Sun Jul 23, 2006 11:57 pm
since he became a superstar
Mon Jul 24, 2006 12:02 am
of course, that makes him clutch
Mon Jul 24, 2006 12:08 am
no, but makes everyone think he is

agreed. but since anthony isnt on there i voted for kobe

Kobe.
Why is Dirk even in that poll after he choked that FT in what game of the Finals? I certainly didn't expect him to miss the FT, him of all people, there's only 1 explanation. Choke.
Mon Jul 24, 2006 2:08 am
why is lebron there? why is chauncey there? why isnt anthony there? why isnt horry there?
there's plenty of problems with that list.
Mon Jul 24, 2006 3:35 am
No one else, but Kobe Bryant..
Mon Jul 24, 2006 3:39 am
basing on your avatar/sig, you're completely unbiased there, right?
Mon Jul 24, 2006 4:27 am
let's see....all those guys are clutch but i vote Kobe because
1. Longevity....he's been clutch longer than all of them
2. Importance....only Wade, Nowiztki & Billups have had significant enough games thus far.
Mon Jul 24, 2006 4:38 am
By statistics I'll say Carmelo, but I guess it should be Kobe

actually no..
You can judge me by my Sig and avatar, but I like a lot players, just if he's my favorite it doesn't mean I vote for him in every categories...
Of course there is Wade and LeBron they're great clutches, but with my words I meant Kobe had the highest rating, and no one else had the same!!!!
Mon Jul 24, 2006 7:50 am
either kobe, wade or anthony
Mon Jul 24, 2006 9:13 am
I say Kobe because Melo is not in the list
Mon Jul 24, 2006 9:35 am
lebron would be in my opinon the best clutch player but if steve nash was on there then id vote for him

okay, okay...go back to kobe then. now you're overdoing it.lebron would be in my opinon the best clutch player but if steve nash was on there then id vote for him

Wasn't this a feature in Live 01? I can recall that there was something like a clutch rating in 01.

LeBron also missed a LOT of clutch free throws and potential game-winners/tiers. He's a great player, he's just not clutch like Kobe or T-Mac yet. Like someone else said, McGrady's 13 in 35 is absolutely unparalleled.
Mon Jul 24, 2006 1:30 pm
Actually David West was pretty clutch last season. Obviously he won't be huge in that you're not going to iso him, but he was good with catch and shoots. He'd be faiyl high up there, well above average guy. It's very debatable really, I mean normalyl in depends on perception and who people like as to who's actually the best. All I can really say is the top guys will be:
1st tier (mid-high 90's): Wade, Kobe, Arenas, Redd, Allen
2nd Tier (low-mid 90's): Vince, Dirk, Pierce, Carmelo, Ben Gordon (also higher when he's playing New York), Joe Johnson (underatted in this), McGrady, Bibby, Sam Cassell, Billups
3rd Tier (high 80's): Mike James, Ginobili, Jalen Rose, Allen Iverson, some people I'm missing probably
4th Tier (low-mid 80's): David West, Rip Hamilton, Jamal Crawford?, Tim Duncan, KG, a lot of other guys
I think McGrady is a little overatted because of that one instant, outside of that, he really wasn't that clutch before. He was okay, but not anything to really write home about.
Thing about Kobe is that he takes and forces a lot of bad shots down the stretch, and really is quite poor in his crunch time and game winning shot efficiency. People only remember his shots a lot because he makes some nice looking ones, but truly going by consistency and efficiency down the stretch he's not the best clucth guy.

Top 5.
Kobe, R. Allen, Melo, Wade, LeBron.
Mon Jul 24, 2006 4:32 pm
I voted for D-Wade, I think mainly because he came through in the most important time, the playoffs.
Mon Jul 24, 2006 5:08 pm
i think it's gonna be D-Wade, cuz he was real unbelieveble! and he deserves it!
