I sometimes post there. I usually lurk and read the inside info of those so called "insiders"

I rarely go to LG, usually, only when someone on CL links to it because of a certain poster giving inside info in LG.

Why wouldn't they have their first round pick?

B. tank the whole season giving the ball to Kobe every possession allowing him to score 40 ppg thereby getting the number 1 pick of the 2007 draft so they can draft Greg Oden!!!

Are you nuts? Kobe's a winner, Jackson is a winner. Buss is a moron...eh, winner (type), they won't just tank the season. This isn't the Cavaliers we're talking about here.

I think the Spurs are the more legit option to tank the whole season, especially if we look at their history of getting heralded big men in the draft. I wouldn't be suprised to see Duncan going down for the whole season and Parker/Ginobili having mysterious injures all the time. But I agree with you - Bryant and Jackson cannot afford not to make the playoffs.

I have heard about people wanting their fav team to tank on numorous sites, just a few min a go some guy wanted the raps to tank next season to get Oden.

Any team with any respect for themselves and the fans would never even think of tanking. The Lakers, especially, with their legendary history and huge fan base, one of the largest markets in the sporting world, cannot afford to tank a season. They would lose not only money, but fan's repect. Tanking the season is simply a disgrace to professional sports.

As Jackal said, Kobe and Jackson are winners. Even if the organization wanted to tank, Kobe and Jackson would refuse to do it.

Getting Greg Oden would be great guys but I don't think this will ever happen having Kobe and specially Phil Jackson on the same team. They're winners by nature and tanking the whole season would be a disgrace to their fans and community. I mean Oden is good but he ain't a God and we don't know how good he will be once he enters the Nba.

Oden's overrated anyways, and who needs him when you have someone named Kwame Brown... alright, alright... Andrew Bynum?

i mean this is the best and most supported team in this place right?

sooo my thinking for next season for the lakers is to either

A. try hard to win every game and get to the finals. (like every other team)

or

B. tank the whole season giving the ball to Kobe every possession allowing him to score 40 ppg thereby getting the number 1 pick of the 2007 draft so they can draft Greg Oden!!!

plan B is pretty great huh!

wait.... Lakers still have their first round pick for 2007 dont they?

TANKING?! you would see kobe and phil wanting out right away if the plan was to tank the season

lol... i expect at least a second round exit for the lakers next year.... the players have had a whole season and a full summer to integrate into the triangle and hopefully kwame and bynum develop into more complete players.... they were so close to upsetting the suns in the first round.... a little more experience would have help so i wouldn't mind them going after a veteran that actually plays (unlike mckie)
PPL r a little feisty these days:D

to make the playoffs, kobe has to play the way he played against the Suns..it really helped the other's confidence

I think Radmanovic is too slow or not atheletic enough to play 3... Switch with Odom?

It should be a possible goal. It seems realistic enough for me. I mean they did push "MVP" Nash and the top seeded Suns to 7 games with a bunch of mediocre players & quite a horrible and seemingly moronic player in Brown. (Yes, I have absolutely no faith in him. I was rooting for him, but he's just horrible.)

This year Bryant will win the MVP award. He can't get robbed back to back.

I somehow don't have any faith in this roster. Kobe is coming off a knee surgery, Bynum isn't ready to contribute and seriously - would you go to war with any of those guys? Kwame? Kobe? Odom? Radmanovic? I'd take only Vujacic, Turiaf and Farmar and it's not like those guys are going to be anything more than role players with little to no minutes played.

Did you have faith in last years roster? At the beginning of the season no one did.

Brown
Odom
Walton/George
Bryant
And..Parker? People were rolling on the floor with laughter.

Now Turiaf is back and he's shown he's a good hustle player and has heart. One thing is the Lakers always have had guys with heart. Madsen, although he stunk, the guy had heart. Walton isn't the most skilled player ever, but he plays hard.

Anyways, I'm feeling positive going into this season. My anger and frustration with Buss & Kupchak is dwindeling and add to that the fact that O'Neal got his fourth ring.

My fingers are crossed for a good season. The only player I don't like right now on the Lakers is Brown.

Mihm has always done a good job when he's on the court. As long as he can stay out of foul trouble, Lakers will be happy. He had a hard time staying out of trouble and some unfortunate injuries that kept him out many games last season. But with Bynum developing, Mihm may see less and less minutes. He'll still be the 2nd or even 1st choice at the C position.

What's going on with laker's PG position? Is Parker and Farmer gonna be enought? I think the lakers need to spend all the exceptions and wait til Brain Grant's contract expires. Then they can sign some real FAs. That's a few years away though.

but about brown,
he jus needs to learn how to score in the post
and defend...

No, that's not all.

Brown seems lost when he's asked to catch a ball. Seriously, how many frigging times did he miss seemingly the easiest shots in the world? Either he fumbled the pass or he just couldn't get the ball in the hole.

He doesn't move well on the court, as I said, he usually looks confused and lost. If you can't learn from Phil Jackson, you can not learn.
