Talk about NBA Live 07 here.

You'd think that, with all the craze about adding sweat to players this year, EA would do the same with Live 07 for the PC or current gen systems. And what's up with adding practically everything nowadays to the analog? Does EA totally disregard the fans who still rather use the keyboards? They've also mentioned that there are new buttons, but no mentions of a button for post up... c'mon. And plus, does everyone remember the next gen NBA Live videos shown at E3? Where the players don't move as if they were stuck to the ground? I hope EA didn't leave that out for the PC version as well, also along with jersey movement and facial expressions included.
Well first off, EA knows that PC version of Live is not where the money is. The number of illegally destributed games probably decreases the value. Consoles are where the money is. Most people that play Live own consoles, I know EA's not going to pay special attention to keyboard gamers. Secondly, how come you can't just buy a controller? They're not that expensive. Thirdly, you should already know PC gets console ports of the game, not next-gen. The videos were comparing ps2 to ps3. That doesn't mean PS2's gonna have the foot planting and all that, and I doubt that it will. koberulz wrote:no right anlog stick freestyle dribbles =
Where in the article did they say that? They didn't at all. What probably will happen is that L1(or the FSS button)+Right Analog does the FSS shots.
One thing I did like in the article was the 3 seperate buttons for shoot, dunk, and layup. But I don't find it necessary to have a seperate layup button. Why not just have turbo+layup/dunk button=dunk, and no turbo=layup?

The X-Factor just seems like another extension of the FFS being rammed down our throats. It doesn't sound like a big addition either.

hey were getting nba (2k)-live-07
oh these all new features sounds sooooo nice......
ok of course....i don't believe that it will be absolutly realistic....it's still an ea....sports game...they're for fun....not realism....but i believe they are on a very good way to make it more real....
and hey some of the espn guys are working on
well it's a little early of course.....but if we remember......ea had only one feature...wich they cut out the final game...the creating-zone.....
i think there were so many complaints about live 06.....that they try to show what their capabilitys are......
oh and another point^^.....the graphics are too less improved that these featueres will be removed....they have to stay in....because no one would buy an roster upgrade
Fri Jul 14, 2006 2:50 am
It'd be nice if they had a next gen and current gen version of the PC game... and instead of shipping it to stores just have it available to purchase through download through a program like steam or something, like they do for their battlefield expansion packs.
I hope they limit the xfactor to just a few guys in the league, like Horry, Fisher, Stackhouse, Claxton, Mike Miller, Magette, and maybe Radmonovic.
Then again what if they want to factor in the clutch ability of guys like Mike Bibby and Kobe Bryant who are already starters?

It's looking like the PC version will be getting the short end of the stick.
"We've covered current gen and PSP, but what about next gen? EA acknowledges the disaster that was NBA Live 06 on the 360 and promises everything you'd expect from NBA Live finally being added into the game. That's All-Star Weekend (including the slam dunk contest), a more thorough Dynasty mode (deeper than current gen), players who move and react more like their real-life counterparts, and a few surprises EA isn't ready to drop just yet."
I really hope not b/c I'd rather upgrade my pc rather than buy a console (i know it's cheaper to do the latter, but i can do more stuff with the pc);
I don't think it's fair that the pc players can't get the same features as next gen console players - besides, isn't a (next gen) console basically a pc in a box with limitations (i.e., no real operating system, virtually no keyboard, etc.)? (mind you, i'm saying this without any disrespect to console players.)

Wow I like what I read. Now I might have to buy it. Being able to play one dynasty on you PSP and PS2 sounds freakin amazing, frick I might have to buy it for both now, instead of not buying it at all. Oh and being able to play your own mp3's during a game on PSP is good too, hopefully they don't do what RockStar did to GTA:LCS and RockStar Custom Tracks.
The X-Factor thing just means basicaly, when a guy gets hot, he gets to choose a superstar ability, I don't think it will be too overpowering, hopefully. Dynasty seems alot better, alot more realistic, alot more to do when not playing a game. Graphics are the same, but as long as there's no headband glitches or weird animations I'm happy.
I hope they have saved voice files on the game for rookies like 2k6, instead of just calling out #6 and so on. They stole the shotstick, but I'm happy they did. The 3 superstar types I'm not crazy about, why not just have player tendencies like 2k, I know people would say they're copying but w/e, at least the 3 superstar types are a step in the right direction. In all, I'll probably rent it first for PS2, I know it won't live up to my expectations after reading that (cause after reading that, I got high hopes), but if it doesn't have glitches and crap like in 06, I'll have to buy it.

Хboх 360 System Performance - Draft
Custom IBM PowerPC-based CPU
* 3 symmetrical cores running at 3.2 GHz each
* 2 hardware threads per core; 6 hardware threads total
* 1 VMX-128 vector unit per core; 3 total
* 128 VMX-128 registers per hardware thread
* 1 MB L2 cache
that may be the reason.

Fuck EA.
Now I'm intrested in a game that will surely be a letdown. The re-do of the draft will be limited to the 60 players tagged, the ESPN-gimmick will be annoying, the X-factor will muck up the primacyidiocy from '06 and switching on the fly witha superstar will be useless and anything but natural.
Yet I'm looking forward to it.
Fuck EA.

X-factor sounds good, but also arcade like. But i really like the seperation between the 3 types of players! Cant wait to see a list of who has what, and who the x-factor players are.

A High end PC can do everything an Xbox 360 can. Besides, on a PC you have the ability to turn your graphics up or down, so they could have high settings have the 360 look and low settings for people with lower quality PC's.

They definately need to do those pre-voicing of whatever combination of rookie names there will be. No more #2 etc, THEY BETTER MAKE IT, IT'S NOT REALLY THAT HARD.

Yeah, I understand the illegal distribution of the PC part, too bad about that. As for the controller, I do have a PC Xbox360 style controller, it's just I've never been comfortable playing NBA Live with a controller. I've been playing NBA Live since the days of NBA Live 99 till now, and I've always been using the keyboard... tried the controller, reverted back to keyboard in almost an instant. It's just personal preferences.
Fri Jul 14, 2006 5:44 am
ßz, I'm sure if you played with a controller for a long time you'd like it. It takes probably over a month of getting used to and sucking with it, but once you get used to it I'd doubt you'd turn back.

3 cores? AMD will be coming out with quad core CPU's next year; I'm always looking to upgrade my pc (for live, mostly) but also to make sure that my pc is always ahead of the console technology. with quad cores plus next gen video cards coming out, that will do the trick. there should be no reason why pc gamers should be getting anything less than the next gen console players, not to mention the fact of "customizability" (being able to turn your graphics up or down, depending on the type of pc you have).

Yeah, I had a gamepad and didn't used it for like four years, but I suddenly started to use it, force things a little bit and I would never get back to keyboard!

yes, but the ability to turn graphics down and implement lower quality settings would represent additional programming for the PC version and i'm pretty positive they don't want to put extra work for the version that's the least profitable for them. i don't own a xbox360 and i'm sure i won't be getting one anytime soon, but you can't blame them for not working on a version they don't make much money for.

Exactly!! It seems they have taken away the pro hop button. If I were EA, I would have done what you said about turbo for both the dunk/layup button and the pro hop button. Not every nba player pro hops, sometimes they take two steps. Say turbo+pro hop started a players two steps just like the "gather" in the dunk contest, that way you could have a REAL traveling violation if you didn't select to shoot or pass before the third step.

You can already turn your graphics up or down on the PC version so I dont think that would be a massive issue.

I hope the dunk button, doesnt mean dat everybody can dunk now...........because i am going to press it with nash, so i can see him get hung........but if he dunk it, i'm going to be dissapointed
Sat Jul 15, 2006 4:30 am
Maybe he will just miss dunks or it won't do anything...

Lol, I know what you mean, but I don't like forcing a habit on myself. If I can't find myself to initially like the thing, I just can't seem to like it down the road.

are they gon have a turbo button????

HtownBallaADL wrote:are they gon have a turbo button????
i dont see why they wouldn't...
but anyway-
wow, this is actually sounding alright, it sounds better than 2k atm, so hopefully it's as good as it sounds. I like the sound of the 3 player types instead of giving anyone who has a good attribute a superstar ability
Sat Jul 15, 2006 11:21 am
sounds like they're adding a lot of the 2k series features - shot stick, chemistry, improved dynasty etc
I like the sound of the updated draft but as Jae mentioned, it needs more than a few grades and Greg Anthony telling me I'm an idiot for drafting Severin Harding over Rudy Gay....
I'm also glad that XBox 360 gets the most features....hopefully dynasty mode is very in-depth....PC version should really have all the features of 360 version since PC has the hard drive & capacity to do it....
