Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

I just don't get it..
How can a huge company like EA release a game with so many bugs which make it virtually unplayable. I mean.. we all know that all the previous games had douzines of bugs but they werent THAT serious. How can you play a basketball game when the opponent doesn't make any subs and and your players dont fatigue normally? These are basic stuff that affect the actual game of "basketball". Without these whats the point in playing a single player game (Im not even talking about dynasty) ? None.
It's 100% certain that a game like NBA LIVE 07 is tested hundreds of times before being released. There's no doubt that EA was aware of these bugs. So whats the real reason behind this? Is it an attempt to decrease piracy? For example, if EA releases a patch in one week correcting all this, immediately everyone is forced to buy the original game in order to play. No use to have a copy with no subs.
Is it because EA is closing down anyway so they didn't even care to finish it properly? Is it just plain stupidity and irresponsibility? I dont get it.. This ridicule can only decrease their sales.
I am watching so many guys here including me, trying to find a solution on their own. We re becoming amateur programmers and editors, experimenting with old files from previous versions. And this is great, it shows our love for the game, but I cant help to feel like a fool for doing this, when EA could simply release a f* patch in a couple of days and end all this.
Anyway, this is not a thread to complainabout bugs, I am just contemplating on the WHY is this game played behind our backs.
Peace
Stavros

because maybe EA is a joke and their dont give a shit about what you think. EA should close down after this shit job.

They are putting the least amount of money into their resources while people just see the "EA" tag on the shelves and buy it.
Maybe when 2K finally take over the sales it will force EA into putting more money into the development of their games (or maybe just the recruitment of their personnel) and they will come up with a better game.
Bottom line is even though NBA Live has been a terrible game for years now people keep buying it so why should EA change anything?
They get their money and thats all that matters to them.

I talked to my friend a little bit ago, who's brother works for ea in california, he really couldn't say much, but he did say there has been talk there that 07 series possibly will be the last on pc, so if thats true then i guess we will get no patch at all , my guess is that maybe because of all the derrogatory posts they just decided hell with pc were done, i hope thats not the case i hope they continue to put out games and give us a patch, but i'm afaid this might be last live we see on pc, I think they are gonna go exclusive next generation, but like i said i hope this is all just speculation, otherwise it will just be this and older games to play, unless you wanna spend 4 to 5 hundred bucks for a console. I will keep everyone informed if i hear anymore.

I've heard by various sources that EA is closing down and this IS the last Live. Maybe thats the only reason. Lets just 2K is published for PC.

I heard EA owner wants to close up because he feels his effort in the live series is not well appreciated

. Come on, EA wont close in the near future unless they start losing money which is not the case.

Were all kinda upset about EA. But creating pointless threads wont help us with our problems.
Live has a very good gameplay and lets just hope that they can patch the bugs and everybody will be happy.

Not just EA. Big company like Square, Konami, Capcom, got bugs in their game too.

I fully imagine if these companies have large sites such as NLSC dedicated to one of their games, they would receive the same sort of reaction to their bugged out games.

This is not pointless. We have to make our voice heard instead of saying "everyrhing is ok, these bugs dont matter". I dont mean immature complaining by that.. I mean serious conversation. This is our money we re talking about, even if they release a patch, our money are already considered "stolen" coz this is not basketball we re playing.

I think in the 10 years of NBA Live releases this is an all time low for EA Sports. This series went downhill last year when they added the rediculous superstar moves, and turned this game into a three ring circus. Granted some people like it, but now they've made it even more of a spectacle adding 3 separate shooting buttons. This game just isn't fun anymore, it's downright annoying and I feel bad for people who keep getting hyped up year after year only to be let down. This game is just downright atrocious and I'm not playing it anymore. I now know that EA Sports just doesn't care anymore about the NBA Live series, and that the 2k series has had their number the last few years. Why they continue to try to make this game like NBA Jam I will never know. To top it off the glitches make me so mad, I just want to punch the guy in the face who decided to ruin NBA Live by adding this useless crap year after year. I think we need to take a hard look at what has happened to NBA Live, and maybe consider writing EA Sports a letter, because I am so fed up with this shit.

In all honesty, I think it's pretty funny when game companies get all hurt when the ever-growing gamer community calls them on a poorly released game. To add insult to injury though, EA is such a large publisher that they can afford to say 'buy next years game' instead of doing what nearly every game company does -- release patches.
As PC gamers we've gotten used to frequent patches, which is sort of outrageous in some cases because it means we've bought something that isn't finished. The time-to-market on publishing games and the quality of the developers has become worse and worse, so that huge publishers like EA can rake in cash off a myriad of titles and have several that are completely useless as products ( almost not unlike Hollywood and the production of movies ).
If I didn't know better, I would say that it'd be interesting to get the NBA involved in doing quality control. On one hand you have the NBA, which is incredibly sensitive to controlling its image. On the other hand you have the NBA, which is probably even worse than EA in terms of trying to rake in cash.
It'd be a toss-up, but I think it would be nifty if companies like EA were held to a higher standard because the NBA's assets were being put into a product and sold worldwide. At the extreme end of the stick, they'd lose their right to release the product and or future development rights.

The thing you have to realize is that EA is a game publishing company. This means that they rely on certain production resources for every title they're involved in publishing. Whether it is EA Sports, the NBA Live team or even more specifically the people/resources for NBA Live for the PC, etc.
In some cases, resources for a game are strictly marketing -- getting a game studio's "EA branded" title on the shelves of EA's partners.
So when someone comments on this steaming pile of shit being the last release of NBA Live for the PC because they're closing-up shop in lieu of negative reception, it could mean:
* No more resources for NBA Live for the PC -- resources shifted around to remaining platforms for NBA Live or other titles entirely.
* No more NBA Live for any platform ( doubtful ).
EA is a monstrous company with many shareholders. They are not closing up shop, but it's entirely possible they're moving in other directions.

They can move right to hell.

Profit. Profit. Profit.
They like to make their programmers work 90hrs/week. They like to hire less workers, but "high expectations."

Hypothetically speaking, let's say this is the last Live we get on PC. I guess that means we're forced to buy console based games. Does that mean we'll buy Live for consoles since we don't have a PC game? Nope! There's the 2K series that we can opt for instead of EA.

EA's not closing down. They practically run the video game market.
Unfortunately though, i don't think they see a future in the PC market. It appears they are consentrating solely on next gen consoles (for sports games anyway).
This year Live got the shaft for current gen. You can thank the XBOX 360 for that one. So did NHL, so did Madden... and probably Fifa too.
They made a business decision to divert resources to the XBOX 360 version leaving nothing for current gen. The results are what you see on the screen when you play Live 07. They gambled and lost big time. XBOX 360 version sucks and so does current gen.
Us complaining isn't going to make a difference. The only time they'll learn from this is when they see the monthly sales reports.

Man next time they put someone on the cover of NBA LIVE, they shouldn't put any Houston Rockets players on it...Remember when Stevie Francis was the cover boy? The game wasn't even made for PC cause it was so crappy! But seriously... 2K sports should start making the game available for the PC, i would definitely have gotten the 2K product but sadly we are only confined to EA Sports..
