Actually Mike Breen and Hubie Brown form a pretty nice couple as commentators. The stupidest thing with Steve comments is when he says "He had a wide open shot but he just wasn't able to hit", while that player had 20 defenders on his face and the inverse "that's a contested shot etc" when he was wide open. So it's kinda...

But again, that's hardly Steve Kerr's fault; it's a matter of the game pulling up an inappropriate line.

I agree with all of you on how Kerr says things at the inappropriate time; one time he went on this rant and blasted my team for giving up a lead after someone scored on a layup. I was still up by 12.

Absolutely, it's a programming fault. I think they have it like when a guy hits a shot "then" play "these are wide open shots blah blah blah", regardless if a defender is there... and so on with the other "faults". So it's just a ... bug. But it should be pretty easy to correct it. There should be something like "if a defender is next to the shooting player then defense = 1 => Steve Kerr says "wow, he had his shot contested and still was able to hit it"". I think you get the ideea.

I love the commentaries of Kevin Harlan and Kenny Smith on NBA2K6, and they are pretty accurated to what happens in the game. I like live's comments too, with Kerr and Albert, but as many other people said : "Steve's comments were very wrongly timed"

Sun Jun 25, 2006 11:13 pm

I love the line: "Steve, no help on that play at all"; "Well, there's a reason for that - he's just so explosive he can get to the rim anytime he wants...actually reminds me a lot of myself" (Y)

I hope they keep Kerr and Marv. (Y)

I know that this is not possible, but they should put Stephen A. Smith for the commentary, straight up ! (Y) (Y)

Ha!

Anyway. I don't care if I hear the same line 10 times a game, just make it happen at the correct time.

Not if the aim is to improve the commentary.

I just hope they fix the logic for the buzzer beaters for every quarter. I think they got it reversed. It's always wrong. The referee and the comments...

Fri Jun 30, 2006 6:58 pm

I think that an ESPN commentator crew is going to do the commentary... Don't know who the guys are, but I think that is one of priviledges of the ESPN package EASports bought about a year ago.

But different commentator teams from game to game would keep the commentary fresh and new and would not repeat it self game-in-game-out...

Fri Jun 30, 2006 8:17 pm

I agree. I hope there will be Hubie Brown, he's pretty smart.

Fri Jun 30, 2006 8:26 pm

I'd like Charles, Ernie and Jet..and not for the Allstar weekend  (Y)

haha, that's the way everyone feels.

Fri Jun 30, 2006 11:41 pm

hey you guys ever hear one of the commentators talk about
Shawn Marion being the "Matrix" and the joke about kenny smith being the
Bi-plane? i never heard it before til yesterday
i really hope they get rid of corny jokes and stuff next live.

With the more space they have to work with on the disc they can put a lot more vocals in the game. and make it more on point. They should also section off certain commentaries by quarters. so things they should say would be said in the 1st quarter and not in the 4th. They should also live up the crowd more. . put more vocals from the fans screaming at refs and players.

I'm under the impression that Marv Albert and Steve Kerr are signed for at least one more game, but that's still subject to confirmation.

I hope that after a guy has scored like 50 points, he should taken off the field by people carrying him, and having the crowd yelling "MVP, MVP" and like the commentators saying how great his season has been and stuff. Also, if we do get the ESPN with the lot, I'd like to see a big group or commentators, discussing the NBA and stuff. I wouldnt mind if they added the score where its a bar along the bottom. IT seems probable as it is having ESPN. I know some of these are wish list things, but I'm mostly saying what I want out of the ESPN package

Sun Jul 02, 2006 12:50 pm

when have you seen sum1 get carried off da field for scorin 50 points? in real life.......never
and just because you score 50 points, do not mean you havin a good season or that you are worth and mvp chant..

Wed Jul 12, 2006 9:35 am

I wish they had Kevin Harlan.

Wed Jul 12, 2006 11:02 am

Stever Kerr sucks!!!!!!!!!!! they really need to get rid of him.

Wed Jul 12, 2006 3:14 pm

they should have 6 commentators. and it will random choose 2 everytime.so we can have different comment on different players.

Thu Jul 13, 2006 8:20 am

i would go with bill walton. its just so funny to hear what stupid crap he would say

Thu Jul 20, 2006 3:25 am

they should replace steve kerr for STEVEN A

Oh yeah?! As if Kerr isn't doing it himself.

I can hear him in my game you know. I'm not stupid.
