Yes, I believe there is a hands-on preview.
Mon Jul 17, 2006 10:47 pm
does EA give you are free copy of the game when it comes out?
Tue Jul 18, 2006 10:49 am
I'm not sure if they intend to but I certainly wouldn't turn it down.

Congrats Andrew!! If there's one guy that should go its you. Ask as many Dynasty questions as possible. MLE, negotiation of free agents, hire/fire coaches, trade block...etc. Hope you have fun in the great country of Canada. When in Aug. will you be going??? Is it in Vancouver, British Columbia??? If it is its beautiful out there!!! I think the most beautiful area in Canada. Have fun. You the MAN.

Congratulations Andrew, you deserve it. Tell Tim I said hi. Anyways, could you also ask them why they are not releasing it for GameCube? Thanks. Have a nice trip.

It's in Burnaby, I should be heading over around about the 9th with the event being held on the 10th.

I could try, but history suggests they won't be able to give me an answer on that one. We had to draw our own conclusions when NBA Live 2002 was a console only release.

Cool. Burnaby is in Vancouver BC. Enjoy the scenery because its beautiful there. You'll see a lot of mountains, hilly landscapes and if you have time to travel around, semi-desert and desert areas. Just hope it doesn't rain, because it rains a lot there. Look forward to your report when you get back. See if you can also find out about those computer generated rookies that always come out as 6'1 180 lbs sg. and 7'1 270 sf. to see if they changed that problem.

I don't think I'll get much of a chance to do any a lot of sight-seeing since I'm only there a few days for the conference but I hope I'll get to see a bit of the city as well. As far as the conference goes, rest assured I'll be trying to find out as much as possible especially when it comes the issues we've been bothered by for a while now.

Everyone always says it rains in the Northwest, which isnt true, it gets very hot and dry in the summer. It's been in the 90's all weekend. It only rains when somebody is visiting...

Hey guys whats up. I was part of the team that did this a few years ago. It's a great experience. You do get to demo the new game for a couple hours and you do get a tour of the facility.
When we went they did not allow any cameras, not even camera phones, they have pretty high security at the place. You do get to meet the production staff and give input and they ask for any ways to improve the game in the future.
They did give us a couple of free EA games, and later sent us live a little before it came out.
I have sent andrew some suggested questions, which i'm sure he had already thought of. Just take a note pad...its the best you'll be able to do!!
have fun.

Thanks ratman, appreciate the suggestions and the info. Looks like we might be able to take cameras this time but we'll have to ask before taking any photos and/or recordings. I will double check that though.
Sat Jul 29, 2006 11:54 am
it would be brillaint if someone had like one of those camera pens.
too bad they have such high security.
Sat Jul 29, 2006 1:15 pm
you'd never be asked back though... lol
Wed Aug 02, 2006 4:32 pm
Shit, they should let me come. It's a 45 minute drive for me.
Seriously though, if you want any Vancouver tips or whatever go ahead and ask me. Even though I live here I still love doing some of the "tourist" things since it's such a beautiful city.
Are they picking up the tab for accommodation/flights, or is that on you?
Thu Aug 03, 2006 12:12 pm
Yep, it's all expenses paid except for any meals they're not covering, snacks, gift shopping, etc.

I can't believe what I'm reading! The last couple of posts are ridiculous. You got to read the entire thread. HtownBallaADL: In your case, very carefully.
Sat Aug 05, 2006 4:59 pm
I'm now flying out on the 8th (this Tuesday). The event itself is on the 11th.
Sun Aug 06, 2006 1:02 am
