the PC version is current gen, and if i read correctly it's gonna keep beeing current gen till the older console versions are less popular than their next gen counterparts.

great article man you really put alot of depth into the article and really you answered every question i had about the upcoming live, but i have just 2 questions.

1. can you describe the camera angle of the next gen version in more detail i relize you said it kind of resembled 2005's but i never played 05.
2. are there different camera options, and if so how many

Great answers Andrew. But based on some of the answers I have another question:

You answered someone that the back down control is the same as last year (pulling down on the right analog stick). But how can that co-exist with the FSS trigger (which works with the same stick) and switching between FSS types? Let's say I'm playing with the Spurs and backing down some PF with Timmy D now when I start my back down his FSS is Power but I want to switch to Inside Scorer, how is that possible? And also if you're allways pulling down the left analog stick while backing down then pressing the FSS trigger would allways result in the same FSS move... As you can tell I'm a bit puzzled over this :?:
And now for something completely different....

thanks for the answers andrew much appreciated. ive just got a couple to throw your way if i could.

- do tips out of bounds still count as turnovers?
- do tip rebounds count as misses if the the first misses and the second one goes in?
- is it possible to dive on loose ball this year (last year the computer would always beat you).
- 2 player practice?

thanks mate

Well it seems after Andrew's review and answering some questions (which was great, by the way), that NBA Live 07 IS going to be the greatest basketball game ever. And with some slider tweaking to suit everyone's gameplay, it's just going to rock.

I don't want to be overconfident but I have every reason to, as suggested by this topic. Time for a dual analog controller has come.

Dear Andrew ,

2 more questions :

1. Is it the Camera (On PC Platform) PRESS BOX in the game? and can you play with that camera in practice,5on5,1on1?
2. Is their is some new gamemode? (2on2 , 3on3 , maybe some streetball tournament, practice with 2 players)

Someone is mad because if you want Backdown you want to use right analog stick , well if you are a big fan of nba live buy a joystick (Logitech Dual Action) i think the best joystick on PC

Great stuff Andrew (y) After seeing some game play videos and reading some reviews, I wasn't very convinced about the game, but your review got me all hyped up about it. (y)
And kudos to EA for arranging this entire thing. It's much appreciated. And I hope they found it to be a good one and that they'll consider having similar events in the future.

He already adressed that:
Andrew wrote:I'm talking about two different things there. To switch abilities, you hold the FSS trigger and press the right analog stick button (R3 on the PS2). To back down, you hold the right analog stick down (pull back on the stick) the same as last year.

Ehm, I know he did but read my entire post and you'll see that I want to know how it's possible to back down someone (holding the right analog stick down) and switch to an ability without pulling of a move. When I go over it in my mind as soon as you press the FSS trigger while backing down you'd automatically pull off which ever FSS move corresponds to pulling down on the stick
And now for something completely different....

Hmm, well from what I've gathered is that you switch FSS abilities by pushing the right analog stick button only. The superstar trigger (which isn't the right analog stick button) is only involved when you want to make a FSS move. So the trigger isn't involved in switching FSS abilities, so there's no risk of pulling off a move when trying to do something else. Might have gotten it wrong tho..

FSS move = FSS trigger + Right analog stick in any direction
FSS switch = Right analog stick button
Back down = Right analog stick direction down

Andrew, I got some questions for you. (Current-gen questions)

1. Are there more/different plays in the game?

2. Can you save a team's playbook after you have alter their default plays?

3. Is there more/different sliders in the Gameplay Settings Interface?

4. Are the box scores still there? If they are, are they in Dynasty Mode still and maybe the All-Star and Rookie game this time?

Yeah, I've gathered as much as well. But, okay, lets say that you're backing down an opponent and you want to do some kind of FSS move during the back down, then the moment you press down the trigger while backing down your man you'd only be able to do one shot/dunk/whatever - namely FSS trigger + Right analog stick down. That's how I picture it in theory and I don't understand how the back down control can still be on the right analog stick. I want to know how this works in real life

This question open to anyone (in case it was already answered somewhere):

Did they change it so that on freethrows, the CPU will do autosubs between the throws, instead of only after the second one is made?

Within three posts you and Jae managed to completely detract the conversation, and it was actualy a good topic. You guys should be hailed as gods. (Or even more that Jaesus is now)

And to answer you Cameron, it matters if later it will be tomorrow.
