Glen's patching thread

Postby Glen on Tue Oct 03, 2006 1:03 am

hey guys whassup, 07 is out and im personally happy with the legends roster that they have in this year's live... what i don't like though is how inaccurate some of them are, so i'm up for the task again to give them justice... too bad that i still don't have enough time to make as many as i did in 06 (it can still be converted for those who still want it  ) i can only make three m.l.a. packs this time around and it is as follows...

1.) m.l.a. 07 pack 1

what to expect from the missing legends addon pack 1:

- all player cyberfaces from the 90's legends plus hakeem olajuwon has been updated too look like how they played in their early years (face, facial hair, hairsytle, and skin tone)

- players like o'neal, richmond, payton, and tim hardaway has different hairstyles included (buzzcut, stubble, and bald respectively... which will be benificial for those who will make historic/classic mods)

- players like anfernee hardaway, olajuwon, robinson, and malone will have their custom accessories included... no .dbf editing required ("penny" elbowband, "mailman 32" longer wristbands, etc.)

- all player portraits from the 90's legends has been updated to look like their early years as well

- will not overwrite their older counterpart's cyberface and portraits (a little bit of .dbf editing here)

DOWNLOAD HERE

2.) m.l.a. 07 pack 2 - i'd personally like to call it the "real 90's all stars" and others... most of them has been done from high resolution pics unlike in 06... get it at page two of this thread...

3.) m.l.a. 07 pack 3 - adds the 1992 u.s.a. basketball olympic team (a collaboration mod with notorious b.a.y.a.g., and dragon) get it at page three of this thread...

all the packs have player alpha channels so their faces won't be too shiny when lighting is enabled...

You've got to think about turning on Lighting if you can enable it. 07 looks like 99 without this setting.

nice job. good to see you back.

your title reminds me of that mission in San Andreas where they bust through the billboard that says "A Taste of Things to Come" and it becomes "A Taste of Come" or something.

i could turn it on man, but with lighting on you can't really see much detail in the player's face with all the shine and lighting going on... examples of downsides with lighting on is that you can't distinguish if the skin tone is blended well, if sharpening is overused, etc... so personally i think as far as previews for a patch is concerned, no lighting is the way to go...

like in 06 man, i'll grant permission for other patchers that will be making historic mods... as i always say, anything to help the community... 8-)

haha, g.t.a.s.a. is one of my favorite games but the title of my thread and the mission in s.a. is purely coincidental... :shifty:

and to all the others, thanks guys... (Y)

i would like to do it but i said in my 1st post i don't have enough time in my hands unlike before, you could still use all my m.l.a. patches from 06 to 07 (including the 96 bulls of course ) or wait for notorious B.A.Y.A.G.'s classic teams 07 (which i personally think would be awesome again (Y))

and for the others thanks for the warm reception... (Y)

Very Good (Y) only Karl kinda reminds me of Kevin Willis. Also could you change his wrist bands? The ones they gave him are to big but the regular wrist bands in the game that you can choose in edit player are to small.

it's an irony that the criticisms i got are because of ea's default headshapes (karl's headshape-07, latrell's headshape-06) thanks anyways for the heads up guys, appreciate it (Y), i'm not sure though if i can do anything about it, because headshapes can't still be edited up to now :(... and about the bands, custom bands for the legends will be included in the final release... so yes malone will have his mailman wristbands
