PSP NBA Live

Just wondering what you guys know about the psp version of live. Is it gonna be crap like last year or is it actually decent? My main concern is the dynasty mode since thats really all I do in Live.

From what I've heard it will have everything that current gen dynasty mode has. I'm guessing gameplay will suck though, not enough buttons on the PSP for this game with all the FSS crap.

Actually they improved the PSP version alot they added team chemistry to the Dynasty mode and graphic wise they lightened it a lot.

I'm not a PSP player as I've never been a huge fan of handheld consoles (and thus have never owned one) but I have to admit I was impressed with the PSP version when I played it. It plays pretty much the same as the Current Gen version and the extra mini-games are a nice touch. I wouldn't mind seeing them ported to the CG or NG versions as something to play when you've got a couple of minutes to kill.

I am also thinking of getting it for my PSP too but I wonder, without the right analog thing, how are we going to pull all those moves, let alone those FSS moves?

FSS moves can be performed by the regular action buttons similar to NBA Live 06. You can do that in CG and NG as well though using the right analog stick forces the specific move you want to pull off. When you hold the trigger and press one of the action buttons (shoot, pass, etc), the game will select what it thinks is the most appropriate FSS move for the situation.

I'm not sure to be honest, I only played the PSP version for about five minutes and played pretty badly as well, since it was the first time I'd actually played a PSP so I was unfamiliar with the controls.

its hard to do fss moves on the psp, right?
your fingers have to be elastic when you like to use the right analog stick and the left analog stick at the same time (i ask this because i may buy a psp)

Right now I'm just waiting for the reviews to come out. My main debate is whether I buy it for Xbox or PSP. I'll be able to play it online with PSP when I won't with Xbox since I don't have XBL and I like the idea of having it wherever I go. But I know that the Xbox version will play a lot better. I've heard they've upped the Dynasty mode this year and if the Xbox Dynasty is the same as the PSP version then I might get it for PSP. Also, making my decison more difficult is NBA 2K7, which I've been considering buying. The fact is though, that for now, I'll only be able to buy one.

Dynasty Mode is essentially the same, I can't remember anyone mentioning any missing features on the PSP version.

A portable sim dynasty would be the greatest thing ever. I love simming dynastys, and if I had a PSP, i'd walk around simming dynastys all day lol.

no theres only a LEFT analog stick. Freestyle dribbling moves is used with the square button, when you tap it twice (or something liek that) you spin, and theres diffrent variations with the turbo button also. Afew problems with dynasty mode that I saw while playing for like 20 min was that you could only scout players with 1 scout. I had hired 2 scouts, and i press switch scout, and then X to go to the next screen to scout players, but it goes back to my first scout, and therefore I can never use my second scout. Then of course theres the sub problem. And horrible absolutely horrible load times, alot worse than Maddens.

live 07 on psp will be pretty much the same as 06. live on psp is more arcade-ish. i agree also with dynasty being the best part of 07 on psp to look forward to and being more worthwhile to play.

does the psp version have the fatigue, subs and other major bugs? i read the ign review but can't remember if they mentioned it.

damn they should bring live but preferably 2k to nintendo ds. i reckon its capable of handling it and as always the developer better do a good job of making it. using the stylus for plays would be awesome.

i was very pleased when i started the game fot the first time...
it has the customizable soundtrack and, finally, the dinasty
but the gameplay is simply ridicolous, the cpu never substitues and there isn't any fatigue bar for the players.. i don't understand why, but i only have to say DON'T BUY THIS GAME! (i'll sell it asap)

Well Im currently trying the psp version out now,
playing with the dynasty and game intervention is available, so I intervent after the 3rd quarter of every game because of the auto sub bug. reliving the draft was disabled though, or maybe I missed it somewhere. I have seen CPU players doing some triple threat moves and freestyle dribble like taking a step back but I dunno how to, it would be nice if anyone can help.

Freestyle dribbling is done with ▐square▐ button, and I forget how to do triple threat, should be in the in game manual though. Gameplay got boring on this game and i havne tplayed it since.

Ahh, the game was originally owned by my friend so I'm not getting the game manual. Without Jab steps and triple threat moves the gameplay sucks even more. The mini games are some very nice touch tho.
Yet I found another bug- CPU team not responding to trade offer. I was playing as the Blazers in dynasty mode and I offered Jack and Dickau for TJ Ford, yet no matter how long I wait or how many times I tried the CPU team simply ignore it. But it does reply when trading some other players. Thats weird.

I do remember the trading working, maybe just with certain players or certain teams, or maybe you pressed the wrong button and never actualy sent the offer.

No, I didnt press the wrong botton and I tried numerous times to see if it was something I got it wrong.
I can live with it though, as long as it's just a occasional problem and happens only on a player like TJ Ford :p
I would be pissed if I got the chance to get any superstar and the CPU completely ignore it.

Has anyone figured out how to do triple threat moves in the game yet? I know the computer uses them so I imagine that the user should be able to as well. It's not explained in the manual so I'm wondering if anyone has figured it out yet?
