there. He actualy bothers sending a letter to NLSC fans explaining why not Live 2002 for PC.
Than, the game looked diferent in 2003 and 2004, and I was wondering if TIM was doing something, But when I played Live 2006 I had this felling that after all those years, all those mistakes, they finaly listen to TIM, that was, and still is a good game, with it's flaws but a good game. When they told that PC game would be current generations I think it was good, they will improve Live 06, they will develop nex gen and in one or two years we get it done.
It sound like a good plan. I even think that is TIM doing his thing again.
Them I played Live 07. And i have only one thing to say. If TIM has any respect, has anything of him left, he should quit. It's bether don't have a job than sell himself cheap.
EA has no respect for us, not a little bit. I would prefer to cancel Live 07 than destroy a game like they did with Live. I have all Live games. Even those before PC (95, ...) and none, none of them is so un-fun, un-playable, un-done, un-respectable, than Live 07.
That can mean only one thing: TIM is sold, NLSC is sold (they played that game "a few hours" and didn't saw the @#$??????) I ask to anyone here: who didn't saw a PG dominance, the fact that there's no way to stop CPU players, the non sub bug in the first quarter of play??????????????
So few hours are more than enogh to say that this was a @#$ game!
So TIM you got it, you Kill NBA LIVE and NLSC.
I hope the fans (us) that left can find other game and other site to have fun with.
BABOLHOS (sorry for the poor english)

With this outburst, I think you're going to be spending a lot of time playing with yourself, rather than any other game.

Your post don't make that much sense considering that your beef with EA seems is about Current Gen. Tim is a Next Gen producer. He has nothing to do with it...

It seems nobody at EA "has anything to do with it" or took any responsibility to make NBA Live 07 even a decent game. That's the problem. In regard to the NBA Live series, EA's only concern was keeping the money train rolling.
Their focus was on marketing features, such as ESPN ticker which really adds nothing to the game. If someone wants to hear news, turn on the radio while playing. Time could have been spent on game features. But it becomes a selling point. Superstar moves are animations, and selling points. The PC game was sold, in part, on signature shots which weren't even in the game.
Little time was spent on the actual game. Little time was spent on fixing things like the behind the back board shot, like PG dominance, and even on new bugs such as the CPU sub problem. Terrific, the assistant coach scheduling practice days was added, but maybe better game play was more important, or at least decent game play.
EA is great at icing, or in the case of signature shots claiming icing where there is none. But they forgot to bake the cake.

My enthsiasm was son colled down with the concletalion of my understanding of whatever the hell you're trying to blame on Tim & Andrew... personally, I'm getting sick of these people blaming everything on Tim just because EA Canada keeps fucking up. They keep implying that Tim, Andrew, the mods of the NLSC are all corrupt and taking money from EA when they don't even begin to understand the situation. I'm personally offended.

concurred. everything bad about the game is always Tims fault, but when there's a really good part, he's never mentioned.
Wed Oct 04, 2006 3:25 am
i don't know about tim
but he's right
espn radio and ticker - what use does it have for gameplay?
fss only f* up the game, it's for teenagers
little time was spent on the actual gameplay or at least testing of the gameplay
and noone at EA really has anything to do with it

Tim is one of the heads of a team and he should get some blame for the travesty that is live 07 current gen and next gen...but not ALL the blame. The emphasis on team means that it's the entire EA sports devision's fault as a whole. To that end...i think you're being a little unfair.

Agreed, I wouldnt single out one individual because pointing fingers never solves anything.
When you start the game it states "E A Sports. Its in the game." At least I think thats what they say. I never heard "EA Sport current gen ver, div. 24, sector 14 room 546, emp#56753. Its in the game." They presented the game as a group and as a group they failed to live up to the expectations they built (Tim included no matter how cool a guy he is considering how welcoming he was to Andrew.).

I'll tell you what, dude.
This is basically why TIM wouldn't wanna post here.

So, who's the head guy of current gen? There has to be a position where a guy is responsible for the final output of the game, to make sure it's "bug free." Who is that guy, or who are those guys?
Edit: Brian Ullrich?

I doubt that Tim is still the senior level next gen producer after the last 2 years' games. Actually, didn't I see something about Brent Nielsen on one of the videos? He's the guy that turned Triple Play into MVP, so if he's the captain of the ship, there's still some hope.
I think people should blame EA as a whole, not just the dev team. EA sets the deadlines, EA comes up with the feature list (marketing plus producers on that one), and EA determines the amount of $$$ spent on the game. It starts and ends with people way above the dev team.

I've worked in the gaming industry and seen many come and go from developers, designers and systems/networks folk.
What separates some of the better folks are people who can at least come out of the shadows and deal with harsh criticism. It doesn't always fix everything, but it makes it look like you actually give a shit.
Now, I'm not saying that Tim is solely responsible for the production of all of the woes we're experiencing with NBA Live 2007. What I'm saying is, the silence policy or the 'poor me' bullshit is a load of crap.
There is something called acquiescence, and that's fairly much what is going on here. Nobody would post here, because what would they have to say? I think the customer service quotes are generally spot-on as to what anyone would have to say, short of outright fucking lying to everyone again about the product or future products.
In terms of 'gaming skin', these EA folks have incredibly thin ones and this community is incredibly more forgiving than lots of other games. Also, if these folks are so hurt by the criticism then they must take it personally. However, the finished product certainly didn't convey a level of personal that would be justified with being hurt about doing a pisspoor job.
Meh.
